I have the HomeKit one and it works great. I use my Apple Watch to get seri to open the garage door as I drive up the road.
I have the non homekit version (bought before homekit one was around) and have the app on my apple watch and it opens the door no problem. Yes i have to open the app on the watch but i dont use siri anyway so works for me. Just a fyi, i agree though buy the homekit one when on promo.
You're losing out! Upgrade to homekit and rename your door to 'sesame' so you just say "hey siri, open sesame!"
i had it with google before i switched back to iphone and used it in the car but i put a pin on the door so i would have to say the pin out loud which kinda defeated the purpose for me lol
So i stick to the app button press :D
I have returned mine before, as i was having installation issues.. lol
Would this or the Wofea be the better option? This on special at $44 but the Wofea seems okay too and is usually under $25.
I bought the Wolfea one and you can't set the button press time. It defaults to two seconds which works with one of my doors, but it's too long with the other door and it only closes it a foot then makes the door go back up.
I'm going to buy a Meross unit as I can set the button press time
Having said that if the 2 second button press works (which yoh can test with your remote) then the Wolfea is fine
I have the Wofea, just hadn't set it up yet but did this morning. Will give it to my parents if I decided to get the Meross.
Works absolutely fine within the Smart Life or Tuya app. Just can't get Google Home to work as once linked, opening/closing the door just does nothing. From what I've read, Google might see it as a sensor only and not a switch which isn't ideal. Work around is setting a scene/routine in the Smart Life app then having Google run that scene but would have preferred Google Home to just open when I click open.
Unless others have had this issue and fixed it somehow?
Pro tip name it “sesame” the. You get to say “hey google/Siri OPEN SESAME”.
Has anyone had success using this on an automatic gate?

go for Homekit version when it comes to sale ~$56. much better value.
