Good brand and a good price. Got yelled and threatened if this gets delivered by the militant and angry wife. So hope someone else might appreciate this deal.

      If you look at the knives, it's Joseph².

      Obviously, it's subjective, but for me, an extra knife an $10 off is worth more than a knife block.

  Averages around $100 for the past 5 months according to camel.

  It looks nice though that's about it.

  Personally would buy 2 Victorinox Fibrox knives instead, which would have some quality behind it.

  After conducting my investigation I can confirm that the knives are stamped as Japanese steel… which is basically useless information.

  I have a lot of JJ kitchen stuff, they are overpriced so I only buy on sale, but they are well designed and generally good quality. But I don't own any of their knives, and I was curious so I looked it up because of the lack of info on Amazon.

  I'm not going to get into steel type because I don't care, and at this RRP it's probably decent.

  • Knives included: 3.5” Paring knife, 4.5” Serrated knife, 5.5” Santoku knife, 6.5” Chef’s knife, 8” Bread knife

  Paring knife and serrated knife, cool whatever. 14cm Santoku is a bit small. 16.5cm Chef's knife is tiny; Santoku are 16cm+, Cook's knives are about 20cm and Chef's knives are 25+. Bread knife is also small at 20cm. Ceramic sharpener is not my thing—and you can only use it on 3/5 knives—but some people swear by them so that's cool and I like how it's integrated into the block.

  You're paying $80 for a cool block, an undersized Santoku, a very small "Chef's knife", and a smallish bread knife. And 2 whatever-who-cares-knives and a ceramic sharpener.

  If you like small knifes, then this is a good buy, otherwise buy individual knives at the sizes that's right for you.

    Yeah went on their website to see if they mentioned steel type but they don't, couldn't find anything stamped on the knives individually either. Personally skeptical about the steel.

    I will not get into trouble over this knife set. Maybe for a bigger TV or $500 PS5 I will take the ass-kicking that will come my way haha.

    Come to think of it, if I buy this and she is the one to open the package, she will be angry and armed!
