I paid over $3k for a 300 Celeron PC :/ with a S3 virge
Celerons sucked pretty hard. I got suckered into one in the early days because it was considerably cheaper than the equivalent clock speed Pentium when I was comparing them at a swap meet. Hardly any onboard cache. The S3 verge wasn't the strongest but it would have kept your Celeron at 100%.
The legendary celeron 300, overclockable by upping the fsb from 66MHz to 100MHz (100bx) for an easy 450MHz.
Show me a CPU today that can overclock like that. Was the bargain of the century.
I paid something similar for my 266mhz pentium ii system back in the day. It even had a CD writer and a voodoo2!
