Nice price considering people are posting the 6950XT at $1150 lol

    • +2

I've been waiting 37 years now for the 6700, 6700XT, 6800 to drop in price. But it's hard to justify any 6000 series at their current prices when 7000 is a nice price comparatively.

    Hold XTX >$1000

    • +39

      You mean <?

      • +19

Yeah something like that lol - thanks

    • 7900 XTX position is like 6950 XT for last gen. And I dont even see 6950XT dropping below 1k so you gonna wait for years lol

      • +1

There will probably be a 7950XT to close the gap with the 4090 tho.

  • +2

There is some ASUS TUF versions for 1192 at umart, msy.

Something strange as these high prices have started to normalize in my brain now, I actually see this a reasonable price, not a great price, but reasonable. In December I bought a used 6700XT for $450, because new prices for GPU's were unacceptable, now, not so much.

    • +15

      That's the idea

    • +15

Your comment brings a tear to Jensen's A-eye… Tear of joy that is… If Ai's could feel joy

      • +6

I know now why you cry, but it is something I can never do.

    • +14

that what nvidia (and AMD following along) wants the public to accept these prices as the norm.

      they want
$400 to be price for entry level (few years ago it would gotten a upper mid tier card)
      and so on etc.

      • If I wanted to reply directly to your comment, I am under the impression OZB would put that comment one level underneath like this.

I have no control on how OZB notifies people. FabMan was OK with my comment. He even gave me a + vote lol… He also + voted your comment.

P.S. I have zero issue with your comment above (in fact I agree). That's why I see zero reason to reply to it initially.

    • +2

With daily GPU deals being posted, you start to get used to it and slowly accepting it as the new normal.

      • +6

        not me..
only people who accept are in desperate need to get one..

If you don't buy it then you are not accepting the prices..

the general public aren't buying the 4060Ti aren't accepting it…
the 8GB is not even going to be suitable for any future games with the way things are going..
and they want to charge another $100 just to get 16GB vram but still the same spec card.

Nvidia is only able to keep these prices high for so long
cos they hit the jackpot on AI money.
And they want to continue milking the high profit they got during the crypto and pandemic with these high prices.

If you give in and then you are just saying it is okay for them to keep doing this.

If you look at the GPU sales and even new PC sales
it is showing to be going down..
It is more cheaper to just a get console and get good performance
and not have issues with the bad ports on the PC due to less VRAM issues etc..
PC gaming is too expensive nowadays due these high GPU prices..

        • not me..

You + voted this. 4060Ti, sure it is bad and we are all jumping on the bandwagon to trash it, but RX 7600 is no saint either.

AMD is riding the AI wave too. That's why AMD's share price has gone up. Otherwise, with its lacklustre result last quarter, it doesn't make any sense for the share price to be that high. Believe me, AMD would love to win more AI market share.

It's easy for us console owners to sit back and look at PC GPU prices. How many PS5 owners actually have a copy of The Last of Us Part 1 PS5 remake edition? Of course PC sales would be going down because most of us would have purchased some PC related gears in the past 2 years. Sony and Microsoft are not exactly doing great in console gaming revenue at the moment.

My point is, even people who feel GPU prices are crazy are willing to start + vote this.

          • @netsurfer:

My point is, even people who feel GPU prices are crazy are willing to start + vote this.

The only thing that really counts is if people actually buy it.. not whether they +vote a deal.

not really sure what is the point of your comment
like drawing some sort of conclusion that
+vote = accepting of these prices as the norm?

you do realize people regularly +vote ebay voucher codes
even though people then regularly make comments about price jacking

            • @pinkybrain: You already sent me a direct message, we can continue our discussion on the + vote reasoning there.

P.S. I was replying to FabMan's comment initially.

              • @netsurfer: actually your comment was replying to my comment and it is directly under my comment
that's why I got alert notification.

if you click reply under his name, then he would have gotten the notification.

anyway the point still remains valid

The only thing that really counts is if people actually buy it.

                • +1

@pinkybrain: I clicked on reply on FabMan's comment. that's why the tree structure of the messages is like that. Read FabMan's comment and my initial reply. It makes sense. If I really wanted to reply to your comment, it would have been a long paragraph at least.

Compare that to your first reply to mine, it is nested below.

I think OZB needs to change and not over notify. Believe it, if there is a checkbox on only notify the original comment poster, but no one else replied to that comment, I would most certainly clicked on that checkbox. I have zero issue how people want to + vote it. There is no need to revoke the vote. It's a GPU that neither of us has any intention to buy, so that's not waste more time on this.

    • Nah it's a shit price. Demand hasn't dropped since the whole crypto fomo gouging.

Obviously if PoW stays dead gpu prices will drop. I'll probably wait for the 9900xt with the pathtracing 2.0 bs for $700. The latest games still look like cartoons anyway (cartoons with rtx high gloss over them)

  • Will this play pubg with highest settings

  • How's the power draw on these card compared to 4070ti? My main concerns are high power draw on idle and gaming. I use a165hz oled single monitor for reference.

    • +2

Power draw with more than two monitors has significant reduced since launch. People keep posting reviews from 2022, when it has changed a lot in June 2023.

      https://www.hwcooling.net/en/radeon-power-draw-finally-stays…

    • +2

      HU head to head review.

    • +1

Can't say much wrt your monitor but 7900xt and the 4070ti feel pretty much the same

7900xt has about 10W more consumption for 10 more FPS at about 5°C higher

From the latest reddit posts idle power on the 4070ti is reliably low - 7900xt with latest drivers are getting there but still higher

  • 52.5mm still won't fit in my H210i :(
Will have to upgrade to a NR200P…

    • Reference cards are 51mm so unless you go custom or factory liquid cooled, there are no 7900's that will fit in an H210i

      • Yup I’ve basically given up…
Currently got a 3070 and will need to re-case before getting anything more than a 4070 (which would be pointless really).

  • +4

I must be a fool, just grabbed this.

  • Hmm the $1099 deal last week is the new benchmark

  • Omg so tempting , anyone wants my liquid cool asus rog 6900xt?

    • I want it.

  • +2

Wow for someone who paid $1400 for a 4070TI with 12GB VRAM only 2 months ago this price makes me sad but happy for you guys who got one

  • -2

I wouldn't even buy XTX for this
