  • Good deal on warehouse listing

  • Had a miele c3 basic for yonks. Best vacuums ever. I Use a Ryobi stick vac now but if I ever need serious again this is the model im getting. Don't hesitate if need a a good vac. And as a bonus you can also hate on Dyson .

    • +1

I have two Dysons (stick and ball) and want a Miele! Dyson most overrated brand ever. It doesn’t suck up anything larger than a grape. Bagg-less means pulling out chunks of dust every other time you use it. Piece of crap.

(And to the Dyson cult about to unleash on me: yes I do maintain them very well. Cleaning filters, empty frequently, removing clogged hair from the shitty motorised brush head).

      • Dyson is only really a winner in the stick vacuum space. In a plugged in setting Miele and other industrial vacs are the best options.

  • +4

Ahhh…. Inflation. Bought mine for under $300 about 5 years ago.

  • +3

I still remember the Good Guys $285 deal. Was an absolute steal. Best vacuum! So quiet and so powerful. So much better than Dysons.

    • We have a Dyson DC 21 motorhead and its still going strong after maybe 12 years. We have been pretty happy with it, and it was such a massive upgrade over our previous Hoover with motorized brush head. Is this really that much better than a dyson corded vac with a powerhead or are you all comparing a 240v corded vac to the dyson stick vacs? would be interested to know if it really is that much better, and id actually be tempted to upgrade if it truly is.

      • +3

Stick vacs don't compare at all to 240v vacuums for suction. Yes they are convenient, but IMO no where near as good suction.

I'm comparing it to Dyson 240v ones. The Dysons are just so damn noisy too.

Maybe go to a store and check one out - ask them to plug it in.

        • Thanks mate :)

      • +1

        Yes absolutely!

We had a DC21 for years until we got a double coated dog .. in a fully carpeted apartment. We found it just didn't have sufficient suction power and the "bagless" design was making cleanup a lot harder.

We switched to one of these and it was a huge improvement; we gave away our DC21 for free to someone who really needed a vac.

We've moved out of our old apartment and now have hardwood floors so vacuuming is not as big a PITA. Right now we use a V15 Detect Absolute for quick cleaning every few days in heavy traffic areas. This gets busted out once a month for a full heavy duty clean everywhere.

        • +2

well crap, thanks for the reply. This thing is also half what we paid for the dyson. Now to convince the wife we need a new vac :)

          • +3

@DanielP2: As long as you do all the vacuuming, I'm sure she'd be happy!

          • +1

@DanielP2: We bought our miele during the initial pandemic lockdowns when tech was in short supply in Aus (manufacturing was shutdown in germany). So we had to pay a huge premium to get it across from the US which ended up being almost 2x the price in this deal. If it makes you feel better, know that even then I have absolutely no regrets.

      • +1

I own two Dysons. Stick V8 and a ball DC37C. Most overrated brand ever. My parents have a Miele from the nineties which is heaps better.

The Dyson just doesn’t deal properly with anything larger than a grape. It sounds like a jet engine but has bugger-all power. Bag-less just means you have to go in there and pull out chunks of dust. I rather pay for bags.

The only thing I find them decent for, is pet hair. The motorised brush heads swipe up the hair pretty effectively.

I have been a bit spoiled though, our new house has ducted vacuuming which just blows (or sucks) everything else out of the water.

    • +1

I replaced this specific vacuum with the Dyson v11. While the Miele may suck a little batter
The practicality of the Dyson means I vacuum more frequently and the house remains cleaner.
Being tied down to a cord and unplugging replugging 3 or so times each vacuum session was annoying

      • Really? When I do a proper vacuum, I dust window sills and furniture, not just carpet. A battery vacuum wouldn't last long enough.

Good for a quick vacuum of a floor in half the house and then flat.

        • Yeah unusual. Mine does a lighter houseload weekly quite comfortably

  • +5

Great vacuum, suction is crazy. Shits all over a Dyson.

  • Is it free to return as i bought it more expensive and now price has dropped?

    • It can be, yes

      • Thanks! I haven’t received my order yet. It doesn’t say free returns on the listing though.

        • I just had my order cancelled and refund issue for the deal a few days ago. I reordered this deal.

    • I want to do the same, but I guess shipping a ~11kg box would cost a bit?

    • I think that you can go to your account and orders, click return items, choose better price available, then it should tell you the postage amount to return the item. If it's too much you can cancel the return.

  • This or shark xl, which is also at a decent price of 424 on amazon ?

    • Definitely Shark if you have carpets.

      • Whats better about the shark?

        • Upright, power head, bagless, some gimmicks like the lighting.

          • +1

@coxymla: bags > bagless imo. Less grossness, bag holds lots, and bags are just some heavy duty paper stuff its not all that wasteful.

My ryobi has a light on it though and I thought it would be a gimmick but its actually super practical. Lights up crud on the floor that I no way would have seen and could miss otherwise.

This listing is cheaper for what appears to be the same model:

    • +1

      It’s from a 0 rated seller per OP’s post.

  • +3

If I bought this the other day at $496.30 can I ask Amazon for the $16.70 difference? Asking for a friend and that friend is me.

    • They cancelled and refunded previous deal, due to delay in shipping my order. I just reordered this deal after refund processed.

    • +1

I'd ordered this the other day (2 days ago) for ~$550. I just spent the past 20 minutes on Amazon support chat. I spoke to 2 different people and both refused (citing policy) that they won't do a refund of the difference.

The second person seemed to have some OzBargain DNA as they suggested I buy it again at the lower price and return the one I originally ordered at the higher price. They sent me a return shipping label (awaiting the email) for free shipping and they processed the return. But it's still in transit with Toll, so I will ring up Toll in a minute and ask them to return to sender, to save the mucking around. Amazon confirmed that if I do that, they'd do a refund.

Bit of mucking around but saves me $70 and the associated frustration at daily elastic pricing.

  • Surely Amazon does not tolerate Dodgie Brothers style companies? RAJANTARIQ seems a really good name that will deliver…

    • My one foray into 3rd party somehow got stuck in Sydney forever. Amazon refunded in full ($100ish) without question - pretty sure it was a chat script, not even a real person that did the refund.

    • +1

Amazon AU is full of them unfortunately, sometimes multiple 0 feedback new sellers are available on the same item to purchase.

I can only assume it's very easy to create a new store on Amazon, as they come and go constantly. They undercut prices on popular items and many people don't realise the difference in sellers.

  • Should I get this vacuum for hard floors/tiles?

    • Has a separate head for tiles. Works pretty well.

  • I was disappointed missing the deal the other day but that thrilled I've got it now. Thanks hamza23!

  • Is it worth spending a bit more and going to a bagless model like the CX1?

    • +1

No this is superior in performance to the cx1

    • +1

I have both. The CX1 is bigger, harder to move around, harder to clean, needs emptying frequently vs the bag of C3 which seems to last forever, and the suction is maybe a bit worse.

  • I have this vacuum. It sucks, in a really good way

  • Miele C1 power line vacuum is also on sale at Amazon for $249 (was $419). https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/771167, I have dyson dc23 from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/175445 and it legit almost rips up the carpet its so powerful

    • Nice! Between the C1 and the C3 cat and dog, whats better value for money?

  • C3 while more expensive seems like the better deal. Very close to hitting the buy with some extra bags.

  • I can't seem to add the C3 Amazon one
even though it showed 3 left… says failed to add to cart

    closed app and reloaded

maybe delayed stock or stock in carts?

kept going to 400 bucks one

    • +1

That means it is sold out sorry, just the stock count hasn't caught up yet.

    • +1

Same here. The miele store takes you to the $400 one. You reckon it could actually be legit?

      • I checked the stats and they have sold 50.
Also it seems Amazon will refund if not as described or shipping takes too long.

So it may be worth the small risk of non delivery.

And given the product, I suspect one could manage Miele warranty in Australia.

Shipping goes from 1 day to 20 days to WA…. so yes, also thinking it may be worth it and use the savings for bags.

        Amazon Policy:
        A-to-Z Guarantee
The Amazon A-to-z Guarantee protects you when you purchase items sold and fulfilled by a third-party seller. Our A-to-z Guarantee covers both the timely delivery and the condition of your items once received. If either the timing for delivery or the condition of your items received are unsatisfactory, you can report the problem to our team and we will determine if you are eligible for a refund.

And given the product, I suspect one could manage Miele warranty in Australia.

You aren't going to receive a Miele vacuum, or anything from that seller, so it doesn't matter. You will just be without $400 for a couple of weeks, until Amazon auto refund you or you chase it up. There are probably 100s of these new sellers on Amazon every week of late. They just undercut whatever the current price is, to attract unsuspecting users.

Mmm… just checked the Amazon red flags
        * New store, no reviews
        * Long Shipping Times - could indicate a delay to avoid bad reviews
        * Not using amazon fulfilment
        * Price bordering too good to be true at over 50% off.

        https://www.amazon.com.au/sp?ie=UTF8&seller=AE7ERQIXDODS4&as…

        and this checklist https://www.envisionhorizons.com/blog/how-to-avoid-scam-sell….

        Going to pass.
rather pay a bit more and not stress.

    • I was too late and OOS for me. Looking to replace a Dyson DC08. Dyson still works OK but attachments have seen better days. The crappy copies are awful and genuine parts seem to be only avail in UK stores who weren’t keen on INTL shipping.

My DC08 works fine on tiles but can’t handle the really thick and dense carpet.

I’ve never really been that happy with the Dyson DC08 and yes it is old but it’s still working.

Friends with Miele can’t stop raving about them. Sorta wish I could hire or trial one. C3 was the unit of choice and honestly I don’t mind going back to bags as I wear gloves and N95 mask when time to empty. I guess a problem for all bagels models.

I can’t really justify except the Dyson just does a very ordinary job on my carpets, lucky the place is more tiles than carpet.

anyway I’m too late on this on and C1 is not good enough. If I wasn’t cash poor, I would have grabbed but not kern to ship back to Amazon - though I I can wait, the carpets need something better. The C3 reviews all look good and despite cost of bags, happy to not need PPE when emptying a bagless anything.

Have to wait until next time. Would prefer to get a local store to match the price but they won’t.

  • Anyone know if RAJANTARIQ is a good bloke? Offering for 4 hundy

Thought I would repost my comment here:

Don't know. Maybe covered by Amazon AtoZ policy. But hard to tell with exclusions.

    • not anymore, they bumped up to $500 now. I saw the price was $400 for a few mins.

      • sus, maybe he read the comment about price being too good to be true, lol

        • and its back to $400 now. what is going on!

  • Now that this is OOS, is the CX1 Cat & Dog going for $479 worth looking into if you're in need of a new vacuum?

  • I accidentally ordered via the 3rd party seller early this morning. Requested cancellation a few minutes later but apparently the shipping had commenced so the cancellation was not guaranteed. Raised my concerns about the seller on Amazon chat and they contacted the seller too - the seller has just accepted the cancellation.

In the meantime I ordered via amazon directly.

  • amazon wouldn't price match an order on Monday. I ultimately got JB to price match and will just return the amazon order when it arrives. What a load of shit.

  • Deal is back on again. Now it's $400

  • Great vacuum, I use eBay bags works out to $2 a pop. If we are doing a waste of time clean I'd use the Miele stick but for food clean bag all day long. Miele hx1 Stick 3/10 bag 10/10.

  • Are these good for house full of tiles and no carpet?

  • My order has gone from next day delivery (today) to June 19th. Shipped and with Toll already, but coming from Perth.
