Seems to be the cheapest the M10 HD 2nd Gen has gotten on Ozbargain history. Could be useful as a bigger screen for watching videos for cheap.

    These are painfully slow. Landfill.
    Cases are expensive and hard to find. Cracked glass = bin as repairs are not an option.
    Second hand ipad is a better buy

      I've had one of these for over a year now and I couldn't disagree more. Have the 4gb one.

      We use it for Netflix, Plex, web, ebooks, comics.

      I would not use the word slow. It's never slowed down for me or had any trouble streaming. Actually it's really responsive. Maybe there's a huge difference with the 2gb model people are talking about???

      Battery is good and it's android so you can side load anything you want. For people who don't want to (profanity) around with apples restrictions it's pretty damn great.

      Also I like the build quality and feel of it. We don't use a case just a screen protector.

        Yes the 2gb version is really slow, it was free anyway and I just leave it on the desk next to my computer to play some news streaming.

        You must have very modest expectations. I had the m10 plus 2nd gen mediatek/4GB
        Build is decent. That's about all it had going for it. The initial lag before doing anything wa excruciating. There was only so ma y apps you could run concurrency before it would become painfully unresponsive. It's currently in an e-waste pile somewhere on this planet.

          I am not sure why but the 7" is a bit better even the same 2gb Ram, may because of newer andriod 11?

        I'd imagine so. If it's slower than the phone they see you using, they wouldn't use it.

        I got that Lenovo Tab P11 Pro Gen 2. Great little thing. Costs as much as a midrange phone, but it performs just as well, with a bigger screen. I only wish it could let me create multiple logins. Because there's only one login account, I keep it away from the kids. They can only use it when I'm there… and when I'm within reach of it.

        Kids nowadays are not fools. They are intelligent and very tech savvy actually, and increasingly reliant on technology for legitimate purposes at a very early age. For me, it's all about embracing the shift and showing that I understand their needs and perspectives. A decent gadget helps address these needs (which BTW includes schooling). Good parenting based on morals and values is paramount. A relationship with your child based on mutual trust and respect helps immensely when it comes to controls. You could try blockers, parental controls etc but remember it's not like they don't know how to circumvent these.

    The 2nd gen isn't really a good deal if I'm being honest, as the 3rd gen (not plus models) were selling at aldi for $200, then $150, then, $100 not long ago (search ozbargain).

    However the 3rd gen plus model deal you posted is an alright deal, might be good for another home assistant tablet

        I would prefer the slightly larger screen and ability to use phone more freely whilst keeping playback on but a second hand or upgrading my existing phone might just be the better option still.

      The 3rd gen listed above will suffice if you are not picky with the screen type.

      Edit: Apparently the reviews point that the m10 plus has a better screen. More rams and slightly better processor .

    FWIW I've been using a 2nd gen for a while now, for Youtube Revanced, Kodi & Kayo (no games). Works perfectly fine, no issues at all. I just bought another one, thanks OP.

    I have the plus and I recently bought my son the HD model thinking they were the same but they're really not.

    He wants to play roblox and minecraft on it but it really struggles with constant screen freezes and blackouts, I feel bad for him that I bought it. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

    and just looking into this looks like it does come with Android 12 but the hardware won't play high graphical games that well but if you want to use it for youtube netflix etc and basic compute functions like a smart home console even then this is fine, it will even be good for remote game play with things like geforce now and PS remote play. But if you wanna run high end native game this is maybe not the one for you.

      Fine for my 2 year old based on the Samsung galaxy a8. The screen is not bad too for a non oled tablet.
