  • Are these the best on the market for under 1k?

    • +2

These are best on the market for under $2k (i assume the s8 is still super $$$)

      • That's a strong endorsement… is it time for me to bite the bullet

        • +1

This is a much better deal I think, S7 MaxV is a much better model than S7 in all aspects for just $300 more

          • @OzComment: Why did I not see this earlier!

If you know, will these deals + the EBay discount last at least a day? I'm hoping to get a refund and move to the MaxV

            • +1

@DrSwag: I think so, the coupon code itself is valid until 21 June, and the MaxV deal is from Roborock directly so stock level shouldn't be a big concern (I think).

          • @OzComment: Can you please explain to total robovac newb like me why it's better?

            • @RangaWal: Not my comment, but I mostly concur with it. The MaxV has more suction and detection of things like dog poo and shoe laces. So in theory it should do a better job and get stuck less. The reviews I've seen tend to concur.

I just bought this one (the MaxV Plus) and it arrived yesterday. It's doing its first clean now.

            • +1

@RangaWal: and a review has actually compared S7 MaxV and S8 Pro, and found that S7 MaxV has better cleaning performance than S8 Pro due to its better airlow (and therefore better suction), and that the S8's twin rollers aren't doing any better job to catch hairs than S7's single roller.

So by going with S7 MaxV you have a piece of mind that it's at least another year proof you've got a great cleaning robot until S9 is out.

  • +2

I’ve got the S7. It’s fantastic. Really comes into its own if you’ve got a lot of non-carpeted flooring as I hate mopping.

Would be hard to find something else that performs materially better under $1k.

    • +1

I also hate mopping… does it do a good job and how often do you still do a proper mop?

I’m still on the original Xiaomi mi robot vacuum!

      • +3

I have the S7 too and it does a good job mopping polished timber floors. I don’t do a manual mop anymore - I just leave it up to the robot!

        • Alright i'm convinced, bought! Thanks and thanks Ham

          • +1

@Chickenleg: Convinced me also, just purchased for $950. ;^)

            Hope I'll be :) rather than :(

            • +1

@KenMar: My wife thinks the mopping is ok, she will still do a manual mop peridiocially as it leaves swirl marks on the floor and doesn't go all the way to the edges.

From my perspective it is good enough - but everything is a big plus from the original Xiaomi Vaccum that died a few months back.

              • @Baa: Id love to go from weekly mopping to monthly though!

      • +1

It does a really good job as it mechanically moves a section of the pad from side to side as opposed to just dragging it along.

It doesn’t mop corners and has trouble with dried stains but otherwise does a really serviceable job and if you’re generally pretty clean you prob won’t find yourself actually having to mop at all.

      • +1

Seems OK but I've found I have to remove the pad and wet it down with water as it dries out between runs and the pump doesn't seem to add water fast enough. Otherwise happy with purchase. A lot better than the deebot T9 we had previously.

    • Does it know when to stop mopping if it goes over a rug?

      • +2

        yes -
not only can it tell if it's going over the carpet or a rug, you can use the app to section off a part of the house you don't want it going into which is pretty neat

        • +1

I did a lot of researching and decide don the s8 because of 'Vibarise' for this very situation. Something about the wet pads dragging on the carpet from memory.

          • +1

@notout50: When I had carpet, my s7 seemed to handle it fine.
I did have some problems with one of my rugs but it wasn't the robot's fault (my cat kept putting his toys under there that made it bumpy, which would make contact with the mop pad).

I guess if you have very fluffy carpet/rugs or rugs that aren't flat, then proceed with caution? lol

  • Does not come down to 922$

    • Yeah just realised that the eBay plus coupon doesn't work

      • +2

the ebay plus code brings it down to 950 (SEOFY22) the non-ebay plus code (SEOFY20) brings it down to $974.36

        • Cheers, I've updated.

  • I get $1217.95.

    • +1

Are you applying the SEOFY20 code?

  • Have they changed the price? I'm seeing $1,074.36 (with the code)

  • +5

Add it to cart, it will apply $125 off, then at checkout, add the code. use SEOFY22 if you have ebay plus and it goes down to $950

    Subtotal (1 item) AU $1,342.95
    Postage Free
    Discount -AU $125.00
    Vouchers/coupons -AU $267.95

  • Does it come with the Australian plug (not an adapter)?

  • This or Narwal T1 at $1,099?

  • wow i paid $1299 a few months ago :(

  • Good price.. if only it was still possible to Valetudo it

  • Great price. Bought mine for $1k and have been very happy with it.

  • I bought it on the last deal, but we warned they took just over 2 weeks to get delivered citing issues from the "warehouse team".

Works pretty well, but my map keeps getting "updated" with phantom rooms when it loses traction.

    • +2

2 weeks seems pretty alright to me.

  • +4

Dang it! Bought $1016 just like one week ago -,-

Anyway buyers beware, Allphones might take up to 2 weeks to ship out your vacuum. Had to literally call up 3 times just to find out that there were no stocks available and that they had to wait for stocks to come in hence the delay. Pushed for the whole week but ended up getting it shipped after one week. Communications via Ebay was pissed poor and after a few days they locked the refund option there so just go straight to the phoneline for any query or cancellation.

On the other note, the vacuum worked really well. Mapping was a bit of a hassle since our place got a lot of standing furnitures but eventually got it sorted out. Must say it is such a quality of life having a robot vacuum that can do both mop and vacuum at the same time; saved lots of time and my apartment was much cleaner.

  • +1

The ebay item description say 100% Australian stock. Does anyone have experience with them for warranty? Does Roborock honour warranty if bought from AllPhones?

    • +1

They're not an official dealer. Could always get the protection plan if you're worried about it I guess.

  • If only this is the MaxV Ultra.. Have a robovac and cant imagine paying over $1k

  • Can you pay with gift cards with this deal?

    • +1

Yes. I just paid with 8 gift cards.

    • +1

      I did.

  • +4

$350 more for the S7 MaxV Plus with double the suction and AI obstacle avoidance… thoughts on whether it's worth the extra?

  • +1

Thanks, got one. Came to $950 for me with eBay Plus

  • Finally bit the bullet and got one, thanks OP.

  • This one or Roborock Q7 Max+ from JB hifi which also has all these features plus Auto mop-washing; self-refilling & self-emptying.
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/roborock-q7-max-robotic-v…

    • I also want to know this before i bit the bulllet and buy one :)

    • +2

The S7 has an advanced mop that retracts on carpet and vibrates when cleaning whereas the Q7 Max has a standard mop without these abilities. The Q7 Max has stronger suction than the S7. The Q7 Max has a combined dust bin and water tank unit whereas the S7’s dust bin and water tank are two separate containers.

Sounds like the S7 comes out on top if you want to mop? Also deliberating on which model!

      • what about the suction power? S7+ has 2500Pa, where as Q7 Max+ has 4200Pa

        • Good point. I am noticing that the S7+ suction is not advertised as overtly as the Q7 and the MaxV+ also.

        • +1

This ticks both it seems but $350 more https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/780357

        • Watched a bunch of comparisons before landing on this one for myself, cleaning effectiveness in practice seems to be the same.

  • Does anyone know if this is "semi-commercial" spec. We've got an urban sports club with a largish polished concrete floor that's used for social / meetings. A little bit of mud gets brought in by the players but the main thing would be the large area 70 square meters ish, being run after the room is used a few times a week.

  • Someone want to upsell me as to why I should get the S7 instead of this one?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/780429
(Yes I know it's different manufacturers and this product is likely better, but is it more than double the price better?)

    • Roborock support is a known quantity, I've seen mixed reviews about the 360 models. Will probably last twice as long but you can roll the dice?

  • Any deals on the roborock s7 on its own, without auto-empty station?

  • Getting an error when entering the page. Expired?

  • Shows 'out of stock' at the moment

  • Does anyone know what the ETA is before I enquire with them?

    • Back in stock on ebay

  • +1

No idea, but it seems slow. 6 days and no shipping.

    • Back in stock on ebay

  • It's back in stock on ebay but what I find weird is that I only contacted support yesterday and got this message.

Are they known for selling vacuums not in stock?

    Thank you for contacting us.

Apologies, but we do not have any restocking ETA from the local supplier yet.

    Your kind understanding is appreciated.

    • +1

allphones website states 1-2 business day dispatch. but contacting them on ebay they said EOFY delayed logistics

  • Unfortunately i have a split level floor. Can this be picked up and moved to the other level for a weekly clean? Also, can it climb up onto a 1" rug?

    • +1

from what i have read the S7+ can do up to 4 floors (see link below)

      https://support.roborock.com/hc/en-us/articles/900002181666-…

For clearance i am not sure but that sounds high. Dr Google showed this result - The Roborock S7 can cross higher thresholds up to 1.9 cm (0.75 inches).

      https://www.smart-home-fox.co.uk/robot-vacuum-high-threshold#:~:text=The%20Roborock%20S7%20can%20cross,1.9%20cm%20(0.75%20inches).

    Mine's finally dispatched today

  • Must be doing a batch today, as I just got an update as well to say mine has been dispatched.

  • Nothing yet for me. Hopefully soon since you guys got an update

  • +1

Still waiting for mine, have asked about dispatch timeframes

  • I got my money back. Will try again when it's next on sale.

  • Still nothing here, ordered last Sunday. I've messaged about estimated time to dispatch, but I'm not getting too mad unless I see a similar deal soon.

    • for anyone browsing in the future:

      • ordered 18/6
      • no updates til prompted 24/6
      • order arrived in 2 deliveries, 27/6 and 28/6

overall not too bad for free delivery in EOFY madness, and for hundreds less than any other seller. seems like a decent vac and the roborock app is a million times better than mi home. hope this helps someone!

  • I didn't get a response until I lodged item not received with ebay. And after I got a response from them, they refunded it after 2 days.

    • I did get a tracking number, we'll see if anything actually happens with it. This isn't an urgent thing so I'll wait until later in the week before escalating it, but I can't say I'll rush to buy again.

  • +2

    Received mine on the 19/6/23

    • yeah, 10 days for me too
