    Not bad, but Lazio Dark $11.99 the kg from Aldi beats this any day! Buy it fresh!

      Not personally a fan of Lazzio dark, medium is really nice at $15/kg (better than their Brazil single origin at $17/kg imho).

      • Why is the medium one more expensive?

        • +1

          Robusta in the dark one.

          • @Neoika: Not it’s arabica

              @Thrifty Dan: It is a blend. Medium one is pure.

              • @Neoika: Will try the medium next time to see if there’s a difference worth $3 to me.

                @Neoika: THANK YOU!
                This bugs me every time I go into Aldi and no one seemed to know why the prices were different, and why the medium roast was the more expensive.

                This has made me very happy aha

      • What is difference between medium and dark?

        • +2

          The time it's roasted for.

          Medium roast coffee tends to retain more of the original flavors and characteristics of the coffee beans. It offers a balanced taste with medium acidity, medium body, and a range of flavor notes that can include fruity, floral, nutty, or chocolatey undertones.

          Dark roast coffee, on the other hand, tends to have a bolder and more robust flavor. The longer roasting process brings out richer, smoky, and caramelized flavors. Dark roast coffee typically has a lower acidity level and a fuller body.

    • prefer the Medium roast at 14.99
