Zempire Trilogy Hiking Tent $189 + Delivery @ Tentworld

Welcome10

$199, RRP $429.99

Had this on backorder for a while with an ever-changing ETA, before cancelling and purchasing instore last week. Got an email alert this morning saying back in stock for delivery, my inner OZB was sad at paying $10 more as the clerk said their online store is different to instore purchases and cannot be switched.

Took it motorbike camping to the Bunya mountains over the weekend. Excellent tent and great value at the price point, rained all Saturday night and Sunday morning- not a drop inside the tent minus minimal condensation which wasn't bad for 2 people. Have borrowed/ used a few tents for the purpose of motorbike or car camping and have found this to be the most practical for motocamping. Claimed weight is 4.75kg, its actually 4.1kg, not practical for hiking- would personally go for a Naturhike Mongar or Cloudup if you're looking for a lightweight tent.

Interior was spacious enough for myself and the wife, used a clearance BCF wanderer air mattress https://www.bcf.com.au/p/wanderer-insulated-air-bed-queen/60…
and a cheap Kmart inflator, perfect amount of room for myself (180cm tall) as my head or toes weren't touching the mesh- issues I found with the Mongar and Wasp. Vestibule is a great addition, had everything in dry bags and stowed at the front to the side. Opening at the rear will be great for the warmer months.

Biggest selling factor for myself, using dual or solo camp setups on the bike. I can fit my Naturehike Cot in the tent without the added foot pegs and not touch either end of the tent mesh. Only thing I disliked is the bright fly colour, might be an issue to some camping as any exterior light source illuminated half of the fly.

Zempire do a footprint to suit, opted for a heavier duty tarp from home.

4kg? Not sure why they claim it's a "hiking" tent.

    • Yep.

As a solo hiker, definitely not appropriate- Mongar or CloudUp. When I've partnered or group hiked in the past, sharing gear and load is a normal practice as gear, food, utensils and water commonly adds up to 10-12kg per person.

    • Was going to say the exact same thing. My hiking 3 man tent in 90's was only 3kg.
