      Not always the case depending where you are. Say for U91, cheapest at 7/11 in the country atm is 163.5 (Pimpama, QLD). Where I live (NSW), I can find Ampol selling U91 at ~172. With 6% discount it's slightly less than 7/11. Can definitely save more with Westpac + NRMA deal.

        In Melb, my nearest Ampol is 199.9 and fuel lock is 170.9

          worked well if I pick the cheapest day when ampol and 7/11 difference only 4cents. Of course if you use fuel lock you can pump anyday during that week.

            @fishandchips: I’m sure the expiry is long enough that eventually the price will be cheaper filling up at Ampol with this offer. I still have $50 left on a GC from a previous deal that I’m saving for this exact reason.

    An obligatory reminder that around 650 Ampol locations across Australia do not accept AmpolCash Digital gift cards as a payment method. Most of these locations are actually EG Ampol locations, and I mention this, because a lot of people think otherwise. I had to explain to two different customers at my last visit to EG Ampol that they do not accept AmpolCash Digital gift cards and do not accept NRMA/Toyota/Lexus/APOD/Hyundai discounts…

    There is also at least one Ampol franchisee that will not let you use AmpolCash gift cards as a payment method if you are also redeeming a fuel discount offer.

      I remember driving in Tassie in some country side area where Ampol website said they accepted AmpolCash digital gift card and when I got there it was just this run down small garage that didn't have a barcode reader and you had to pay first before getting fuel (American Style) lol.

      Can't trust the Ampol website all the time

        I also do not 100% trust the information on the Ampol location finder. There are two Ampol Foodary locations in Hobart that are not listed as accepting the Woolworths fuel discount offer, even though the pylon on the front says it does and I have redeemed the discount there…

        Btw, I think you can see why I stick to AmpolCash physical gift cards, as their acceptance is much like the acceptance of the AmpolCard (i.e. across all Ampol service stations). No need to mess around with barcode scanners or hoping the franchisee has their POS system updated to accommodate for AmpolCash Digital gift cards..

          some Ampols are listed as EG and EG listed as Ampol and some do the 4c some don't and some you can collect points but not 4c…. fun and games but most people just stick to their usual ones

      Thanks for the reminder. I just avoid any EG or Foodary ones. As long as it has Woolworths on it, they usually accept the gift cards.

      The next challenge is hoping the staff know how to process it…

        Ampol Foodary and Ampol Woolworths MetroGo service stations are both operated by Ampol themselves. The only noticeable differences between the two locations is with the convenience store branding and some of the items stocked within the convenience store. They should both accept AmpolCash Digital gift cards without any hassles.

        I can understand why you would want to avoid EG though. They are not really Ampol service stations.

        The next challenge is hoping the staff know how to process it…

        … and that is why I use AmpolCash physical gift cards instead! No need to mess around with barcode scanners or anything ”sophisticated” like that. That, plus EG (where I fill up) happily accepts AmpolCash physical gift cards.

        Btw, if you are at an Ampol Foodary or Ampol Woolworths MetroGo and the attendant is being difficult when it comes to redeeming AmpolCash Digital gift cards, leave feedback with the Ampol customer care team and they may give you a small AmpolCash Digital gift card as an apology. Fingers crossed you would be able to redeem them on your next visit lol
