  • Anyone feedback from someone who bought one in the previous deal (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/767188)?

Got the XLR coarse brush for a concrete bottom pool 4m*12m. It does a pretty good job vacuuming up a bunch of crap I didn't even see at the bottom of the pool. Brushing action generally seems pretty good too since I now only need to brush the corners, crevices and stairs.

My only concern is recently when it's doing the waterline scrubbing it will sometimes lose contact with the wall and will just float there bubbling for a while. Seems inefficient but this hasn't resulted in a decrease in cleanliness. I'll get in touch with the pool store to see what they say about the behaviour.

100% recommend the caddy if you won't be storing it right next to the pool even though the caddy itself feels a bit flimsy/plastic in build quality. Coiling the cord to store it is a massive pain in the arse and it'd be worse without an easy place to store it + the robot. The caddy cover is also good peace of mind if your pool is far away from cover as I can leave the thing running and not worry about rain getting into the power supply.

Personally I got the previous price going through an affiliated store (see below) and they shipped everything to me for free including the additional ultra-fine filters that I bought separately (haven't tested these yet but will do so this weekend). These filters aren't available on the website last time I checked and can only be ordered by a sales rep or a store. The reason for buying through this pool store is hopefully I can take the pool to this sydney based repair shop for any future warranty repairs rather than having to ship it somewhere. Also it's good to support local business. The ordering process was pretty painless, just email and ask if they can do the deal for you.

What is the difference between these and the X30? I just got an X30 yesterday for $1800, the guy told me they are increasing in price from July and it will cost over $2000

OP the text says this deal starts on the 16th, but the calendar date seems to have moved to the 23rd, could you please confirm the sale period?

  • There’s a combined brush (coarse surface) and a wonder brush (smooth surface) option, if I have a vinyl cover pool, should I go for the wonder brush?

Pretty sure it’s a vinyl pool. This chlorine pool was built in the 1980s and has a blue print.

  • Any deals on the M or S line?

How come the Eclipse range isnt shown in the product comparison page?

Anyone purchasing it this Friday? I’m still undecided and would like to know if they can climb walls. It does look like a rebadged dolphin swash that was previously $999 when on sale.

    • Couldn't find much info on both. I'm buying the Eclipse XL $999. On mydophin website both specs of Eclipse XL & Swash CLX are identical, but the Swash CLX lowest price was $1439.20 according to Ozb. The Swash CL was the one down to $999 with the combined brush. This is my 1st ever robot cleaner so, only time will tell.

      • Yeah there aren’t any YouTube videos or reviews. But I prefer the XLR as the shape of my pool is not regular and the dual brush of the XLR system would be better. Also can’t be bothered getting a second hand caddy from Facebook marketplace so getting it part of the XLR bundle will be easier for me.

For the people who also want to buy their ultra-fine filters at the same time. It's a set of 4 for $131.72. I found it under their parts list, can just add to cart and buy together. Don't need to ask them separately to buy as in previous posts. Here's the link for it:

    • Thanks got one for my purchase.

  • I'm also planning to buy, not sure which model I should go for.. is XLR worth spending $500 extra?

    • from the previous post, subada posted:

XLR has the $340 caddy included (useful for storage and moving the cleaner around, not useful if you leave the cleaner in the pool but this isn't recommended anyway)
XLR has dual brushes which allows it to steer itself better than the XL aka Dual-Drive motor (useful if you have unusual pool geometry)
XLR has programmable timer (only useful if you leave the cleaner in the pool but again this will reduce longevity of the cleaner)
There may be differences in pump speed / motor power but I can't tell from the info I've seen online.

      • Yeah read that before, I'm still undecided, haha.. which model you deciding on? both model climbs wall and does waterline

  • There's generic caddies on ebay for around $40 fyi. Not sure of quality but I'd try one for that price.

    • Is that for the caddy or just a caddy cover for $40?
Only ones I could see for around $40 on eBay were just the caddy cover.

      • Haha whoops, my bad - lucky I didn't buy one, it is indeed only the cover. Need to pay more attention to detail lol.

  • I pulled the the trigger on the XLR, hard to beat for what you get for the price.

  • Just received my robot in nsw today. Bought on Friday. Excited.

    • Nice, I'm still waiting for mine. Let us know how it goes? I also got the fine filters so will be interested to know how they go compared to the standard ones it came with.

    • Nice, that was quick. Did you go for XLR model? I'll really appreciate if you give some review once you use it, cheers..

      • Have used the XLR a few times now and although I don't have anything to compare it too (new pool and never owned one before) I'm very happy with the purchase it cleans the pool really well (I also got the ultra fine filters) and the caddy is a must imo. Hopefully will last the test of time, I'm making sure I hose it down with fresh water and will store it in a shed when not in use.

        • Thanks for your review, glad it's working fine for you, does it climb the steps and cleans top as well? We also never owned pool robot before, currently using crappy suction cleaner that came with the house, it stucks in corners probably thousands of time in each run, lol.. Last week I ordered XL model + ultra fine filters (arriving today), ours is rectangular pool so thought XL may be enough, also thought we won't use remote of XLR model after novelty wears off.. Caddy may not be useful in our case as our storage space for it is right next to our pool, If needed I can always go for much cheaper 2nd hand caddy later on..
