    I have this one, it basically illuminates my keyboard and the desk in front of the monitor, as the light source in my room is behind me and I cast a shadow. I also have a lamp behind my monitor facing the wall, so behind is illuminated as well. I then adjust the brightness to match the light level. I feel it has definitely helped with eye strain.

    Edit: I have this one minus the backlight, hence why I use the lamp. Didn't notice that

    I've had a cheap Kmart Anko one for a couple of years now. Definitely helps with eye strain but also makes whole setup look better imo. My room lights are very average so these light bars are great.
