Been looking at these for a while. I have 1Gbit FTTP Internet at home and am upgrading from a set of the Deco M5's.
Normally for a 3 pack these are well north of $1000 so to find them for $799 delivered is great, and Amazon have stock!
I ordered today, supposedly arriving on Sunday, great!

    $570 on good guys commercial

    • Thanks, that is great price, do you know if there's a way for retail buyers to access TGG Commercial?

      • Tell them you've access to it and can they price match it ..They will

    • Really?
      Wow, that's a great price.
I really wish I could get access to that without jumping through lots of hoops.
I tried for a few days to find a way that either didn't cost or didn't want me to sign up to a Superannuation company without luck.

    • That's not the "Pro" version

      • What does the XE75 Pro go for please at Good Guys Commercial.
I just cancelled my Amazon order based on the $570 comment…
        Facepalm

        • The pro version is not available on TGG Commercial.

          • +1

@willzy: The only difference is the pro has a 2.5GB port on each Deco. I have the non pro version and it is fantastic from TGGC.

            • -1

@mjae01: And the pro is wifi 6e not wifi 6 which the standard xe75 is.

              • +1

                @McGeeski: Rubbish. Xe75 has 6e

                • @mandelbrot: My bad, your right Mandelbrot, I was looking at the x75 which is wifi 6 not the xe75 which has wifi 6e.

Thanks for being tactful about it though.

            • +1

@mjae01: The 2.5gbe ports are only useful if you have your home network wired up as 2.5gbe. Otherwise it's useless for almost everyone else since they'll be constrained by the internet connection (1gbps fibre at most for majority) or max speed of the wireless (1.2gbps at most).

  • Been using this for awhile, so far so good! however the settings are quite limited, its great if you don't really care of the details

  • anyone rate the deco app? i can tell you the eero app is pretty shite :P

    • +2

I have been using the Deco app for ages for my sets of M5.
I think it works really well.
Nothing I have not been able to do on it…

      • Unless you'd like to schedule a power saving mode (e.g. turn off wifi at night). The old tp link routers enabled this, which is a good idea, but that functionality disappears with the mesh routers (at least on the x20)

    • I don't have this model but the app itself has pros and cons.

Personally I've found that upload and download speeds it shows for individual devices is woefully inaccurate. Certain notifications for existing devices connecting seem random and inaccurate.

But showing which devices are connected to which point, access control permissions, notifications on new devices or connections seem to be quite good.

So depending on what you need, it might do the job well or be rubbish.

Anything in particular you'd want to see in the app?

  • This was around $550 on Amazon AU via Amazon U.K not long ago. Granted, it will come with UK power plugs, but $5 travel adaptors will soon negate that issue as the voltage is the same.

    • UK one is very weak, you need to buy more to get the same signal strength.

      • Do the UK version of routers have less transmission power? Can that not be changed with the region setting?

I just cancelled the Amazon purchase and brought it on eBay (with plus) @ https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/125556463212 for $666.85 with a SEOFY22 code.
So just to be clear, that is the XE75 Pro (3 pack) delivered for $666.85!
Not sure why I didn't check eBay but thanks to whoever called that out!

You can also get a two unit pack for sub $500 on eBay now from Australian businesses with au power plugs. Just use the relevant codes.

  • How would this compare to the Google Nest Mesh wifi? I bought the triple pack yesterday for about $344.

    • +2

Google nest mesh wifi is quite old and outdated. Plus it's only wifi 5, so can't compete with wifi 6 or 6e mesh

      • +1

Well I got scammed then it seems. I wonder if I can send them back to Google.

        • The Nest Pro version is soon to be released so yeah not a good time to buy the current version

          • @voldemort: Damn. My brother recommended it. I mean as long as it does serve my 200mbps internet I'll be happy.

You reckon the ping would be effected on wifi 5? In gaming that is.

  • I have a TPLink modem router - If I am right these mesh just act as EXT/AP , please correct me if I am wrong.

Ever since moving the TPLink inside a room post FTTP connection, I am having dead spots and my EXT arent working great.

So considering Google Mesh which if I am right comes with 1 * modem router and 1-2 mesh.

    • Deco XE75 Pro is a router with Wi-Fi 6E mesh access points. Nest Wi-Fi is a router with Wi-Fi 5 mesh access points. Nest Wi-Fi doesn't have a VDSL2 modem and you don't need a VDSL2 modem on nbn FTTP in the first place. Plugin the Deco or Nest Wi-Fi router to the nbn NTD.

What speed did you choose? Do you have any Wi-Fi 6 laptops, phones and so on?

      • +1

Thank you for your reply Twix.

Good to know I don’t need a modem for FTTP - embarrassing 🙈.

I am with Aussie 100/20. WRT wifi 6, I don’t think we have any device at home.

        • +1

The nbn NTD and a router is all you need for FTTP. Nest Wi-Fi is fast enough for 100/20. Nest Wi-Fi can do a maximum of around 920Mbps wired and up to around 650Mbps with Wi-Fi 5.

          • +1

@Twix: Thanks again for the quick response - did you mean the google nest wifi?

            • @Toshi: Yep Google Nest Wi-Fi.

              • +1

                @Twix: Perfect ! Have a good weekend!

3 pack for $588 on Amazon, U.K. stock.

    • UK routers…. Urrgggh

      • @mandelbrot Do the UK version of routers have less transmission power? Can that not be changed with the region setting?

        • +1

Correct. No I don't believe region settings will allow you to set the power higher, although firmware update may work for certain routers

  • Such a Scam Wifi 6E, just because it's the latest and greatest they think they can charge $500+
