Nice. Next best thermos to a zojirushi.

600ml sand for $27.74 too for anyone chasing a fuller mouthful and an extra inch in size. Which I am.

      Upvote for magnificent phrasing.

    • Zojirushi is the goat

I’ve had a cough, and the doc has suggested drinking warm water. I fill up my zojirushi in the morning, and end of the day it’s still warm. Even overnight it maintains a good temperature

      • Link/deals?

      • I just find Zojirushi has the best colour / design between Tiger / Thermos.

Just back from Japan and to be honest this price is very similar to what you pay in a local store.

    • Haha bragging much

I have a Stanley and Thermos flask that keeps the contents hot/cold for 24 hours, what is so special about these 6 hour flasks from Japan?

    • +2

I have a range of thermos’s and many other brands. Very little difference in capacity to keep cold drinks cold, but anecdotally, I can keep hot drinks really hot for at least 50% longer in my zojirushi’s than the thermos. Tigers are reputed to be almost as good, but I won’t know till I receive my black one in a week or two.

I have a thermos handy pot and it also claimed to keep water hot for 24 hours. In reality, it’s like 4 hours until it gets lukewarm, so it’s exaggerated.

      • Interesting. I had no problem with my Thermos during 12 hour night shifts on sites without access to power. It was still too hot to sip near the end of the shift. Maybe the ambient temperature gave me an advantage.

I do also have a thermos 500ml bottle and it retains heat significantly better. The handy pot is 2L so that could also be another factor

      • I believe Thomas had a good reputation, but few items that i bought recently are real crap

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but country of origin says China. Whilst this price is on par with stores in Japan, I find the quality of the made in China flasks to be no better than anything local here.

Granted the actual made in Japan ones are easily 2x the price, but if it's made in China I don't really vouch for the quality even if it's a reputable brand like Tiger or Zojirushi.

  • my Zojirushi made in Thailand tho.

  • Any recommendation for insulated kids lunch box please? Kid brought thermos food jars to school but all commented the food is "cold" when they eat during lunch time, which is around 4-5 hrs after cooking. And I also preheat the thermos by putting in boiling hot water for at least 5-10 minutes before putting in the piping hot food straight off the stove.

    • Was never a problem with Vegemite or devon sandwiches that were served up in my day…

Have you considered a mobile Bain Marie?
