No cable ties no deal! Good price by the way!

    • +7

But they do include 55 terminals for you to crimp so that's a plus.

      • +10

Reminds me of the days you got Gameboy cards with 55 games in 1, or 250 games in 1. Where its just 11 games repeated but with slightly different names.

      • +1

Of course they include the 55 terminals. Otherwise they'd have to call them 92 and 57 piece kits :)

      • +6

Depends how you use them. Could be a negative.

    • +4

I am happy to sell you 147 pieces of cable ties for $39.99.
      PM me ;p

  • +3

Nice one. Not sure about the quality but not going to scrutinise too hard at this price.

    • +5

I bought a more basic tool kit from Kmart for $20 when I moved house 3 years ago and was still waiting for the house contents to catch up. I've gotten so much use out of it since then. This deal would've been way better if it was available at the time.

  • +10

These kinds of deals make you call BS on their hyper-inflated RRP. Great price for a basic set of tools though.

    • +3

RRP may be too high but these discounted prices are dirt cheap. Imagine each piece in the set averaging just 30 cents. That's crazy.

  • +5

Nice. Tool box alone probably worth that much. Grabbed one. Thanks OP.

(edit: yup, verified. $35 for a worse box https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/sca-sca-handy-tool-box/5…)

    • Good to know, thanks.

Thanks OP. Got me one as well.

    • +12

Ehh, still would rather get Zinger Box delivered and just continue not to repair anything.

  • +1

Nice box got it few years ago in $40

    • How are the quality of the tools?

      • +2

Its nice set, using it rarely but going strong since 4 years, never faced any issue.

      • all flat SCA screw drivers are chipped half when i used for rust screws , dont use them too hard… very average quality.

i prefer dewalts sets from costco they discount a lot from time to time

        • Fair comment but I have some flat screwdrivers already, I don't have a ratchet set and the other stuff in here so it's still a good buy for noobs like me without tools I reckon.

    • Second this, I have one bought it 4 years ago did couple of jobs still good.

  • +10

Nice, worth it for the toolbox alone. Good price. Unfortunately not much stock around

found pickup stock on ebay https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/193383700937

    • +4

Thx. Got it for $34.99 with $5 off voucher.

      • +1

        same here, thanks cyrax!

        • +2

My local SCA cancelled the pick up order after calling me and informing there wasn't any stock. I've tried other stores that show in store, and I'm getting an error. For VIC bargainers, the closest store in stock is SCA Moe as thats were my delivery is being shipped from

          • +2

@dealoverlord: I have to visit family in Moe on Sunday. Perfect pick up location. Thanks for that!

    • Can see click and collect/pick up option on my ebay.

    • Thanks.
No stock for C&C anywhere near me in Geelong/Melbourne, so I reluctantly had to pay for delivery.
Interesting delivery charges between SCA website v their eBay site:
      QTY SCA WEBSITE eBAY WEBSITE
      1 $53.98 incl. $13.99 delivery $54.78 incl. $19.79 delivery -$5 Plus discount
      2 $100.97 incl. $21.19 delivery $102.57 incl. $27.59 delivery -$5 Plus discount

I ended up ordering 3 via SCA's website.

    • Thanks for the link! Was able to do the same despite no SCA stock in store within 100kms

  • +4

Bruh, how was this $149 originally haha

    • +1

i think you forget how much this kit can cost if priced individually, would probably come out to $300 plus..

hammer alone you cant get for less than $5 ?
      tape measure .. $7?

      • 100% you can price this out individually and have it under $150 with some better quality tools as well. They won't be SCA branded tools, but there is definitely cheaper and better to be had at the price bracket

        • +1

150 vs 39.99 tho the steel box alone is worth $30

  • I'd buy if it came with a rivet gun kit and some clamps but I don't want all the surplus stuff with it lol.

How many people actually buy this and never use.. It's crazy really

    • +2

This is ideal for 1st time tool owners. It covers a wide range.

      • or when you need 2nd protentionaly sacrificial socket set etc.

    • +1

They had piles of rivet guns for $2 on clearance at the front. SA

    • I just need a single socket wrench to clean my Breville Smart Grinder..

  • +2

Nice, now to decide if use in car or shed as 2nd / 3rd set lol.

    • Haha, same, I have an Ozito plastic box, pretty sturdy and I like it, then I got the SCA wheeled chest/box from a few weeks ago and now this.. 😅

I have the chest/box in garage, plastic ozito in back of car for jumpers and random extra bits. No shed so not sure where this one is going.. 😅

  • +2

The $39 seems out of stock "everywhere"

Is there a site like the bunnings one where you can check stock levels nationwide?

  • Danke!

  • No stock anywhere for the 147 Pc so hopefully they have enough in the warehouse.

      • Doesn't work, I did this and the store called me and told me it wasn't in stock, and cancelled the order

        • +1

It was worth a try :P

        • +1

Same thing happened to me. The only difference being I politely requested the lady on the phone to try and organise one from another store…and she said she'll get it delivered!
Have already received the AusPost notification saying it'll be shipped. Ended up paying $35 with a $5 voucher I had on my eBay account.

  • I really hope not many bought these at full RRP hence the price slash.. still not great value IMO, but a decent deal for those who might not have a kit or just adding another set to shed or garage.

  • Paid more than this for one Wera ratcheting screwdriver the other day.

  • Great Price Thanks OP !

  • +2

My experience with SCA tools? Not great. But then, so many for that price? Not much to lose.

  • Thanks, toolbox can fit the Sidchrome metric custom kit socket set perfectly.

    • interesting…i grabbed the sidchrome set as well. have you tried it?
      edit: just measured…different dimensions

      • I meant like, shove the whole foam insert (w/ sockets) inside the middle of the toolbox, the hammer etc. fits ontop (i also put the white foam packaging ontop of the insert) and can close.

      • Which sidchrome set are we walking about?

        • The recent snag deal 1/4" & 3/8" 62 Piece I believe.

  • I want it.
But I already have most of the tools, probably one of them costs more than this entire kit.
Why do I still want this?

    • +4

When someone asks to borrow a tool, reach for this kit vs the good stuff ).

  • Both great sets. I've been using the cheaper one for six years (it's changed a bit in appearance since then but clearly the same fundamental product) and I've gotten so much use out of it. One of my better purchases. Don't need fancy pants brand names for screwdrivers and wrenches for what the average person is doing around the home and on their car.

  • +5

Wouldn't get too excited about the quality, they look like your basic $2 Shop type tools

  • Thanks OP!

  • +1

Stock is still available if you pay for delivery $9.99.

    • Says Delivery Unavailable for me

  • 112 piece still available for $30 vs $50 (Inc shipping) for the 147.

  • Just to note, 112 piece is only box with top shelf. 147 piece is cantilever if that matters to anyone.

  • Bunnings set is a a little more versatile to me.

    Has ruler and scissor

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/craftright-75-piece-carry-case-t…

  • +2

Just picked up the 112piece one for $23.99 (club credit). The tool box alone is worth that. Lots of space for tools. Great deal

  • $39 should have been the original RRP.
Who the heck was paying $139?!

    • +1

I got mine for $90 five years ago and tbh it's been very useful and has never let me down.

  • +4

buying it just for the 10mm socket lol

    • +1

Magnetic deep sockets is all you need. Get it right and buy once

      • and what about when you lose that said socket

  • 13oz Ball pein hammer

    niiice

  • I am looking for portable tool chest comes with drawers. Does anyone happen to know any tool chest like this https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/272830197500?chn=ps&_ul=AU&mkevt… that can open drawers without having to open top lid? Been looking for one for a while… but all require to open top lid first. I understand It can prevent drawers from sliding out but I think with the lock is enough. There is another similar: https://www.wiggle.com/au/p/lifeline-pro-3-drawer-work-stati…, but the same, requies top lid to open first.

  • Ordered on ebay for click and collect in wa store. Checked on their website and none of the shop showing in stock. But I think they managed to ship it to my store and ebay status showing ready for collection. Happy with their service.

    • My ebay order still being prepared. Atleast not cancelled yet

    • Half your luck. I did the same on Friday and they simply did nothing about supplying the order. I followed them up yesterday and today they cancelled the order and issued a refund.

Now I can't get one at all, because it's sold out for delivery on their website too.

  • Damn, 147 kit out of stock everywhere near Sydney. eBay is out of stock too.
