  I understand you probably need this for proper drawing etc but for everyday use is it any different than a metapen?

    I tried both, pressure sensitivity on the original one is a must for proper drawing in my opinion.

    For everyday use like writing notes, editing photos in Lightroom/Photoshop (selecting mask area), adding markup in PDF, the $30 one from eBay works just fine.

    9th gen only supports 1st generation Apple Pencil. Apple stores can only price match up to 10% of original price.

  We're about due for gen 3 I think. Whenever the next major iPad Pro refresh comes around. Maybe they'll finally build in air tag into it. My money is on March next year.

    Yep, need a find my feature - friggen lost mine and I know it’s around somewhere in my home - but can’t justify buying another one! Tempted to get a $40 clone off AliExpress tho.

  Cheers OP! Had a refurb one ordered from Apple for $169. Will return the refurb tomorrow and wait for the new one when it’s delivered :)
