      Ive owned a 2021, 2022 lg gram 14
      (1240p, 1260p i5 i7)

That battery life is highly doubted.

2021 and 2022 benchmarks said the same but reality much lower.

Regardless it's a great laptop. The fault is intel. The cpu uses too much power. 35watts

It's a performance mid range model not ultrabook.

If you want more battery life you need 1335U series which is 9-15watts. Less performance. Less performance cores.

The Intel i7 1360p has a max TDP of 64w. No way will you get those hours of usage out of it, especially in the LG chassis with that type of cooling. The 1360p will be throttling all the time.

      https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/232155/…

Notebookcheck already did reviews of 12th and 13th gen P series CPUs and the biggest issues was that they went straight away up to 64w when doing any type of workload, which increased the amount of heat generated and reduced battery life, because the cooling systems couldn't keep up.

Dont shoot the messenger, simply copy pasted what was on the website.

  • I have one of these - main gripe is that they got rid of the fingerprint sensor. Not a big fan of windows hello with face unlock.

I also ended up turning off the LG glance etc features.

Pros: USB C and A ports whereas a lot of new laptops only have USB C

    • Agree miss the fingerprint reader. More useful than face.

Rest of laptop is good. Best spec and price in market for ports.
2022 model was cheaper baseline though.

    • main gripe is that they got rid of the fingerprint sensor.

That's one of the best features imo; got it on my power button so it's usually a one click login turn on/login

    • I agree. On my desktop I have a kensington fingerprint reader and a Windows Hello webcam. I'll take the fingerprint sensor any day.

You can get little USB ones for laptops, but none of that is ideal - having the sensor in the power button is too obvious I suppose.

Excluding the Macbooks and maybe some obscure ultra thins or something i think you're off the mark saying that a lot of new laptops only have USB C.
Was laptop shopping yesterday, Dell and Lenovo online and never stumbled across a single machine, not one that had only USB C.

Wifey got a previous model 16" about a year ago, also i7, also 512GB and 16GB RAM for around the $2k mark. I'd probably really like the form factor and weight of this model for myself. But not in the market presently.

  • I'm waiting for the zenbook S 13 with ryzen processor to come out in Aus. Hope it can be a good price too lol

  • LG Gram Style 14 is also 1kg but gets the 90Hz 2.8k 120Hz 500-nit OLED LCD and corning glass palmrest. Looks the goods too. Guessing it come out after June 30th and cost more.
