No way is it 1100 Lumens
Aldi have a USB-C rechargeable headlamp coming up for $10

    • Why do you think a 16340 lithium battery cannot produce 1100 lumens light in a torch?

    • Do you have a link to the ALDI headlamp?

        Not comparable to the HS10

        • BMW LEXUS v VW

        • LOL, is that a joke from donkcat? Might as well find a $5 headlamp from other junk shops.

1100 lumens from a Samsung LH351D is perfectly reasonable in turbo mode.

Of course it will heat up rapidly, so will only sustain that for about 60 seconds. Sustained lumens will be about 300 or 400 for 30 mins or so, decreasing over time after that as battery voltage drops.

It's a 800mAh 16340 battery powered micro headlamp, so run time is not huge.

It's aimed at those who need a super lightweight option (37g no battery) - such as runners or climbers.

It is also a decent option for emergency use, since it can run from CR123A batteries.

I don't have one (but I do like my other Sofirn lights), and if I needed ultra lightweight then this would be appealing. It's IPX8 waterproof, has a magnetic tail cap, clip option and USB-C charging.

Turbo mode is handy when you need to light up a decent sized area for a short time. No small light can sustain it for long - mostly due to needing to throttle to avoid overheating.

The Aldi headlamps are great for what they are (and all many people need), but are not a comparable product.

      • I have this one and it is very good. The only problem is the battery only last for an hour.

1118 on turbo according to RO https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIrk9d96SIA&ab_channel=Richa….

      Tiny battery = short runtimes.

Not sure about Lumens but it is bright.
But the battery does not last long.

Have one of these, it's been handy for the few odd tasks I've used it for

Agreed got this one from another deal. Comes in hand my and can get pretty bright. Also better than sucking on a torch.

      • Haha totally agree! So much better than sucking a torch!

      • That's not the only thing that comes in hand 😉

D25L 1000lm with 18650 battery is on sale at sofirnlight for $US14.69
    SP40A $US19.99
    Sofirn SC31T Pro Tactical $19.99
    - all less if you find a coupon (I've used up the standard new user coupon so can't test at the checkout)

Good idea to check their Flash Sale and Clearance offers before buying at AliEx or Amazon. Sometimes they're cheaper, sometimes the "Au" Amazon coupons are the best available prices.
Ozbargain won't publish deals from sofirnlight.com but I and many others have bought many products from them with no problems. They are part of the sofirn business.

Yeah I have bought from Sofirnlight.com before without issue.

~$62 AUD for the SP33S is also fantastic value IMO. It's one of the best low cost options if you want to be able to sustain decent lumens in a pocketable form factor.

~$50 for the IF25A is also a great deal - though similar price to Aliexpress atm. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000992862148.html

    • Still waiting for Sofirn to release the SC31T Pro with 5000K LED light. Don't like the 6500K cool white light, it makes everything looks washed out.

  • +2

It's a good headlamp, have used it a few times. Very small and light. Run time is the only problem on higher outputs.

I wish Sofirn still made the HS05 (using 14500 lithium or AA cells). It was in my opinion the perfect size/weight and light output. I find the 18650 style headlamps a bit heavy.

  • I bought this Sofirn HS10 Headlamp about a year ago. The included battery has a long shelf life, so 2 months without use and it will still last for hours when needed.
I chose the 2700K as I like warm white, I would choose 4000K if I could buy it again as it provides a more true colour of the environment the the light is focused on.
Adjusting the light angle is unique as you have to rotate the whole light, but it's tight enough to stay in your chosen position even after sitting in a backpack,
but not too tight to make it difficult to adjust the light angle. I'm not a fan of the type of light it casts, as in bright in the centre and darker at the outside,
I prefer a light that casts an even round light which I find more useful.

    • I have the 4000K version and I have mine clipped to my messenger bag strap.

Having it attached to the strap means rotating it in the included clip aims the light up or down which is perfect for where I have it secured since I use it to light the footpath in front of me when I'm walking down dark streets or trails and it allows me to aim it higher for when I'm trying to use keys to get into my home.

If you'd prefer more of a flood type beam pattern, you'll find better options in non-headlamp flashlights. It will usually mean sacrificing range and overall peak brightness but there are options out there.
