    Gave my twister to a homeless dude cause KFC would not serve him. He didn't have a phone to order via the app.
    I guess KFC can't be expected to feed the people at their lowest, even if they want to pay for it.

      Tried to do the same, picked up 3 out of 4 ordered ate one and took the other 2 down to a supermarket where there is usually a homeless person sitting out the front but no one was there so going home with 2, well dinner is sorted for later and I can add tomato to them.

      I have almost the same story, but there was a homeless person next to me ordering a $1 Twister on their iPhone 14 Pro Max. We struck up a short conversation about the JobSeeker payment being totally inadequate, but they did say it helped a lot not to be paying rent. Anyway, I hope they enjoyed their Twister!

        Funny that. I don't blame that person, but what a world; We have easy access to pocket super-computers… but a basic fundamental element of life, shelter, is almost becoming a premium luxury.

          I think the key thing to remember is that more people benefit from the rental crisis than are disadvantaged by it. The sad reality is that the minority that suffers are largely swept under the carpet

        Living homeless aint cheap either. If you have belongings you want to keep in storage the costs add up. The nights you stay at motels etc are expensive too. I looked into it ages ago, storage would have costed about half of what it does to rent where I am —with no roof over my head at the end of all of that

          Great point about storage prices — it certainly doesn’t make sense to be paying for storage if you are homeless. You need to be putting every cent of that saved rent money to productive use

            @tharlow: I rent and have belongings, furniture, white goods etc. If i became homeless and hoped to find a place again one day I'd have to put the stuff in storage, otherwise i'd have to start over from scratch one day. I suppose one could sell all of their stuff of they thought it would be really long term and not worth it. But unless you have family that can keep your stuff in storage then finding and paying for storage would be a pretty big cost while temporarily homeless

              @Rain Cloud: Yes, you are quite right — your scenario is the most sensible outlook. Hopefully homelessness is temporary, and storing your memorabilia is the best way to manage the situation. If a somewhat more pessimistic person assumed that the housing situation is going to get worse before it gets any better, and was male and able-bodied, for example, they might take the extreme view that living out of a backpack is 1. the best social statement of discontent, and 2. the only way to muster any sense of choice with poverty-level income

        That screwed up for me today, guessing it depends on how you do it.
        I payed yesterday and tried to collect today and they couldn't find my order. When I pressed in restaurant the app got stuck loading, retried same, tried drive through and it got past and gave me the correct screen but order never showed up on their systems, told them in store I selected drive through but nothing.

        Maybe if I just added to cart yesterday and payed today it may have worked, haven't tried that.

        Said it for over 90 mins. I assume it's the stores way to weasel out of honouring the deal. I cancelled and wrote them an email.

      I had that issue when I logged out to order one for my husband and then logged back in. Basically just tell the staff and they can ‘check in’ for you on their screen as they can still see it.
