Happy Friday folks

Not sure when the sale ends but looks to be an EOFY deal if I’m guessing.

Not the hugest discount but looks like there haven’t been many decent ones recently.

    I'm always happy on Fridays

  • $345 on Amazon, will wait for better deal

  • I picked up a pair of basically brand new Bose QC 45s off eBay for $185.

Currently you can find solid deals on Open Box or Excellent Condition used QC45s on eBay/Gumtree/Marketplace.

Every one I see on marketplace is more than a new one

    • Never heard about Open Box, what is it?

Returned due to change of mind, accidentally opened, display unit etc. very American term.

If your Bose ever break you’re out of luck. For a premium brand with premium prices I was so disappointed in their lack of options for servicing or repair I swore never to purchase from them again.

I had a QC35 II that had a minor issue which prevents it from being shut down very rarely (about once a month). The fix was to plug the power cable in and out, and it gets fixed. Apparently this was a known issue, and Bose was accepting units with this problem and replacing them with brand new ones. I opened a warranty claim online once I knew about this, and they accepted to replace mine with a brand new QC 45 at no additional cost, and even sent me a free shipping label to post the "faulty" item back to them. I received the new item 4 days after I posted out the old one.

Their incredible support could only mean that they value me highly as a customer, and I promised to NEVER buy another brand of headphones again. Plus, their headphones have exceptional noise cancelling (the QC45 is insanely good and I cannot even hear people talk in an office setting).

      Had completely the opposite experience.

I had a paid of QC35s that would either not turn off, or turn off but then turn back on randomly, seemingly the same issue as CocaKoala.

They were almost 6 years old at that point. I had the problem for several months before I contaced their support, but right after I did, the QC35s started working normally. I re-contacted support and told them the headphones seemed to be OK now. They still told me to send them in.

Long story short, I ended up with a brand new pair of QC45s.

Mine were bought in the UK and i couldn’t find a way to get them fixed. Maybe it was a regional/distributor issue.

Accept your experience was completely different to mine though!

      • Mine are around 4 year old and bose just gave me a discount to buy the qc45 for $325. How did u get it replaced for free?

        • I wish I could say there was some secret to it, but I just contacted them and they said to send them back for replacement.

I remember the support person telling me that their warranty was X years long. I can't remember exactly how long they said, but I remember being very surprised at how long it was. I think they might have said 5 years, but don't quote me.

I bought my QC35 in September 2016, and returned them in May 2022, so they were outside the 5 years as well…

          Must've got lucky.

Wow 45s cost more…each person has their own preference but the 700s are my favourite compared to the 45, xm4/5 and air pod max..

A lot cheaper then when originally released!

  • +1

Good price - I bought the 700s at the end of last year.
These were great for those horrible ms teams meetings

  • Rumour has it that Bose is releasing new one this year. Hence the discounted 700.

    • Would make sense, the 700s are going on 4 years old so it shouldn’t be a shock to anyone

  • My QC35s are still going strong. Worth upgrading?

    • See if you're able to replace your QC35 for a brand new QC45 in case it has that power related issue. :-)

      • Hmm.. will look into it. They are over 7 years old with no receipt.

I just had to provide my serial number to check eligibility. It's under the earcup. Just start the procedure and see how you go because it costs nothing and Bose were incredibly nice to deal with.

What's the equivalent for sound quality if you don't give a crap about noise cancellation?

I have a pair of Sony WMX4s and while the noise cancellation absolutely lives up the hype I fine it more a pain the arse.
