I needed a click on adapter set but the delivery was the same price as the adapter. Finally got it. Thanks!

    • +3

Haha same. True oz style. Desperately needed it, still wouldn't buy it because shipping matched the cost

    • I lost my adapter, went to order a replacement and saw a picture on their site of the adapter clicked onto a weednfeed/cleaner product. Checked the shed and there it was! Ordered a backup just in case.

      • +1

Lol this is literally what I Need the adapter for. Weed and Feed!

        • Can I suggest separating your weeding from your feeding. Weed and feed often just ends up feeding your weeds (particularly non-broadleaf weeds). You're better off dealing with the weeds separately.

          • @NigelTufnel: Hey mate, thanks for your tip. I'm actually not that great at gardening so advice is appreciated =).

So the main problem weeds which I "weed and feed" are on the grass. There are simply too many to manually pull out. Do you have any suggestions on how I should deal with those?

Any weeds that are between bricks or on the foot path / not in the grass I weed with a pretty strong chemical so those die. I just cannot get on top of the weeds in the grass.

            • @MrMoo: Depends somewhat on the weeds you have and your turf type.

If you don't have buffalo, and have mostly broadleaf weeds then something with Dicamba will smash most. E.g. this from Bunnings. Bow and Arrow is great if you have buffalo and lasts forever.

              Grassy weeds are trickier.
If you have nutgrass, then you need something like sedgehammer.

For all I would recommend a spray gun for proper application too. Backpack if you have a big lawn.

Also once under control, pre-emergent like oxafert will stop them coming back.

              • @NigelTufnel: Hey buddy, thanks for this!

I do have a little spray gun which I use.

I have buffalo grass so I think this is the one i'll give a go:
                https://lawnpride.com.au/products/bow-arrow-500ml-herbicide

I think we do have a little Nutgrass that came in this autumn so i'll look into the sedgehammer too.

I did have one question regarding the spray gun. I use it with some pretty strong weed killer, is it just as simple as giving it a wash, pouring out the water into a drain and then I'm good to use the above herbicides on the grass? I don't want anything mixing and then killing my entire lawn on accident lol.

                • @MrMoo: Yeah, Bow and Arrow will get most of them.
I'd probably go a triple rinse. Initially with some dishsoap, then plain water twice making sure to spray through the nozzle as you're cleaning.

You can also add a drop of dishsoap to the herbicide when spraying too to help it stick to the leaves. Or get the lawnpride "weed & feed" pack which comes with the surfactant and some proper fertiliser. Pretty good value at $89…

                  • @NigelTufnel: Thanks for the tips!

Also thanks for telling me to spray through the nozzle as I'm cleaning. I literally didn't think of this, would have been pretty stupid to wash the tank 3 times and then spray out a jet of old herbicide onto the grass lol.

  • I saw that earlier but didn’t post because it is not a bargain.

    • +14

I need a part also but because of the usual $7.95 delivery cost have put off ordering, so this is a deal for me. Hundreds of people upvote $20 giftcard deals with a bonus $2 cashback and the like, and on both a dollar value and a percentage saving basis this is a much better deal if you happen to have a need for the product…it's all relative, but there's no need to be disparaging about it if the deal's not for you - just move on.

  • oh this is perfect! was putting off buying the cover because of shipping.

  • What’s people’s take on hoselink? Decent? Worth the money?

I’ve got basic Bunnings hoses at the four corners of the house, and they work pretty much fine.

    • +3

      Depends.

My Bunnings hoses kinked and were crap.

      These are great but overpriced.

    • Good. Yes. Yes.

I got put through the ringer at Bunnings returning a battery hedge trimmer the other day, 24h after purchase 100% clean cause I never used it as it was DOA (lights on battery not responding, no response from charger when battery put on it). Crap item, crap experience.

Hoselinks customer service is top notch, I have lots of their stuff and for the odd replacements and spare part I needed they've been great. Bunnings, they 'might' easily swap your item, but only for one that'll break quicker since their stuff becomes more trash by the day.

    • These are great, I have one. although i purchased during their 15% off sale which only ended a few days ago.

    • +2

Had a 30m hoselink hose and fittings for about 3 years. Works flawlessly and rarely get a hosekink in the hoselink and no issue with the fittings either pulling off or detaching.

      Worth the extra $$ IMO.

    • @WinniLovingWinni

I have 2 x hoselink hose reels and they are A+
Can't believe I did without them for so long.
Quality is excellent. No kinking. They just work.
      100% recommend.

    • +3

      Not worth it for me.

My hose reel stopped retracting just outside of warranty. Now I have a very expensive hose that is coiled up over the hose cock.

      • same here

    • Hoselink is the only tap connector I found that doesn't leak like crazy when I attach a hose to my pressure washer. +1 recommended from me.

      • I'm struggling to figure out which connections to buy because I have this very issue. Just a normal hose setup but the connecter ends are cheap plastic ones that are obviously sun damaged. Could you please shoot a link if you get a chance?

    • Excellent quality and worth the money, would definitely recommend

  • I need a new 30m hose on a reel. Anything better about than these guys?

    • +1

They are Australian designed, ads are down to earth, and hose can pull a car.

    • +1

nope. chatted all things lawns with a coworkers partner who does lawns for real rich people, said they were worth the money and the support people were great to deal with

  • -2

    Free shipping isn't a bargain.

  • +2

Great quality hoses albeit a little expensive.
Probably cheaper than replacing the crappy Bunnings ones every other year though

  • +1

    Overrated and expensive.
There attachments and hose triggers are also bulky and just crappy to use.

Run into them at customers houses and so many of them don’t reel up smoothly or just get stuck

I’ve had two of these for 2+ years with zero issues

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/gardena-30m-roll-up-retractable-…

    • +1

I've got two hose links, never had issues with them reeling up. The sprayer isn't great though - both have broken.

The attachment system itself is awesome though

      • attachment system

That's what got them rich/popular, rest just fill in inventions.

  • +1

Another happy customer for many years. Bought the 30 meters hose reel and few other stuff. You pay for what you get.

  • It should be free shipping for items over $200 anyway

  • Agree, love the no leak system but sprayers keep on breaking.

  • Are the connectors better than brass or stainless steel swivel quick connector?

This post looks like there are heaps of paid reviewers…

No price or product in the description nor title but still gets 50+ positive reviews :S

Had a look through their website, it is expensive! I don't know their quality, it does look good, but it is sure expensive for just watering my garden.

    • Neighbour has one. I wouldn't have it. Too heavy , bulky

  • These hoselink things are cheaper on the woolies website with free shipping.

    woolworths.com.au/shop/search/products?searchTerm=everyday%20market%20&pageNumber=1&filter=Vendor(Hoselink)

  • Got a text from them yesterday promoting the free shipping, so put some items in the cart and went as far as payment page still with no free shipping. Sent query to them, but no response so far however did get a welter of text messages about my "forgotten" cart (no it wasn't).

Good old OzB now I see there’s a code to be entered, which hasn’t been mentioned in any of their messages. It worked. Thanks OP.

Re-quality etc. I’ve bought numerous items over many years and found them to be excellent, indeed, I’ve converted every hose and attachment I own as these are so much less likely to leak. You do need occasional maintenance of things like O-rings or lubrication of levers then it’s back to normal. Yes a little more expensive than the leaky rubbish you get elsewhere, but I feel very much worth it.

  • Over $200 LOL
