[VIC] RACV Emergency Roadside Assistance Cover 1 Year for $10 for New Customers @ arevo Fuel Finder App

100

Downloaded the Arevo app and registered (free).
I checked out the petrol prices in the area.
An offer was emailed a day or two later, saying because I'd checked the fuel prices, I could get $10 RACV Emergency Roadside Assistance (if I am a new customer).
It had a t.arevo.com.au email address.

If I remember this right, a company can set up prefixes. Prefixes are separated from the main site by a period.
So arevo.com.au set up a prefix of t, and used t.arevo.com.au to send the email.

Other symbols are definitely not okay.
t-arevo.com.au would be suspicious.
t_arevo.com.au would be suspicious, etc

It says in the T&C "A RACV staff member will contact you to process the $10 payment. " (assuming you are a new customer)

  • So you downloaded the app and registered?

    • Have you tried registering then ask Arevo for the deal?

  • I registered and signed in using mobile only, it didn’t ask me for email. Am I missing something?

    • I was asked for my email when registering.

      • Thanks. I received an email for the offer despite it not asking for my email. I think I might have signed up before this!

  • Hi OP!!
How you managed to sign-up with email?
There's only option to join via mobile number.
    Your help is needed. Thanks

    • I was asked for my full name and email address upon registration.

  • Thanks for the post. However I did not receive the above offer after signing in and providing my email. I will keep everyone posted if that changes. Otherwise don't waste your time.

  • I thought after verifying with sms code, it asked for name and email.
However, I still haven't received any email from them yet - not even a welcome email.

  • +1

What is the claim now hyperlink?

    • It seems to be a personalized link, that will tell RACV that you are interested in the offer.

  • any deal for nsw?

  • +1

    Posting for a friend.
    Double check the receiving email.
He is suspicious that it could be phishing scam as it says press claim now and then they will call you and you cannot call RACV to claim.
Also arevo's email is [email protected] and this email came from [email protected]

    • I think prefixes are supposed to be safe and are separated by a dot aka period aka full stop.

Arevo seems to be using a "t" prefix.

I think eBay is or used to use heaps of prefixes. eg communications.ebay.com.au
When I Googled "using prefixes with your website", the 6th entry was docs.aws.amazon.com and the 8th is developer.mozilla.org

    • If I Google "is communications.ebay.com.au legit", there is discussion about staying safe on
      community.ebay.com.au

      and warnings about phishing on
      pages.ebay.com.au

Because I live here, I get directed to au.trustpilot.com
Since I speak English, I end up at en.wikipedia.org
The VIC government does it too; I want to recycle a laptop battery and found there is sustainability.vic.gov.au

      etc

  • Is having 2 RSA good ? Already have with mazda but heard bad stories

  • $10 RACV Emergency Roadside Assistance (if I am a new customer).

absolute sham for loyalty, my mother on RACV Comp. insurance

and they orally quoted us $200 for a year

  • I found out about a deal for EXISTING customers; I published it once but a mod thought it was a duplicate of this deal for new members

    :S
