It brings C845 from 1995 to 1276.8. The total price, with the cheapest sound bar, is $1436.
Maybe there is a better TV deal starting tomorrow.

I thought that's a waste of store delivery. It's not really a large item. Long maybe.

    • +2

My soundbar was "out for delivery" today, TV delivery date is "unknown". TV just turned up. No sign of the soundbar.

Maybe they've anticipated and returned it to the store for me? :-)

I just went on Jbhifi chat to inquire about my order

Consultant mentioned TGE tracking has soundbar out for delivery today

Asked her when i should expect SMS link to schedule delivery for TV.

Was told the driver has also picked up TV today and delivery expected this arvo.

Ours was TGE. I asked the blokes about the soundbar and they laughed "we only deliver the big stuff mate, not the small stuff"

So maybe your tv is coming too

          • @M00Cow: TGE consignment shows the weight of parcel is 4.7kg. pretty sure our TV weighs a tad more than that LOL

Either way im happy i was told both items would be delivered today

Got both the TV and Soundbar delivered today (SA Metro). Ordered it on Wednesday, so pretty happy.

    Will set it up tomorrow.

FYI the following article gives some calibration tips : https://www.flatpanelshd.com/review.php?subaction=showfull&i… which I will be using. I think other users should do the same. Looks under the measurements section. Anyone else done it it?

      Good write up, cheers.
Note: His remote seems like a (worse) euro version.
The one I got has a better layout

  • So people whats the general consensus in the TV Yay or Nay? But more importantly is the menu nimble to navigate or occasional laggyness ?

Also how many button presses/menu clicks to get to "Free to Air TV" from 'turned' or 'home screen' or from within Apps Netflix ect.

Is there a dedicated hard button on remote to throw you right back into old school tele?

I have two older Android TCLs that require me to go into the Home Screen and select an App called TV just watch "Free to Air" it's annoying, I just want to click in the Channel changer and be in TV mode, not stuff about in menus

I find the menu navigation quite zippy. I assumed that the light reflection on the screen would be quite bad but again was surprised that it doesn’t affect the viewing experience. TV is quite bright, even at 40 to 50 per cent brightness, it’s quite good in my experience. The image quality on 4k Dolby videos is quite outstanding, the deep blacks are really good on this mini-led, and blooming is very minimal, hardly noticeable. Free-to-air channels look ok, nothing remarkable in my opinion.

Overall, a very nice tv especially at $1,276.80, value to performance ratio is top-notch.

So set mine up yesterday 75" C845, replacing a SONY KD-65X9000H

Was worried about up scaling/motion handling and a slow google TV interface, as this was being reported on the C835. So far so good. Watched AFL and the F1 on Kayo (which are not the best feeds, compared to say EPL on optus sport) and didn't notice any issues with motion handling and upscalling. Non-HD/SD channels on free to air didn't look great, but the HD channels looked great. Don't use the SD channels anyway. In regards to picture quality, just a massive upgrade over the Sony. Wow those blacks, the contrast, the colours pop. Its in a large room with lots of natural light, I can notice reflections if I make a point of it, but its also so bright that its easily overwritten. 4k content from Disney looked amazing and the TV auto picked up dolby vision etc.

I tried to do the setting that were mentioned here : https://www.flatpanelshd.com/review.php?subaction=showfull&i…

But couldn't find them all. Perhaps the menu is a little different on the EU versions. E.g. couldn't find were to find the Adv color temp settings. Its true that movie mode is most accurate out the box. But have found when I turn it off and, its always switching back to low power mode, maybe there is a setting for this, but haven't found it so far.

Our remote does not have a numpad, rather we have a button that opens up a numpad on screen. Very annoying when trying to switch between free to air channels. Assume we could buy an EU remote?

Overall, feels like a massive upgrade over the Sony. Even the wife (why did you buy a new TV again?) made a comment on how much better the overall picture quality was. Only regret was not going the 85" and the remote thing is annoying.

  • I have my 75" inch setup from yesterday, I don't mind not having num keys on remote and it works well for me - remote is responsive it's feels a little too thin and long for my hand to reach power button and too reach the volume rockers lower down (still need to slide hand up or down to reach all buttons) but hey they can be replaced for like $20 OEM so no real stress if goes missing unlike the older $150 Panasonic, Sony and Samsung remote.

The Google home navigation and menu is super fast and snappy unlike my older TCL so it's a nice experience.

The sound is excellent for me in my large loungeroom, I don't think I'd bother with a soundbar unless you must have more bass rumble as it's plenty loud.

Some newer screen overlay menus and easy access settings are nice and convenient.

I find the screen finish is glossy and mostly reflective like just about every TV I ever owned so no big deal - adjust some blinds to suit.

The TV is really heavy to lift and the base is very solid with only very minor wobble (I've felt much worse with other big brands in the store).

Watching Netflix Extraction 2 movie in 4K it's very clear, but I find the picture motion to be too animated/soap opera effect for my liking (like fake or game console movie like) so I turned it off and I prefer it this way 'more real'.

Over all I couldn't be happier, In coming from a 55" Panasonic HD (Non 4K) that served me well. This TV just feels obscenely large - people's heads are huge, guess I will eventually adjust.
65" would have also suited just fine and also been an upgrade and maybe being smaller the screen quality might have even looked sharper again, but this is still top notch.

    Just a quick review.

I’ve installed my 85” in my living area where its open layout with dining and kitchen.
    Replaced my Sony 65” z9d

When you walk away and look at it from afar, the TV looks huge but when sitting around 3m from screen, its perfect size.

I’m using my old Yamaha YAS107 which is much better than the TV speakers.

Browing though the menu is quick and I have no issues with lag.

I don’t watch FTA so couldn’t care less remote has no numbers.

Overall, pretty stoked with TV esp for price.

  • How’d everyone go returning the soundbar?

    How’s the C845?

    • +1

Requested refund due to change of mind.

  • Still avaiable for order at this price? now the tv is $2,000 by itself?

    • This deal has long gone.

      • So sad, now I have seen this price and not willing to pay for the $2,000 anymore…………………..
