Used a Tapo C210 as a baby monitor for $50 and it worked great,

fast & responsive, and will repurpose it to a standard camera afterwards

Tip: Don't get from their website, get only from Amazon. Their return warranty from Cubo direct is horrible.

As much as I'm not a fan of JB, Amazon's return policies are awesome.

Source: bought one from Amazon, had hardware issues after 13 months. Tried contacting Cubo directly, terrible support, went back to Amazon instead and got full refund no questions asked.

consider a Snoo either new or 2nd hand for smarts & monitoring

Will AI help my baby look smiling even when crying?

Have it. It’s good. But man oh man the advertising and up selling is horrible.

In the end I’d be surprised if many people actually use anything but the basic functions (viewing, video review, white noise etc). If I did it again I’d personally use a regular old PoE camera hooked up to my Blueiris setup. The timeline review process in the Cubo is awful imo. So slow and clunky when looking for something specific. Dare I say for a lot of people a tplink or wyze camera mentioned previously would do the job at considerable savings.

So yeah long way of saying I’m not unhappy with my purchase after a year+, I feel I’ve got my moneys worth, but I likely wouldn’t buy another one either.

    • yep, used a regular TP-Link Tapo C210, it also has motion crying detection

I have one and have found it pretty good too. The notifications function (e.g. crying) is useful and works well. It comes with a temperature sensor that is also helpful.

The catch is the client app is much better on iphone than on android. The android one is a bit flaky and buggy.

  • Was $300 when i got mine 2yr ago. Inflation!

I spent $25 on a cheap Lenovo camera and no issues with it, good night vision, connected to the tyua app easily.

IMO if you are spending over $50 for a baby monitor you are getting ripped off

    • I want a dedicated screen so I don't have to keep my phone open to that camera
