    No PPS for Samsung?

    • +2

      Doesn't look that way.

    • +2

What does it mean? No fast charging for Samsung device?

  • Was $74 via The Good Guys few days ago and sold out on same day of the deal.

  • thanks purchased

Not interested in the deal but thanks for reminding me to charge my kindle :)

    • +3

      It’s called the kindle surprise

  • Was hoping this would go down with Prime sale. Anyone know any good powerbanks for laptop charging? Anker has one but is only 20% off.

  • As a rookie to this, what makes this one more enticing than an anker one for 24 dollars, is it faster charging etc?

    • +3

For me the main attraction is the cable can be swapped out. Handy if you have overseas plugged cables, or want a different length. I've not seen any other brand with this feature - Zyron does at just $55 refrubished, plus $7 more for the cable itself but it's a proprietary socket and cable (ie Australian only, and only 1.5m available), and costs more. And the non-refurbished models are 120W (($85) and 140W ($130) - personally I wouldn't risk a refurbished charger as you're never sure how much of the original defect has been addressed.

UGREEN seems to as well , but it's hard to tell from the listing if the cable is proprietary and is also more expensive than this deal.

Which Anker one are you comparing it to?

      • +1

2 pin figure 8 cable on the uGreen hub can be swapped out for a different country, quality brand.

        • 45W max on the UGREEN

    • What anker charger for 24?

    • Apologies few years ago, I think it was a diff cheap brand like blitzwolf, 6 USB ports, 60W, white from eBay, didn't have USB C

Am I correct in understanding all phones just slow charge off this?
For reference I have a Motorola with a 68w charger.

    • That depends if your phone uses usb c power delivery for charging, or some other charging protocol. Best to check your phone's full specs to see if the charging states usb c power delivery. (and what voltage/amperage)

This charger doesn't specify which voltage/amperage specs it will charge at though, so it's still hard to know for sure. Most usb c PD chargers I've seen will usually deliver 15-18watts,

I have this and as mentioned in previous deals there is the annoying coil whine. Other than that it's pretty good

    • Using it on a bedside I can imagine the noise would be annoying.

Is it audible/noticeable if the unit sits on your desk?

Options for GAN chargers that don't have coil whine?

      • +1

100% annoying. Mine's on my desk. I don't notice it with low powered devices like phones or Apple Watch, but when used to charge my 100w laptop, it goes through the roof.
My old Anker from 4 years ago doesn't have this issue but that only offers 60w max.

The sateshi or whatever it's called looks decent but I haven't seen it for under $100 ever

      • Bought and returned last Prime day due to coil whine.

    • +1

In case someone finds it useful, the one I bought with this deal doesn't seem to have coil whine, even when all 4 slots are being used. It's not close to my bed, but that being said, it usually sits on the sofa arm and haven't heard coil whine yet (or maybe I just have strong tinnitus!).

  • Thanks. Looks good to take with me when travelling with laptop or my anker 737 powerbank. Hopefully will work well with the ally 30w mode.

  • It seems the answer to my question is yes, but can anyone confirm that this would charge Lenovo laptops just fine? My Lenovo charger just died, would this be a good replacement? I had previously bought an off brand 65w charger for the same laptop, but unfortunately that's dead too now. Any advice is much appreciated.

    • +1

Lenovo often has adapter sales. This would work, but if you just want a 65w usb-c power adapter it is cheaper to buy from Lenovo.

      • Only issue here is that Lenovo chargers don't do 12v.

        I don't know why.

        They do 5v, 9v, 15v and 20v

If your device is happy enough to fall back to 9v when 12v isn't available then it's still ok.. just possibly a bit slower if you're charging.

I was working on a project I wanted to power with 12v and couldn't figure out why I was only getting 9v.

I just assumed that if something did USB PD then it did all the voltages up to it's specified maximum.
Turns out that's not the case.

    • +1

Yes it works. Charges my Razer blade 15 and wife's Lenovo something just fine. (Albeit with some coil whine)

    • thank you both for the inputs, much appreciated!

  • +2

    Showing $97?

  • +4

I hate how Amazon does that, why have a sale for a few hours only

  • got one, thanks op.

  • +2

The coil whine is really noticeable (at least when using the high powered USB C port to charge a laptop… have it on my desk and even when sitting away from it I can still hear it.

I am debating returning it given my planned use case is to take it on holidays and if I have this on my bedside table in hotel rooms it’s going to give me headaches.

    • Same here. Mine had noticeable coil whine when charging my macbook out of the 96W port.

Annoying enough that I couldn't sleep 1.5m away from it.

      Ended up returning it.
