Perfect! Better than $1 and I get to sit on my couch while it’s delivered (assuming the deal doesn’t flop).

    • +12

      You know it will.

      • +8

Then I will protest to retitle:

Free Large Fries + No Delivery & No Service @ McDonald's via DoorDash

        • +17

It’s more like Free Large Fries for your friendly DoorDash driver.

I may order and leave a note for the driver to just enjoy it and don’t bother delivering.

          • +3

@HardQuiz: Why not register as a dasher yourself? Pay to eat your own order

    • +17

Yes, cold and stale fries will be at your door step in no time flat.

      • +4

        Cold and stale frees.

    • +14

Free is free but what a wasteful deal is this, fuel, time, packaging and human resources all for one Large Fries. And those who scrabbling to get it free as its limited to 15k.

      • +1

I kind of agree with you.. I believe you're free to neg the deal as unsustainable / bad practice that should be discouraged, but i'm not sure.

    • +2

Cold soggy chips delivered doesn't sound that appealing

    • assuming you don't assume anything, yeah, things are gonna be great

  • +5

From the list of Amazon deals, here is the breath of fresh air…. McDonalds fries :)

  • +10

Driver: Are you sure it's just a pack of fries?

    • +24

It looks like a real waste of resources to receive luke warm salted strips of cardboard to your door.

      • +16

Remember — some people ask why?, but OzBargainers ask why not?

      • +8

Seems like environmental vandalism for little if any gain.

        • +4

I can practically hear the Idiocracy narrator describing it this.

  • Thanks OP.

  • +6

I bet there will be a small order fee and make the deal meaningless?

    • +10

Minimum order of $15 to avoid that fee which is $3.

      • does the deal title need to be updated?

    • oops I was wrong, there is no small order fee.
Ordered one from a store 300m away lol.
      It's still hot when arrived.

  • -4

Fries are the worst part of a McDonald’s meal.

  • +7

They're probably gonna just give you the fries that's left over at the back of the broken soft serve machine.

  • +7

these will go soggy I don't like getting fries delivered :/

    • Life hack: put them in a kmart air frier for 4 mins and they are good as new.

  • +10

Chips will definitely be soggy and cold by the time delivered. I think McDonalds even said optimal time was the first 5 minutes to eat their fries.

    • source ?

      • +3

Many years ago with school we went on a tour inside a McDonalds and thats what we were told by the McDonalds person doing the tour. It actually may have been even less than 5 minutes…maybe even 2minutes? It was a long time ago lol

      • tomato please

    • +2

I find my fries are cold within 2 minutes pretty much every time. I always eat them first and they seem pointless as take away or order considering that.

  • Here we go

  • +1

You can leave delivery instructions, right? The driver/dasher doesn't need to see your face to deliver?

  • +1

Free is free but delivered fries are always disappointing. Fries need to be eaten fresh.

    • +4

Might be a good idea to customise your order and get them delivered raw. Then you can fry them freshly at home for the freshest, free fries ever!

    • Air fryer
      Or make into mash

  • +1

But macca fries taste terrible and they don't even taste like potato

    • -3

Probably because they use Australian potatoes. I understand that local products are more cost-effective, but not importing something this fundamental to the menu is just so cheap and nasty

      • +2

But Aussie potatoes bought from woolies/Coles are nice so I don't think Aussie potatoes are the issue. Maybe macca added something to their fries

    • They taste like egg batter to me. Must be the way they cook them.

    • +2

In case you guys dont know this… Macca fries contain up to 19 ingredients!

  • +12

Being doordash each driver will be delivering 18 deliveries at once, 1 will be warm and 17 will be cold.

Dunno why doordash do these kind of things, their service isn't good enough that freebies are a promotion, they're usually a warning.

    • They only stack 2 deliveries at a time extremely rare to see 3 orders stacked at a time.

      • Yes but the 2 deliveries apparently don’t need to be anywhere near each other. I ordered from a place 4km away and the driver drove 5 km in the opposite direction to make a delivery first before backtracking and then coming to me.

  • +4

yall really chuffed for 50c worth of shoestrings

  • can i click & collect?

    • Generally can’t click and collect McDonalds orders placed via DoorDash.

    • I’ve seen people at kfc before who have waited ages for their order to be delivered drive to the store and collect their order themselves not sure if it would work at McDonald’s or not.

  • yum! thanks OP

  • +1

Only $0 if we don't tip the poor delivery guy

    • +2

Is tipping a thing in australia? Are we merican? I thought companies here are supposed to pay workers appropriate wages and tipping was unnecessary but optional (e.g. If you order lots of bulky or heavy items)

      • +1

pretty crap wages i can imagine

  • +1

Wait how can they make it so it’s only the large fries that has delivery? Wouldn’t using the code mean we’d get free fries with no fees + delivery alongside an order? Meaning we’d get free delivery and no service fee on anything we buy from maccas? Seems tempting

  • can i order to receive in the evening?

  • +12

    The planet is doomed

    • -1

Honestly I agree, this post and the comments have convinced me that this website has taken just simply being a bit of a cheapskate to that some people here are strange

  • +1

Hey siri, create a reminder for the 13th of July at 11:57am "order free fries"…

  • +1

Really FREE FREE FREE ? Hopefully their app is not failing like KFC

  • I just received email from doordash but not saying Free Delivery only NO FEE.
I think fee means service fee.

From 12pm - 3pm AEST tomorrow, we’re treating THOUSANDS of customers to Macca’s’ legendary fries FOR FREE, with NO fees. Simply add a large fries to your cart and use code FREEFRIES at checkout.

      • free and free

  • I'm assuming if you just order the fries a small order fee would apply

    • "Between 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM (AEST), simply add a Large Fries from McDonald’s into your cart in the DoorDash app and punch in the exclusive code FREEFRIES at checkout.

Bonus: delivery and service fees for Macca’s orders have been scrapped for the occasion."

      Supposedly not?

  • +2

It's live now, no small order fee!

  • +1

    Just ordered - completely FREEEE

  • +1

    Nice! mines on the way.

  • -1

    On the way, thanks OP.

  • Just ordered. Thanks!

  • Thanks OP - My order is being prepared!

  • Just ordered and did scheduled. All free

    • -3

Delivered way earlier than was suppose to, DoorDash support wouldn’t help and are very condescending

  • +3

Ordered, hopefully the driver will enjoy it.

    • good one

      • +2

Driver was happy and cost me nothing.

  • Worked for me, no fees $0 total :)

  • Nice one OP, got it for free

  • Can't believe a DoorDash promo actually worked first time. Lmfao

    • +1

That's like the biggest surprise for me, doordash promo never works this smoothly.

      • Right?! I have had to contact customer service practically each time – either the promo doesn't include all items as displayed, or it only partially discounts 🤪

  • Worked! completely free, thanks OP!

  • Yep $0 :)

    But 21 - 38 minutes away…

  • This store is temporarily closed…

    • I had to google "doordash mcdonalds" to be able to find a store

  • Party is over guys

    • 🤔

  • +1

Worked for me, completely free. Thanks OP

  • Just worked for me!

  • +1

i ordered it as scheduled delivery for tomo and it works for me.

    • I used the app successfully

  • +1

Free fries and no delivery or service fee on the rest of my order? Not bad.

  • +2

Worked for me too - got a double quarter pounder and large chips delivered for $10.90 since the delivery and service fee were waived! Thanks OP!

  • +1

Wonder how much this promotion is costing them.

So many scooters and cars running around delivery one pack of fries at a time.

    • +2

It'll make them more money. Getting McDonald's delivered is highly addictive, the first taste is free.

    • they pay $6-$7 to delivery drivers.. not sure if Maccas will reimburse for fries or they charge doordash..

  • +1

ordered it…hope the driver eats it on the way it goes missing.

  • +1

Big Mac + Large Fries for $8.50

    Thanks OP

  • still works
