It's big and it's bold, it's the Seiko Coutura!

This is the cheapest I've ever seen any watch from this Coutura series. Current other best price for this is $415 from various Au outlets, or $408 from Watch Depot for the green dial variant. I've seen them sneak under $400 with discount codes, but rarely.

Full specs available from Seiko here: https://www.seikowatches.com/au-en/products/coutura/ssc376p9
But the highlights are:

  • Sapphire Crystal
  • Chronograph
  • Perpetual Calendar (until 2100)
  • Day / Date and Power Reserve display
  • Solar powered
  • 100m WR
  • 44mm case diameter. It's a big boy.

If you want some variations there are two Radio Sync World Timer models available:
SSG009 @ $576: https://www.amazon.com.au/Seiko-COUTURA-Quartz-Stainless-Cas…
SSG019 @ $382: https://www.amazon.com.au/Seiko-COUTURA-Japanese-Quartz-Stai…

Both of these are not commonly seen in Australia, and certainly not anywhere near this price. Both feature sapphire crystal, world time settings for 25 cities, and automatic time setting by radio signal - slightly less useful in Australia but nice for many other areas of the world which makes it an ideal travel watch.

Be warned, these have an integrated bracelet, it's one of the distinguishing features of the range. No strap swapping.here.

Definitely a watch for someone with unique tastes.

    I wouldn't rock it

    • You'll be surprised.. don't underestimate your wrist.

    • Surprised at your comment tbh. I think this is a very sleek and sophisticated watch, would definitely suit most wrists in a professional work environment imo.

        I strongly disagree.

        • haha fair enough :D

      • I already have one of the other versions, and what the pictures can't show is how the gold highlights on the bracelet facets catch the light. It's subtle but works really well, and is unlike any other regular bracelet.

I just went and bought the SSG019 that I listed above. I watched this video which shows how the dial works in the light: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBYcdCEp7sM
It's quite something. If the SSG020 had been the same price I might have gone for that for some extra gold bling, but this one is still pretty good with that vibrant blue dial.

  • also the cheapest I've ever seen this*. CCC agrees, for what it's worth.

  • I really like it. I wish I wasn’t so attached to my Apple Watch.

Apple Watch is just a black void on your wrist. Don't succumb totally to the dark side.

      That's not a watch.

It's just a mini wrist iPhone with a clock as it's screen saver.

  • UGLY IMHO

  • Cant decide between this deal or this

I ordered a Citizen one posted recently as well as a possible daily and this one more for dress.

    • I did also see that one, but it only has a silicon band. Part of the whole vibe of the range is the blingy bracelet, which you lose with that model.

The SSC743 has the stainless bracelet, and it is fairly regularly discounted; it can currently be had for $344 at Watch Depot.

  • Devastated. Was about to order and it’s gone

I bought the SSG019- to my surprise radio sync worked perfectly in Sydney without doing anything!!

    • Where you based ?

      • +1

        around Hornsby

        • just left it outside in the sun to charge for about 40 minutes, and it was all done

          • @derdew: Nice one. Was on the fence but I did speak to a person in Seiko and even they mentioned it would work at the airport for some reason. Guess it’s more places than that.
