    Dis good for PS5?

    • Yes but you would need a heatsink for it.

      https://www.amazon.com.au/Samsung-Electronics-Heatsink-Compa…

Here is the same NVME but with an included heatsink for $101.89

    • +1

Better off with the 2Gb if you can stretch for a PS5

      • +5

        1tb prob better…

    • Some videos on Youtube show no heatsink + ssd cover off is almost the same temp. wise as heatsink + ssd cover on. I have a Kingston NV2 in mine no heatsink but cover off. I haven't had any issues. I did get a speed warning after I installed it but it has no noticeable lag or issues when loading games.

  • +1

This is back in stock @ $167.07

[Prime] Samsung 980 PRO M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD with Heatsink 2TB $167.07 Delivered @ Amazon US via AU

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/787226

    • +1

Only showing me a third party seller for $250

      • IT was $167.07 like 20 minutes ago… the price keeps jumping around.. it was $450 last time i checked

      • seems to have 4 in stock as of 8:45 from what i can see

    • Showing $299 for me lol

      • My guess is when people cancel orders they show up again at $167.07

  • +5

Bought 2. Got charged $135 for some reason. Shopback and westpac 5% cb on top.

    • +3

Wow nice find, it showing $135.70 when i add 2 to cart.

    • +1

I just checked.. .YEP… when you add two the price is $135.70 … making it $67.85 each

    • Yeah was unexpected. Couldn't use my $150 gift card (initial cart total was 155) as I also wanted the extra westpac 5% cb via shopback ha

    • does shopback work on amazon US?

  • I canceled my order for a Samsung 980 PRO 2TB Heatsink @ $167.07.. and got two of these :) for $135.70

I still get 2TB's in the end and i have lots of spare NVME slots.. plus if one of the drives fail i only lose half the files

  • OP… This is whats listed on the Amazon link :>

Prime Savings [Prime only] Save 10% when you buy 2 eligible items from null etc. Click here to see qualifying products . Offered by Amazon US Shop items

But its providing a way larger discount then 10%. I wonder if amazon will honor these orders. We'll soon find out

    • +1

      (87.90 x 2) - 20% = 140.64 which still doesnt equal $135.70.

      • +2

Discount is based off the 'Regular Price':

        ($87.90 x 2) - ($100.24 x 2 x 0.2) = $135.70

  • Crazy number of 980/990 sales recently; Amazon / sellers must have a LOT of stock.

    • this stuff is coming off a production line, in a PC these things last 5 years or more depending on useage, so yeah, need to move stock for something people don't buy on a weekly or annual basis.

There are only a few major volume markets for dram and flash in these sizes, PCs and phones.

  • +1

Sweet post OP, thanks got x2 👍

  • This is an insane deal, hopefully it gets honoured because I'm about to cancel my regular 980 order.

    • I already canceled my 980 Pro 2TB order

  • +1

This weird promo glitch is working with the 1TB heatsink version as well. I bought 2 of these for ~$162
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Samsung-Electronics-Heatsink-Compa…

    • +1

haha i just posted that as a deal a few seconds ago.

    • $27 extra for 2 heatsinks .. not bad $13.50 each

  • +3

Is this deal Buy now think later?

    • +1

Buy now think later? 100% YES … You could resell them new for more than $67.85 if you must

I got one of these for $180 last year on sale

  • +1

    Couldn't resist this.

  • Warranty from US?

    • +4

Amazon.com.au will support the warranty for 5 years.. Chatting to support confirmed this.

Samsung Australia wont. End of story.

      • +1

        Thank you!!!

  • My order history page shows a heatsink but when I tap on it the item listing doesn't have a heatsink. Very weird glitch indeed

    • +1

Its the stock image used… the items sold are without heatsink.. the heatsink version is here for $163.02

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/787716

      • That makes sense. Don't need a heatsink so this deal is fantastic if it doesn't get cancelled. Current delivery between Aug 2 to Aus 28

  • For those saying 2tb is better google “storage pools”

    • +1

The reason why everyone is saying 2TB is better is because most people only have 1 or 2 Nvme slots on their motherboard.
Not everyone buys the high end boards

      • +2

Not just the board. If you're using a consumer CPU you probably don't have many spares lanes from the CPU unless you're bifurcating from your GPU or something. (Realistically 8x vs 16x lanes often doesn't matter for most GPUs.) If you're going to be sticking mutliple NVMe on chipset lanes you have to consider whether there's really any reason to get a PCIe gen 4 in the first place since you're likely saturating some limit probably the chipset to CPU link.

        • +1

And PS5 only has 1 slot

      • Still disagree cause $10 can solve that issue too
        https://tinyurl.com/yubdw9zf

  • +2

If you only need one like me, you could get a bonus 256gb evo micro sd as well and the final cart total is $83.74 making it cheaper :)
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Samsung-microSDXC-Expanded-MB-ME25…

  • +2

I looked for ages trying to find something cheap that was compatible with the "10%" saving. Only $11 more for a 256gb card though so I'm not too bothered. I'm tempted to cancel and do this but I have even less use for the book…

  • +1

is 1 GB enough for storing nice game in ps5? just wondering. lol
    got 2, thanks OP
    BUY NOW THINK LATER GUYS!!

    • +1

      1 GB can't even fit many 2xCD game, I wouldn't recommend it for a PS5.

      (Sorry couldn't resist.)

    • yes it should be fine unless u are the type to install your whole library.

  • +2

Looks like they fixed it. Showing 25ish dollar discount on 2 drive now

    • Was just about to ask here, cause I couldn't get it to show the $135.70 price and thought I was the only one. Thanks for clarifying.

  • +1

Single drive still seems to be available

  • I went with heatsink version …. it's for a PC and slot does come with heatsink. The PM MB heatsink seems to be designed to look good, the samsung heatsink has fins for larger surface area and is fitted in a factory, so good fit and no compromise with the the pad used. For $14 more doesn't seen a lot for the heatsink if you think you need one ….

    • I've watched a few reviews on these NVME heat sinks… they all perform pretty much the same from the single thin metal bracket on motherboards to the small Fins on aftermarket options… The one thing that makes a difference is air flow from case fans.

Air flow on a naked NVME drive is better then a heat sink with no air flow

  • +1

I think i bought the last 5x well I couldn't resist well what a bargain, will do my usual thing sell the ones i dont need hopefully the ones i keep become free lolz 😅 certainly has been a buyers market these past few months 👍😃

    • you got 10 drives? haha .. i guess i could of tried doing that too for re-selling .. At worse case you make back your money at $67.85 each

  • -1

well i got sent 2x samsung 870 evo 2.5inch 1tb ssd's with a barcode sticker for a 980 pro slapped over the box.
amazon won't replace it and will only refund me once they receive the product back to their warehouse, so i guess im looking for something else now that prime day sales have expired -.-

    • +1

Mine hasnt even been sent yet, has me worried.

Anyone else hads the same happen or is this a once off? I can still cancel my order.

      • My order hasn't even been shipped yet let alone delivered and i was one of the first people to place my order .. 1 minute after this was posted on here! … if anyonea order would ship first it would be mine.

show us your amazon order receipt and we may believe you. girds7

    • +1

      I don't believe you girds7 - I doubt anyone's orders have been sent yet.

      • one of the very first to order here and not shipped yet. Also its coming from Amazon US .. it will take at least around 1 week to be sent.. NO way girds7 got his already

  • +1

My Heatsink ones have shipped on the 16th, still August arrival date tho

    • girds7 sounds like a liar.. not sure why though .. does he want to scare people to cancel because he missed this awesome deal? that's very sad if so

  • The $135.70 payment for the 2x 1TB 980 Pro drives has been deducted by Amazon. so they are going to be shipping in the next 24 hours :) YEY

  • +1

    Finally shipped yay

    • Same .. shipped

      • +1

Mine still hasnt shipped and just says expected Aug 1st.

        • +1

        • +1

    https://semiconductor.samsung.com/consumer-storage/support/t…

  • yikes.. mine was only shipped today, guess they did sell out initially. Should be 2 weeks for delivery.

    • whoops forgot to updtae this, both 1TB x 980 Pro arrived with no issues.

  • Mine arrived today. They have sent SATA 2.5" 870 Evo. I was waiting for the last 3 weeks to arrive. It was the last item to arrive for my first PC build. Disappointed.
