Miele Complete C3 Family All-Rounder Vacuum Cleaner (Graphite Grey) $389 + Delivery ($0 for certain areas) @ Appliance Central

270

Was in the market for a C3 and this one was the cheapest right now by a fair margin (graphite colour only).

$0 delivery to Melbourne.

The red colour is still at $535 because everyone knows red goes faster.

Currently own one and love it. The quality and suction power is the best.

      • Any hassles with changing the bags or finding them to buy?

        • +1

Super easy to change and buy. Goodguys and HN should have them and each bag last a long time.

        • Using cheap eBay bags no worries

One of the best i ever used. Had one for 5 years and honestly you won't be dissapointed. Really powerful and solid

    • One of the Best!

About 15 years ago, then bagless, few years after stick vac, now robo with the mop.

The extra is worth it for me, because I really hate vacuuming

I've had a Miele similar to this since 2010 - still going strong.. whereas my parents have gone through 3 dysons in that time I reckon. Their most recent model can have the battery replaced, but a battery replacement isn't very cheap either.

    • Buying this as the Dyson V10 isn't cutting it, feels like the model all disgruntled owners head to.

      • Same,Dyson turbo fail at 366 days. $800 worth of meh. Now have drama of returning and no vacuum.

    • I have three dysons, all still going strong. DC08, V8 and V10. Have replaced only the battery in the V8. Got an original but next time will probably go after market.

  • What’s the difference between this and the Complete C3 Cat & Dog Bagged Vacuum Cleaner. Is it just attachments?

How long do the bags last and are they cheap to buy?

Also once last thing sorry, is this a new model or one that’s on clearance?

    • Afaik, same thing, different colour, different output filter ("active airclean" vs "airclean" which imho does not do much because neither is HEPA), two additional attachments: STB 205-3 floor turbobrush, STB 101 mini turbobrush

I can't comment on bags, because we have C1 compact which uses different bags and although I would prefer the larger C3, it is still going strong after 6 years so its hard to justify the expense.

      • Ok thanks
So this machine is a HEPA?

I currently use a Dyson DC54 Animal which cost over $1k and as you know it does not use bags so kinda feels I’m going back to the old days with a machine that uses bags.

Also how would this C3 compare to my Dyson?

        • We have come from 4 Dysons, 2 hand held and 2 electric powered, the Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog Bagless is what we have now and in my opinion outperforms the Dyson by a significant margin. The filters etc are very easy to clean the suction is great and the turbo head works very well.

Will not buy a Dyson Vac again for handheld the Xiomi is as good and for corded the Miele is streets ahead.

        • This model (Complete C3 Family), does not come with HEPA filter. It is uses bags (GJ/blue) and comes with "airclean" filter which is not considered HEPA. Miele sells compatible HEPA filters separately for about $50-60 each.

If you want Miele which comes standard with HEPA filter, you need to look at their bagless vacuums. I can't find a single bagged vacuum which would have HEPA as a standard filter.

Although it may seem that all bagless vacuums use HEPA and all bagged vacuums don't, these are two separate things. Please do not confuse bag/bagless with HEPA filter.

    • Filter, additional turbo brush attachments.

  • These things are nice a quiet. I assume it would be insane to use one in a hobby workshop for small amounts of sawdust? All the workshop ones are soo loud and chunky and the cheap ones don't even seem as powerful.

I wouldn't call them quiet on the highest suction setting. I usually wear in-ear headphones with good passive noise-cancelling when I'm vacuuming with my C3 as using it in confined spaces around the house is loud enough to be detrimental to your hearing after 30 minutes or so. I think I measured a peak sound level of 85db when you're standing next to the vacuum, which is definitely not good for your ears.

That's about the only gripe I have with this vacuum.

      • That's very insightful. 85 is much higher than I thought!

My oldest one just got relegated to garage duties. Counltless times better than my old supercheap auto "shop vac".

I just sanded a massive double front door today and it ran all afternoon like a champ.

I'd recommend getting one with an airclean filter (preferably hepa) if you're doing a lot of sanding.

Can't speak much for longevity but the one is used today has been in service for about 5 years already.

Just be careful re filtration, I bought this during prime day sales. I have owned a number of these over the years but this is the first one that I've owned that doesn't have the hepa or charcoal air cleaner.

It just has a caddy with the thin cloth looking filter.

I bought it knowing this but for those that are after better filtration, you'll need to fork out additional for the filter.

About $30 for the charcoal airclean filter or $50 for the hepa.

    Edit

Hepa: Miele SF-HA 50 HEPA AirClean Filter, White https://amzn.asia/d/dW2nIXp

    Charcoal: Miele 09616110 SF-AA 50 Active AirClean Filter,Black https://amzn.asia/d/1XLfzLV

    • Ahh so the filters are different quality not really the machines?

      • Yes exactly. And the accessories might be different as well.

  • I have the C3 (bought from Amazon) and i love it. But find the turbo brush is a pain as its air powered and if you have anyone in your house with long hair (2 or 4 legged) it gets clogged very easily and is a pain to clear out.

I do regret paying more just to get the turbo brush that i know have to try and get the hair out!

Side note. I bought extra bags from Amazon at the same time. I vacuum twice a week and yet to change it in 4 months.
