I need a new pair of ear pads for my Sundaras, since the stock pads are falling off. Addicted to Audio seems to be the Australian supplier of Dekoni, but they are pretty expensive, $119 without counting the shipping cost. I did some searching and it seems Amazon Japan has excellent prices ($75.98 and free shipping with Prime). It says it may take 6 weeks before they ship, but I can handle the wait for those prices.

Hifiman Sundara and HE-series: $75.98
Hifiman Arya: $105.68
Sennheiser HD600, HD6XX etc: 79.48
Sennheiser HD800: 91.75
AKG K701 $87.34
Philips Fidelio X2: $69.21
Sony WH1000XM5: $77.63
Sony WH1000XM4: $78.37
Beyerdynamic DT series: $88.17

    I‘m all ears!

  • Wow this is the cheapest I have ever seen the ones for the Focal Utopia and Clear. There's only 2 in stock at $93, I would buy them at this price, but I don't really use them as I prefer the originals. For anyone interested:

    • Cheers was waiting to get a good price on a pair of these

  • I was going to get these for hd800. I read the amazon reviews and there was a bit of noise about them changing the sound for the worse (nothing tremendously technical happening here, they're just different thickness). I opted to go with stock replacements.

    • There are four different types of ear pads, so the sound will depend on what you get. I got the hybrid (sheepskin outside, fenestrated sheepskin inside and velour on the touch areas) since that is similar to the Sundara stock pads. For these prices, you could get a pair and test it out. As a percentage of what you paid for the HD800, it will be a minor cost 😉

      • True but the stock pads are 108 at addicted to audio so I just went with the stock.

Are these worth it compared to the much cheaper misodiko?

I have purchased the hybrid Dekoni Elite for Susvara. I use it almost every day. The earpads don't really hold up for a long time. The glue/gel to hold it to its plastic piece tends to get worn and the leather falls out. That's after 3 months of usage. I contacted Addicted to Audio and they said, the warranty is not covered for wear and tear. I had to complain about it is just 3 months for a 100+ dollars product is unacceptable. I did tell them that I would escalate to ACCC if they weren't going to replace it. I got my replacement. I used it again for 2-3 months and the same problem exists. Now, I just order HIFIMAN's susvara generic ear pad and it lasts longer than Dekoni.

  • How do you change the earpads on the Sundara? I tried but scared to rip them off

  • Anything for HD800?

    • Check post, but yeah similar price to stock ones.

      • The Dekoni pads are supposed to be upgrades from the stock pads right? That is definitely the case for Hifiman (real leather vs pleather).

    • See what I said above. Read the reviews on pads real carefully if you don't want to risk changing the sound.

  • Thanks op!
