  • Normally $7 for 1 pair when on special. Nice find, grabbed 3 lots (6 pair) for work. Cheers.

    • It’s 2 socks/1 pair per pack

      • +1

        Twin pack= 2 pairs, 4 socks.
Pretty good for $6 instead of $24 (but not sure who would ever pay that).

        • Description must be wrong as it says 1 pair

          • @antik: Not sure what is going on bit I bought one in store and it was two pairs

  • +10

    Holeproof?
    Toes are like: challenge accepted.

    • +2

I have rarely in my life created holes in my socks at the toe, I guess I have soft toes :(

      • Or clip ya nails

  • Excellent, thank you. Good for filling out slightly over-sized shoes bought on sale.

  • +1

1 pair of Mens Explorer Original Wool blend socks.

    • These New 2Packs are a cotton/nylon blend , whatever % that means ,
but the packaging says “New Look - Same Sock”
maybe you’re supposed to double up for warmth .

    • Depends in store stock level? I just grabbed 3.

  • +1

Marion only store with stock south of the CBD
    .

  • +1

The "Holeproof" brand is the biggest lie ever told in the history of socks.

    • +1

Mine have held up well for about 4 years now, can't say the same.about other work socks I've owned.

    • +2

I have a couple of pairs that are 10years old and no holes. I have one pair that one of the socks developed holes half way up one of the sides, still wear them without issue but it was a weird place for a hole formation.

      • +1

Wow. Both pairs that I bought about a year ago developed holes in the heel (where 90% of the holes in my socks first appear) after about 5 washes.

    • Bonds no longer call them Holeproof, they’re now just called Bonds Explorer, well the wool ones I have anyway: https://cdn0.woolworths.media/content/wowproductimages/large…

  • Looks like max quantity 1. No stock anywhere. Delivery on 1 pair of socks kills this being a deal.

    • +1

It's not limited to 1. I was able to order 3 for pickup on the Gold Coast for $18

      • Must be a location thing. Nobody in QLD is wearing wool socks I guess.

        • +1

          I am - every day😀
(Some areas of Qld drop below 0C!)
First thing I put on in cool mornings.

But max order of 1 in Brisbane CBD!
Limit is due to lack of stock in store.
          Now sold out there.

          • @INFIDEL: Better off just going to the store :)
Still gets a bit chilly , fair few 7 deg mornings.

            • +1

@G-rig: Showed sold out earlier at all stores within reasonable distance.
              1 waiting - 24k trip for a warmer day.

Great timing! Yesterday, threw out 2 X 10+ year old worn out pairs.
              Replaced for $6🎉

        • Nobody in QLD is wearing wool socks I guess

I guess you don't read Deal Titles!
          "Explorer Cotton Blend Socks"
          (Cotton, Nylon outer, Elastane)
          Comfy in warmer Qld weather🌞

  • +1

    Thanks! Works in QLD too

  • +1

Got some in Brisbane, not all stores have them, just search for stores that do.

  • Thanks ! Will pick up two packs from a Brisbane store :)

  • +2

I bought similar bonds socks in the past. After wearing and taking them off there is a tonnne of black fluff stuck to my feet! After walking around for a bit it transfers all over the carpet and hardwood floors 😂

    • +1

Maybe you need a phillips fabric shaver? https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B089NKD195

      • +1

I used this once after my first or second wash of similar wool socks (but from target) and it has been perfect since (and that was 2 years ago)

      • he may also need a link for a vacuum cleaner.

      • Yes and probably didn't wash them first.

  • +1

I'm thinking these would be good with RM or other boots that are too tight, to increase comfort.

Edit: Macarthur central has some in Queen st

    • +1

They can be excellent to pad a roomy shoe but be cautious that they don't stretch the shoes further.

      • Hmm ok ta.
Just think id prefer to buy RM half a size bigger next time and wear thicker socks.

  • -1

Who read this as 2 Pack meaning 2 Pair !
Thought this was finally as decent deal on this site.
Nope just the regular sale price these sell at .
    Duped

    My fault ,
I should’ve read the fine print before buying socks

    • +1

Well picture shows 2 pack on packaging. Plus surely they dont sell them for $24 pair.

we will see. if not 2 pair in a pack ill be simply getting a refund.

      • +1

Confirm they are two pairs, for $6 instead of $24.
They also aren't marked down in store, just $14 or something. The larger ones also same price.

      • +1

Yes , picked up and they seem to be the same sock just different packaging 2 pack 2 pairs per $6 .
Confused by reading the Product Details where it says 1 pair in the link .
I think there were other styles for the same price also in store ,
Might be worth checking out if doing C&C .

  • +2

    Awesome, thanks for posting OP.

Just grabbed 3 from north lakes (qld) . Only size 6-10 available . Stock also at strathpine and taigum.

  • Thanks OP! Perfect timing , just grabbed a few packets for my partner

  • Has anyone actually picked up yet?

Just got the SMS mine are ready to pick up.

    • +1

Just got the pick up sms then.

      • +4

Have picked mine up. 2 packs. So $3 pair for work socks. Not the Bonds of old but worth i say.

  • Three degrees last night in Adelaide, I wish I slept with socks on. Crikey.

    • Yeah, I was standing outside last night and nearly froze…..

  • +2

SA- both 6-10s and 11-14s only available in country SA stores and Mildura (save you the trouble)

  • ordered 4 packs from Cairns… more in stock

  • Just got an email from Big W to advise that they are refunding my C&C purchase of these socks - "we are unable to supply your order" :(

  • I've never quite been able to replace the USA made wool blend Darn Tough office socks
Bonds wool is Chinese crap. The hole proof explorers don't breathe
My favourite wool socks are from Andy strapz
They're too thick for office or every day wear

    • We shall see.. good enough for winter mornings at home. They did have a different type (temperature) but looked thicker, go figure, and not $6.

    • Those sound amazing but probably more than $3 a pair. Got some thick Adidas crew socks good for around the house in winter.

      • I bought mine from Big W nearly 10 years ago, about $15 per pair which would be about $80 today accounting for inflation ;)
Big W still carry the brand, but they're a totally different product
I could risk ordering from USA, but who's to say the quality is the same as ten years ago?
Many brands sell out or otherwise dilute their once-quality product, which is one of the many reasons that I refer to this website.

So, yes - I would recommend Andy Strapz wool socks over holeproof explorers, and I would love to hear suggestions of thinner wool blend office socks
Holeproof explorers aren't worth it at $3, unless you want sweaty feet

  • +4

"These socks have been loved and worn by Australians for over 40 years". I prefer to buy new

    • +3

Still, 40 years and no holes though but.

  • +2

Nothing like a new pair of Explorer socks!

  • Gees … check out Product reviews ..
I thought they felt a bit thin .
I’d hate to be someone who paid full price thinking they were buying something decent

  • Just got 10 pairs from Maroochydore. Thanks, OP.

(Don't forget 5% off via gc)

  • Better to spend $6/pair on eBay for the wool blend Bonds holeproof. Once you wear wool socks you’ll never want to wear cotton socks again. Wool naturally wicks moisture away from the feet, unlike cotton which saturates. My feet used to smell quite a bit after 12 hour shifts in work boots, no longer the case with wool socks

    • +1

      real for fake?? any links?

      • Real of course. This is the current packaging, they’re no longer called Holeproof, they’re called Bonds Explorer Original Wool Blend: https://cdn0.woolworths.media/content/wowproductimages/large…
The listing I bought a few months ago has been removed, however I got 10 pairs for $60, just search “Bonds Explorer Wool Blend”

    • Do you have a link to the wool blend explorers , definitely interested in this .
All I can see are these same cotton blend as listed here .
Bonds is still describing their explorer socks as a woollen on their site and all the eBay sellers that I can see are doing the same while some are using pictures from the old style but they are selling the same cheap cotton blend as here .

      • You probably want the eBay link but saw the wlll ones in big W, $14.40 on special . Swore they had a very similar blue packaging, seems like quite a few very similar types.

        https://www.bigw.com.au/product/bonds-men-s-explorer-origina…

        • They don’t stock these anymore and bigw says they will remove this deceptive advertising sooner (if enough people figure this out) or later (once enough people get frostbite) .

          • @beach bum: This is the current packaging, they’re no longer called Holeproof, they’re called Bonds Explorer Original Wool Blend: https://cdn0.woolworths.media/content/wowproductimages/large…
The listing I bought a few months ago has been removed, however I got 10 pairs for $60, just search “Bonds Explorer Wool Blend”

        • +1

Just skip throu the pictures in the description , you’ll see .

        • Ha fake socks.
          Just get the cheapest..
$3 each pretty good but usually wear the thinner type that fit more snug. Don't have any shoes that generous to fill, but don't mind the idea of slightly bigger boots next time

        • +1

They look genuine to me. The packaging was recently updated and they’re no longer called Holeproof

  • ok so I picked up 5 pairs just now. These ARE as THIN as a ice user with bad teeth. Good for Qld winters only.

    • Thick compared to thin socks (which most of mine are)

    • Defo cotton. Not sure why we don't have more wool socks in AUSTRALIA. We have plenty of wool don't we??

      • -1

Answered your own question, pretty hot most of the year, i can do without wool. It's not as durable either to be honest.

      • this is just the the old style packaging from back when they used to make decent socks , they no longer sell this and you won’t find this in store or online .

Bonds socks are all made in china now and the quality reflects that .

  • Mentioned to my wife this morning I need a new set of black socks, perfect!

  • +1

Is the deal finished? I clicked 'Go to Deal' and I just get a complete list of work socks. Sorted by price and the cheapest on there are $9

    • same…

      OOS? price error?

  • picked mine up tonight. 6 pairs. they are reasonably thick . very happy

    • Beat me; I got 5, and thought I was overdoing it. Already running out (not much chance for washing and drying this week in the Sunny Coast).

Oh, wait… 6 sets, or 3 sets of 2 pairs?

      • 12 individual socks.

        • I got 20. I WIN!

          XD
