  • This trimmer has the horrible plastic bits to cut with, break real quick and you have to keep replacing them.

    • Longevity does kinda suck, they do not like hitting concrete. Having said that I feel like I get a more accurate cut with these over the line.

      • Not just concrete… anything stronger than a blade of grass. A slight hit against a timber sleeper sees it either broken or the top of it taken off.

Mine last really well. Concrete will reduce that but everything else it's been really good.

I've seen where people convert the ends of these to take trimmer line. Could be worth looking into. There's kits on eBay.

I mean it is a consumable, but I have whacked mine up against fence lines and trees without issue, but concrete shreds them.

        • +1

The blades are very strong, and I would be impressed if you could break one.

Obligatory stupid testing video trimming things that should not be trimmed. https://youtu.be/LK5G7c8vPcQ

If you get something that catches they occasionally pop off, but can be put back on. These are a different type of tool to a line trimmer though, so are not meant to be constantly smacked into concrete etc like line.

I have experienced the same as you suggest when using aftermarket blades. They just break almost immediately. The Ozito blades are tough nylon and I have not been able to break one even when trying.

Of course they do wear down, but even that is pretty slow unless you use them like a line trimmer.

@Prong: True. I am still using the original blades after 3 years and can vouch for there quality.

Bought 2 of them trimmers and found them best value for money.
No metal blades stocked else some stupid will get hurt.
      Blower will get cat moving….

    • Zip tie / cable tie works well 4-5mm. Or make hole in disc for larger/ tie around edge of original trimmer blade

  • Bought this pack few months ago , trimmer motor started smoking after few uses.
Although it was easy to get a refund from bunnings, I will not recommend using this trimmmer at all for your own safety

This is rubbish, mine got replaced twice during warranty period.

      Oh no poor you

  • Far out, when's the blower (skin only) ever going on sale?

  • +1

I got the EGO in the recent sale.

Have used it only once so far, but it is awesome.

I previously used a Stihl petrol trimmer. The motor was great but the line kept breaking and running out… Was a pain and waste of time to keep reloading.

Never thought I'd agree with jv but the powerhead bump load and 56v of the EGO is amazing.

I got fed up with ripping my shoulder off with a 2 stroke ryobi but the EGO is so much more powerful - I've got their blower and their hedge trimmer now too and simply great kit (for a price)

      • I got the one with LINE IQ so I don't have to bump either, it just feeds new line as required…

      • I've got their blower

I got the blower free with the mower.

It is a great upgrade from my Ryobi blower.

  • Why is it bunnings are the only store in Australia that refuse to post outside metropolitan areas?

Obligatory trimmer test on things that should not be trimmed.

It's not as clumsy or random as a line trimmer. An elegant trimmer, for a more civilized age….

i bought this kit when it was ozbargain 99, lets just say those tags tend to fly if it hits something hard, and the tags at bunnings are a rippoff, better of buying ebay/amazon those 3d printed tags….good kit if u have a small lawn or doing nature strip only…

  • i received this last fathers day, i think it was the same price. it is good to get you started on a small lawn you don't cut often. blower is weak, grass trimmer is also weak.

great as a starter set for a small lawn, or something you don't use often. i would definitely spend a little more and get a lot more. if you are on a budget, nothing wrong with this set. just lower your expectations and it will eventually get the job done.

probably a gateway set for you to buy more ozito stuff if you don't have any yet.

  • Good trimmer if you are elderly and needing something lightweight but the flying tags frustrated me too much and the motor eventually burnt out several months later.

Been using a el cheapo Homelite petrol trimmer for 2 summers now and it's been great, tackles anything and pulls first time.

This is merely a toy compared to a petrol powered blower or trimmer (I know not a fair comparison but its about getting the job done). The blower is decent, but takes multiple passes to blow off all the leaves/grass in a particular spot. However, with the petrol ones, one blast and its down the road. The trimmer is pure garbage. The blade will break very easily and takes multiple passes to put an area. Again a toy compared to a petrol blower.

  • never recomend anyone to use this blade things…regret buying it rubish

  • I looked at this last week when i decided to replace my old homelite. I didn't give this trimmer a second thought because of the blade things, and the reviews didn't help.
I was disappointed that OZITO doesn't make a decent line trimmer seeing as I am already in that battery system.

  • Struggling to decide between this and the Ryobi trimmer and blower kit. Not sure if the price difference warrants going with Ryobi as I have quite a small lawn. I have batteries from both eco systems. Bigger battery and the tags only mechansim vs line and tags on the Ryobi only real diff I see currently.

    • Get the Ozito

  • Any blower just for sale

  • I've had mine for around 3-4 years and it's great + I've learnt to use it properly to make the blades last. The only thing I wish it had is a lock for the trigger.

  • looking just for the blower… but it's the same price of this kit :S
