    …is fine on a midrange iPad. However 256GB Wifi should be the minimum spec for an iPad in 2023, and $1099 being considered a bargain for those specs (plus a processor released in 2020) is the real travesty here.

      Nothing still gets close to the M1 in terms of raw performance.

      Still works fine for almost all use cases in a tablet.

      Price wise… this is the Apple Tax.

        No-one is arguing that the M1 processor is slow, but 2.5 years after it's first release the price should absolutely have come down. I realise this is how Apple always works, but the basic point is that because of this the best deal for Apple gear is almost always the day it is launched, and there's a reason https://buyersguide.macrumors.com/ exists.

          @Arsenal: Indeed… get the cheapest you can get within launch date to get the maximum out of it.

          Although for some devices you can get away with getting something later on, as long as you don't mind not having the software updates in future.

  Officeworks has it at $1099 as well. Haven't had any success finding it cheaper elsewhere for price beat.
