Wow look at that price. Definitely too expensive for what is offered

I run everyday, 25-40km every Saturday. Yes, I do have both the 7x and this. I will choose this 24/7 and ALL day. I can text, I can call without my phone. Music and track all the data I need.

The question now, do you even?

Looks like you have comments with every APPLE post and justifying your ANDROID. lol.

      • I have 6x Sapphire and I though I don't need Ultra (just yet), maybe next year 6x would be due for an upgrade.

But now you made me wonder do I need both. :)

Except phone calls/texts/emails, what else do you need Apple Watch for, that 7x can't do - activity tracking, health, etc.?

Or it might be worth just for calls/etc., so you don't drag the phone when running?

One thing that is great about this product is that it did not take two, three or more generations to come out with a refined Ultra - Apple hit the ball out of the park with the first release and I think any future model will be incremental at best with longer cycles between updates due to the flagship status similar to high end digital cameras.

They had a lot of experience with their other watch lines and this justifies the cost for intended purpose. My brother has had almost ever my other watch model and now uses this for both work and marathon running and agrees Apple could of charged a lot more for it and it is still worth it.

with gps and receiving sms/call and streaming music how long the battery will last? your whole 40km run?

      • -1

Good on you for walking and owning apple watch but I don't own ANDROID watch yes this is still fricken Ultra expensive lol

      • That's all they do. Track Apple threads and come in uninvited, blurting out virtues of their virtueless phone/smart watches. Such sorry life

    • +7

Name another smart watch offers similar specs and price wise.

  • +3

So glad I don't use a smart watch. Imagine forking out $1.2k+ every four or so years for one

    • But imagine all the ozbargsin deals you miss

    • -4

so glad i dont use apple imagine camping out for 3 days in the winter on the street apple store

Imagine wanting to carry around a second "phone" at all times that's worse in every conceivable way than your primary phone, that has less features and functionality, which you have to interact with through a postage stamp-sized touchscreen that's barely usable and takes much longer to do anything on compared to your primary phone because humans have fingers instead of chopsticks for digits, which requires more frequent charging and has a shorter battery life and which costs well above most high-end smartphones.

And to top it off, it doesn't even perform its role as a basic watch very well compared to any cheap digital or analogue watch, most of which will keep time for their entire lifespan without freezing, crashing or running into stupid issues because of OS bugs.

      • You’re so right. I can’t wait to complete my next triathlon with my phone strapped to my arm. Might even go back to wired earphones as they are less likely to run into stupid issues versus Bluetooth. Thanks.

        • +1

Yes, I remember when triathletes were unable to finish races before the advent of the smart watch allowed them to monitor their heart rate every single second of the event and track their precise location to within 10 square meters, which *something something big brain science* made them faster and better at triathlons.

Thank God for smart watches, where would we be without them? (Answer: better off, happier and with more money).

Might even go back to wired earphones as they are less likely to run into stupid issues versus Bluetooth.

Was that irony? Because that's actually a valid advantage wired headphones have over BT headphones along with better sound quality.

Geez, how did we humans do anything before we were able to have music piped into our ears 24/7, the ability check our heart rate on-demand and view messages/emails on our wrists?

It's a wonder we lasted this long as a species, it really is. If only the builders of the pyramids had smart watches, they could have built even better ones than the complete let-downs we ended up with… those damned Egyptians needed to pull themselves up by their sandal-straps I'd say.

Anyway, I'd love to chat further but according to my Wristphone Wank-O-Tron 9000 I've just received an email, my heart rate is at 92bpm and it's going to be rainy soon… I have SO many important things to do right now! Toodles… my fellow wristphone wank-I mean enthusiast.

  • Gshock Apple solar watch with 1 year battery life is not too far away.

  • wow…thats ugly!

Wasn’t expecting this conversation goes that deep. Take it east people. Everyone has their own preference. If you dislike Apple product or Apple Watch just ignore this post and let others who has been seriously considering buying this to make their own decision haha 😂

Lol, yeah maybe if you've never seen a G-Shock torture test before.

      • And an iron nail is tougher than g shock. What is your point? The only thing common between a g shock and an Apple watch ultra is that they can both tell time.

    • wow this is in fact quite incredible - thanks for posting !
