So you play or watch content with thumb drive?

Some monitors act as a USB hub or have display input via USB C, or both. This means you can plug in one cable and a laptop can then connect up to mouse/keyboard/accessories that are in the back of the extra USB ports on back of monitor. Pretty convenient

        • Yes my office monitor, lenovo is like that. 2 monitors setup but Just one cable to one monitor is needed. It charges the laptop too.
          No separate hub needed.

Use this at work, it's quite nice actually!

  • Quite good price for 4K IPS. If refresh rate a bit higher it would be a bargain.

  • Excellent monitor. My daily driver and no complaints.

  • Been using this for a couple of years on one of those common monitor arms from Amazon. Tempted to have 2 but one is plenty of screen size

    • Is the colour good/accurate? Can it auto-select input source?

Need a couple monitors for my wife for WFH. This seems like a pretty good option. Might try and grab 2 from OW.

Edit: went on JB live chat and they price beat for me at $280 each if I bought 2 of them. They were happy to price match 1 at $299. Also picked up this keyboard and mouse combo for $39 price matched to good guys https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/logitech-mk345-wireless-k…

this is a great monitor, bought two of them a few years ago and use them daily working from home… have been looking to pick up a third, this is a great price, thank you!!

  • Noob here is it bad to have a dual monitor setup with 1440p and 2160p monitor? Will there be noticeable difference or affect gaming performance using 3080?

edit: I am planning to use the 1440p for gaming and 2160p for media/movies

    • +3

You will notice the difference in sharpness between the two screens, even if you manage to set the scaling to match across the two screens. It can do your head in. Don’t do it.

      • Cheers, might wait on a deal for another 1440p then.

  • I have this and the older model. Have been great for working from home. The stand that comes with it is pretty hopeless, so a decent monitor stand makes it more functional

  • Can I claim this 100% from tax return? I work from home most of the time..

  • This is vesa mount compatible, what size?

    • +1

It's a recessed 75mm mount. You need a spacer to use it with most 75/100mm mounts.

      • Do you need a spacer to use with F80 North Bayou, if yes where to buy it?

        • You will need a spacer. I've got a the same arm. It wouldn't fit without a spacer.

There's a few options. I've tried most of them 😢

If you've got a 3D printer, give this this a shot.

ergotron make a spacer. It has some little pins to hold it in place with their monitor arm. I filed them down to make it usable on the North Bayou monitor. You can buy it on Amazon

If you want to go cheap can buy some washers and longer M4 screws from Bunnings. It's a lot of stuffing around to make it work.

Don't waste your money on something like this. It doesn't fit. Another waste of time is this which doesn't give you enough room access all the screws.

I know way too much about mounting this monitor on an arm. I really need to find another hobby. DM me if you want my ergotron spacer and screws, I'm not using it.

          • @skwashd: Could i just use the spacers and longer screws from this pack?

            https://www.amazon.com.au/WALI-Universal-Mounting-Hardware-S…

            • @charliegrc: Probably, yes. It will depend on the length of the screws. You don't want them to be too long or it won't be steady. Too short and they won't hold your monitor.

Either way it's likely be a 2 person job. One person to deal the screws and the spacers and the other to hold the arm. It is easier to do it before attaching the arm to the desk. Expect a fair amount of swearing.

Managed to get JB online chat down to $275 when purchasing 2x monitors - great deal, effectively BOGOF of the regular ticket price.

        • Could you kindly provide me with your order number as well? Thanks a lot.

        • can i please get it too? Thanks

          • @eli8te: there is no more stock guys - tried to get online chat to match and they cant because theres no stock.

      • Can i please get it too if you don’t mind

  • +2

I just picked up the last one at The Good Guys Narre Warren. Went to JB Hifi first, but their stock reading of 1 unit was wrong. They had 1 unit or less in most South East stores.

I purchased the Lenovo L32P-30 around six months ago at $499. I didn't think I'd find a better value IPS 4K monitor for some time, but the UR55 looks great considering it's around half the price of most 32 inch IPS 4k monitors.

I don't game though (just use it for movies/tv), so YMMV.

  • Has anyone successfully updated the firmware in this monitor? Thanks.

  • Is it true this monitor only supports 4k @ 30hz when connnected via HDMI? Is 60hz only available via DP?

    • +3

Im connected via HDMI - reports as 4k 60Hz in both windows and on the monitor.

  • Any suggestionn on settings to calibrate pic quality?
