  • A saving of $20 from the usual RRP.

I am guessing one should buy the following snow cannon (which doesn't come with the box, unlike the $69 Ryobi one).
    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pressure-washer-foam-spray…

Is there a better foam sprayer / snow cannon that would be compatible with this unit?

    • +1

I ordered this Turbo Lance, hope will make it a bit more powerful.

      https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pressure-washer-turbo-lanc…

and I have this patio cleaner, a bit small but did the job.

      https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pressure-washer-patio-clea…

    • Would you need the foam sprayer listed in the above, in conjunction with the turbo lance you think, or just the one to foam a car down?

      • You'd probably want both but could get away with just the foamer. That Ozito unit should be strong enough to clean your average car. Turbo lance would help with aggitating tougher jobs. The foamer distributes your cleaning product.

      • +2

For car you don't need the turbo lance, for car cleaning don't use the max powerful.

        • But it’s the lance you’d love to touch…

          • @UncleRico: I can't work out how to order these but seem like handy accessories

            • +1

@Osiris: Have to do it in store special order desk.

              • @superforever: ah right for some reason I thought there was a way to do it online but seems like going into store is the sure fire way. Will make the trek at some stage this week.

                Thank you

Granted, it only takes a tenuous link to send me down Simpsons memory lane…

Is it worth getting this if you need all the attachments. Vs say https://www.bunnings.com.au/gerni-3300-1810psi-1500w-high-pr…
that has the foam $15 lance $15 so only $40 diff now.

      • Yeah, they are pretty similar but the Ozito is a lot more powerful.

        • You get 2 extra years of warranty on the Gerni, which I am sure you will need seeing all the reviews on the Gerni models.

    • You can use any foam cannon that has a Lavor adapter.

    • +2

I bought that foam sprayer initially and it was so unimpressive. It just didn't create foam like you see on youtube car wash vids. I used it 4 times and then it cracked around the neck of the bottle. I suspect the residual detergent left in the bottle between washes weakened the plastic.

After that I bought an Autoglym snow cannon and the Bowden's Own BOADAPTOR8 brass adaptor and the difference was night and day. It works just like you expect.

  • can wash car in NSW with this?

    • +11

no. its banned to wash ur car in NSW

      • Is it really? I see people washing their cars in NSW in their driveway.

        • You just need a trigger hose at the moment.

      • +1

        https://www.sydneywater.com.au/water-the-environment/what-we…

        You can:

wash your car, truck, van, motorbike or caravan using a bucket of water and a sponge, a hand-held hose fitted with an instant on-off mechanism such as a trigger nozzle, or high-pressure water cleaning equipment
wash your vehicle at a commercial car wash

  • +12

Something people must know; it doesn't much matter what wattage or psi they have, it's about how many litres per minute. EG: you can have 2000psi but only 1lt/pm, it would come out a mist and not wash anything off. If it was 2000psi and 8-9lt/pm it will wash ANYTHING off because it's pushing more water.
    The more water, the better!
Just something to keep in mind.

    • +2

      Thank you.

This one moves 7L/Min. In comparison, the Garni 1800W moves a 58 L/Min
      https://www.bunnings.com.au/gerni-5000-1885psi-1800w-high-pr…

      • +4

The Gerni should say 5.8L/min, not 58

        • Yes, just wondering how is it possible that much difference.

        • Yep. Definitely a typo. Expect a high water bill every time you clean your car or deck, if it was moving that much water per minute.

        • +2

          You are right.

I checked Garni's website and it says Max. Water Flow 8.7L/min

          https://gerni.com.au/products/high-pressure-washers/gerni-50…

I guess the Oztio is not that bad considering Garni is 3 times more expensive.

      • +5

        They miss a decimal point.
        5.8L/min

I dunno what machine can do 58L/min but it will probably strip car paint and smash all windows right away.

        • You'd need a bore to supply that much flow anyway. Standard mains won't keep up.

      • I was very tempted to get the karcher k4 last month but seeing these responses and the the Karcher k4 has a flow rate of 7L/min , why is there such a substantial difference in price?

        • Brand for one.
          Water cooled so durable
Attachment variety and wand with gauge
          Overall quality
Ozito warranty with bunnings is unbeatable though.

        • yeah looking around up to $400 it only goes to 8L/min. Not much diff

          • @furyou: Consider the gerni 4000 limited edition for $250 if you want to wash your car.

Similar specs but gerni is quality all round.
The k4 is probably the value but for karcher but 570 or something.

K5 is a big leap in price but for a massive premium.

            • @misguided_will:

Consider the gerni 4000 limited edition for $250 if you want to wash your car.

I really worry to use pressure washer to wash car, if set to the highest pressure.

              • @superforever: You ll be fine as long as you don't get too close. Just use medium or a white 40 degree nozzle.

            • @misguided_will: I have an old gerni.i use it maybe once yearly to clean the driveway of moss. It's Leaking oil now though. So I'm not sure how long it will last but I have all the attachments and the driveway cleaning attachment.

But since the new models seem to come with all the attachments anyway, I'm not wedded to the brand.

I also have the car cleaning attachment. Which I believe limits the power. But really, it doesn't clean the fine particles that get stuck. Apparently they can only come off with clay buffing.

I'm not sure what to get and when. I did my yearly clean so probably won't again until March

              • @furyou: Heavy contamination can only be removed with a clay bar.

If u use a more alkaline carwash, you'll keep the paint clean and reduce contamination.

But the specs of the ozito seem pretty reasonable.

Snow foam pre wash will help remove larger items and reduce scratches.

            • @misguided_will: gerni 4000 - seems similar spec to ozito
the oz I'd need to buy a few attachments so probably another 50?

how much diff does 0.5l/min make?
comparing everything from 6-8l doesn't sound like much.

Also the 4000 and Gerni 3600 seem almost identical but $30 diff?

          • @furyou: another option might be the bigboi which are about $350 on ebay at the month. has a higher flow rate, long hose and 2600psi apparently however its closer to 2000psi i've heard.

  • +3

    Bosch EasyAquatak 100 rated 6.7MPa (970psi) 4.5L/min
    This Ozito has 1450psi 6L/min

You have to find these numbers inside their manuals. All those big psi numbers on the boxes are 'permissible pressure' (i.e. scam). You will never get that. The pumps don't even output anything close to that power.

  • Can I use this to wash roof tiles?

If not, what's the recommended tool for DIY roof tile washing?

    • +5

I wouldn't recommend using a pressure washer to wash roof tiles with, it can cause them to crack.
When we got solar installed and wanted to clean the roof (full of mould, moss, lichen and dirt etc), we used Bioshield: www.bio-shield.com.au
It's a little pricey but I was told that products like wet and forget / 30 second cleaner are crap by friends that have tried using them before.
Mixed it with water into a garden sprayer, and gave it a spray. It takes a month or two to start seeing the effects but three months later our roof is completely clean, and it was VERY dirty before.

      • +1

Seems that Bio-Shield stuff is the basically the same as Wet & Forget, just cheaper overall.

      • I wouldn't recommend using a pressure washer to wash roof tiles with, it can cause them to crack.

All the quotes I have gotten from (highly rated) roof restorers (prior to installing solar panels) include pressure cleaning the tiles and gutters.
So, are they doing it wrong? They are supposed to be experts in the roof restoration industry.

        • +2

If they say they're going to clean your roof, you'd expect it to be clean by the time they leave, wouldn't you?
They pressure wash using low pressure, which cleans the tiles for sure but depending how old your tiles are there is always going to be a risk of cracks forming. That said, there's a risk of this happening when they're so much as walked on.
Worst comes to worst, you can replace broken tiles, it's not the end of the world.
They'll probably charge you an arm and a leg though, I got a quote for $1,200 to clean our roof. Got up there myself and did it with Bio Shield for about $100 and an hour of my time.

          • @j1nx: What's the safest way to spray the product onto the roof? Use a long garden hose, ladder, proper footwear and be careful where you step on the roof tiles?

            • @Handymancan: I used my garden sprayer and yeah, proper boots and make sure you know how to walk on roofs. If you’re not confident on a roof I’d say you could probably hire someone to do the spraying for you, say from Airtasker or something.

      • Appreciate the recommendation mate!

Can I use this product on exterior footpath tiles/stones as well? Or should I use a high-pressure washer instead?

        • Yeah it cleaned up our outside paths real well. There is a list of stuff you can use it on on their website.

      • Bio-shield state on their website that "Bio-Shield was tested and certified by two independent laboratories to have the same active ingredient as Wet and Forget" :
        https://www.bio-shield.com.au/wetandforget.html

        • Look up the SDS and buy from cleaning aisle at Bunnings. Can’t remember which one worked but I bought two about $10 a pop for 1lt bottles. One was a bleach type and the other not. (According to my clothing). Took a few months but worked as expected.

      • +1

Yeah, nah. These washer won't even come close to cracking your tile, only your fat bum if you trip on the roof. Just used this over the weekend and I literally used the highest pressure nozzle on them at 1cm distance to blow off the old paint on them. Best it could do was chipping of one single piece of cement among the tiles. Mind you mine is 40 years old cement tile that you can actually rub cement off the edge.

        • agreed. my tiles are approximately that old.

i got no idea how someone could crack the tiles with a pressure washer, at best it will blow off the old paint.

I pressure washed my entire roof before re sealing was simple enough 👌

Bioshield looks good but i didnt have time to wait around for a few months.

  • So is 6L/min good in pressure washers?

  • Can anyone tell what brand / model foam cannon is attached to this Ozito pressure cleaner?

    LINK: https://photos-eu.bazaarvoice.com/photo/2/cGhvdG86YnVubmluZ3…

  • Will this suit to wash Pavers in driveway? Or higher pressure washer is recommended.

    • Scroll down to the reviews. Some include photos.

    • Yes it will but will take a while if big area.

  • +2

I bought one of these last week, thought this was Normal price TBH. I previously had a similar spec gerni which was better built, heavier, better handle, longer spray arm etc. That failed after 6 yrs so got the ozito.
It is smaller, lighter, louder but cleans similar. It feels much cheaper but for 100 bucks does very well. Would recommend at the price.

Note we have big concrete areas and for those we borrow a friend's petrol with the round attachment. Wouldn't bother with the ozito only if spot cleaning or small areas.

  • Will this clean dirty concrete paths and driveways?

  • -1

I do not recommend this model. The plastic hose inlet on the two models I've owned (one a replacement) has cracked, meaning water gushes out everywhere except the pressure hose, and that was with light use.

I don't have a suggestion for a better unit, but save your money here.

    • +2

I bought the top of the line gerni 7300 and had the same thing happened
Exchanged once, repaired once, same issue
Gerni is owned by ozito as of the past couple of years

Either buy dirt cheap and expect it to only last to warranty, or buy a commercial unit

  • +1

I got this and its great for spot clean but will take ages for cleaning a drive way. The special pavement round attachment head (special bunnings order) doesnt work great. So if you are looking to do driveways, avoid.

  • I got this a couple of weeks back, pretty happy with it.

One part of the driveway had been left for ages and was stained pretty bad, cleaned up a treat. As others have said, its slow going though.

Cleaning in conjunction wtih the 30s outdoor cleaner seems to help break down some markings quite well so you can move a bit faster.

    • I use it with patio cleaner to clean my backyard paving, a bit small but better than just use the nozzle

      • Cheers, think ill probably gra\b one now that I know you've got to in store to order the accessories

        • 30s outdoor cleaner

I may have to try this, so just spray on the surface and leave it overnight before pressure wash it?

  • I wouldn't buy this
I bought a top of the line gerni, which is now owned by ozito, and it has failed catastrophically 3 times in a year
Either buy cheap and be prepared to exchange it regularly during warranty, or buy a commercial unit

    • So, what pressure cleaner are you using now?

      • I'm persevering with the gerni for now - it has 7 years warranty
My main issue is that I bought it before inflation kicked in, so if I get a refund I only have 2021 dollars which in hardware is significantly less. Heaps of price jumps, minimum 15%. The gerni jumped from $600 to $740

If I was buying new, I'd probably buy the $1k Makita unit at total tools.

  • Is this compatible with Bowden Snow cannon?

    • +1

You'll want the BOADAPTER8 or any other "Lavor" compatible adaptor

  • I bought Bosch 1700 watts 1885 PSI from Amazon on prime day. Is this better than that one? PSI is scam and have seen even 3000 PSI not doing job spe. driveway cleaning etc.
Bosch one seems effective this one seems cheaper.

  • I got the Karcher K2 with the Karcher foam cannon attachment and we have been pretty happy so far! Works well on the cars, especially the foam, provided you blend it rich enough. Pretty slow on the driveway, but that's not what I got it for.

  • can i use one of these to clean my shower tiles? or will it shrek them?

    • +1

Maybe. It’s relatively unlikely to turn them into a green ogre…

  • What's the original price of it?

  • I bought this as a person inexperienced with pressure washers. I tried it as soon as I got home at night and damaged my concrete surface, as I tried cleaning some dirt in a dimly lit alfresco. I was contemplating before if I needed something more powerful, and that's realized a nope for my current use case. It's smaller too than I expected so easy to store away. Now to get my self some concrete crack filler, cleaners and take it slow. Pumped for the weekend, now to only find a deal on the Bowden Snow Cannon for my investment vehicle. TLDR: go buy it if it's just for home stuff.

  • I also bought this one over the $70 more expensive Gerni (which have 5 year warranties).

Pumped for the weekend, now to only find a deal on the Bowden Snow Cannon for my investment vehicle. TLDR: go buy it if it's just for home stuff.

Same here. Waiting for a deal on the Bowden Snow Cannon + Lavor adapter.

  • Does anyone know what fitting this uses? I want to get this but not sure which fitting system it uses
    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32861463399.html

    • I've read you want the Lavor fitting to fit to Ozito

  • Does Ozito Pressure washer take this extension:
