Your order cannot be processed because of an issue with your payment card.

    • me2, seems the system is overloaded somehow. strange.

      • works for me,, i use paypal

      • Same message via app but works on the website

    • Not working with CC or Paypal

    • +1

Mine worked fine on the app. Also don’t forget to put them in your everyday pay wallet. It makes using gift cards a million times easier.

      • How do you add gift cards to everyday wallet? Just shows “scan your card”. I have gift cards bought a awhile ago to add

        • Assuming you have the latest version of the Everyday Rewards app (v23.13.1 on Android, v23.13.0 on iOS):

          • Launch the app

          • Tap on Wallet along the bottom of the screen

          • Swipe up the Wallet tab to hide the screen that is telling you to scan the QR code at the checkout

          • Tap the + button in the top right-hand corner of the screen

          • Tap Add a Gift Card

          • Enter the 19 digit gift card number (starting with 628000) and the PIN, then tap on Add. (You can add most physical and digital gift cards issued by Woolworths Group.)

          • @WookieMonster: does it mean you can only use the wallet at woolworths?

            • @pinkybrain: You can only use the Everyday Pay feature (i.e. scanning the QR code to initiate payment) at Woolworths, Woolworths Metro and BIG W, as these are the only three businesses accepting Everyday Pay.

You can still tap on a gift card stored in your Everyday Pay wallet to bring up the card details (including the redemption barcode), which means you can then manually redeem the gift card at all participating businesses (e.g. you can manually redeem a WISH gift card at EG Ampol).

  • Thanks OP,,

    Thanks. Ordered $1k worth

      • +32

Have another think about how interest rates work and come back…

        • +5

          And tax

        • +1

It really depends on how quickly you spend that $1,000.

Considering inflation this might just be a weekly shop for some.

          • @Tommyaka: For us, that $1k wouldn't even be 4 weeks worth.
So 13 times a year we would be saving $50… or $650p/a.

Why? Bank gives better return this days

So the bank would need to give us 65% on that $1k investment to break even.
And that's without even considering Every Rewards points return or tax on the interest.

      • +8

Bank is better if you are planning on just sitting on your gift card for a year or more without using it

        • +3

everyone need to buy groceries every week.

          • +1

@fishandchips: Maybe SydBoy is outsmarting us all and has a years worth of groceries already on hand.

            • +1

@wavesgreen: Isn't part of the cause of increased prices is due to all the hoarding folks carried out? ;)

  • It’s working fine for me through the app (Gifting Store).

  • +1

Just to confirm you can’t use these to buy other giftcards at woolies/big w right? Double dipping would be sweet

    • Unfortunately no :(

  • Anyone know if it works with shopback supermarket card?

  • +1

I'll take the extra 1%, cheers!

    • +6

      Or 0.8%, even

  • +1

Tried buying a second gift card using PayPal and got denied, anyone else?

    • me too

  • +71

Just be aware that this is not 5% off but only 4.76% off
    i.e. you pay $100 for a $105 gift card, hence 100/105=95.24%

you may get 4% off WW gift cards from My NRMA anytime and membership is free
Given deposit interest rate is 4%+ nowadays
you are actually worse off if you don't spend all of it within 3 months vs put the same amount in 3 months term deposit + only buy when you need from NRMA.

i.e. You pay $100 for a $105 gift card in this deal.
You pay $100.80 if you purchase through My NRMA.
You get $1.07 of interest, if you open a 3m 4.3% term deposit.
    $100.80-$1.07=$99.73
For every $105 gift card, you are $0.27 worse off if you leave it untouched for 3 months.

    • +4

Isn’t 4% interest rate per annum (from bank) = 4% interest only bank your money for full 12 months?
      3 months 4%p.a = 4% x 3/12 = 1%? Or is there a bank really pay 4% interest for only 3 months?

      • +2

yes, that's why you are worse off because you may get 4% off from My NRMA anytime.
        4.76%-4%=0.76% is less than 1%

        • +5

Ah, you are comparing this bonus 5% deal to normal 4% off deal + interest. Sorry, I thought you are comparing this deal to interest in bank.

    • +33

You forgot to deduct tax from the interest on your high interest deposit. Your net advantage only works if you're someone who pays no tax.

      • +3

What if you have the money in an offset account against a loan @ 6.49% 🤔
No tax but is interest/pa not once off…

      • +1

Ah, the old 'look how great my earnings are', then crying on social media about a fy tax debt! 🤣

    • Isn’t this 5% extra? 0.05 * $100 = $5?

      • +3

        Original price is $105
        you are paying $100 now.
        You save $5 for a $105 card.
        that's 4.76% off.

      • +1

It is 5% extra (bonus) or $5 bonus, he simply mean it isn’t 5% off

    • -2

I get 5% with RAA in SA.

      • +1

How do you get 5%? I can only see 4% via their app.

        • -2

Typo, I went to press 4%>

I thought everyone had access to 4% off through various providers.

    • -8

UBank give you 5% savings rate is better than this deal

      • +3

That’s 5% a year. I don’t think anyone is planning on not using their giftcard for a year

        • -5

Same for most people who buy $200 grocery per month but buy $1000 worth gift card

          • +4

@SydBoy: Why do you think most people buy $200 grocery per month. Do you have any stats to back that up or are you basing that only on how much you spend. I spend $200 a week in groceries and it’s not like I have 3 kids to feed. Can I assume you live at home with your parents or you eat out pretty much every meal every day to only spend $200 a month?

          • +1

            @SydBoy: $1000 / $200 = 5 months.

If someone spends $200 a month, your example should be about $2400 worth of gift cards

    • can it stack with senior card 5% discount to Wish gift card?
      If not which is better?

      • +1

Likely not, but give it a go!

WISH is better, as it can be used everywhere (i.e. petrol, booze) rather than just groceries.

Also as this is technically only 4.76% off… 5% off is better.

    • Macquarie Marketplace also 4% off WW gift cards
      and permanent membership

  • Wish they'd do a 10-15% off just Big W

    • +12

Since we're in the business of wishing, why not go for 100%?

      • +1

Wish they'd do wish cards for wish%

      • Is this the right thread for wishes? Ok, here goes.

I wish Boeing would offer me a 1,000,000% discount on a 787 Dreamliner.

Right, I have a phone call to make!

  • +38

You guys are gonna love this

How to get 4.84% off gift cards instead of the regular 4.76%:

    1. Custom amount
    2. $5.11 x 5 gift cards

Why $5.11? Because 5% of $5.11 is 25.55c, which Woolies kindly rounds up to 26c. This means instead of getting 5% bonus, you're technically getting 5.09% bonus which translates to 4.84% off. Buy 5 to maximise the number of gift cards you can get in one transaction.

Repeat this a few times and you'll be rich!

    • +11

You are the champion of OzBargain, all the hassle just earn 0.45cents (less than 1 cent)

      • +5

Or just befriend a senior and get 5% off.

        • +1

Or wait til 60 and become a senior

        • There must be another figure to stretch for 5% discount.

    • +6

Forgot to add: add all of these loose $5.37 gift cards to Everyday Pay which will consolidate them into a single balance and deduct from it at checkout, that way you won't need to scan them one by one at the self-serve to the ire of everyone else

    • -1

Repeat this and you'll be broke! Why? Saving != Earning

To earn 100x 26c, you need to spend 100x $5.11; To earn $26k, you need to spend $511k (~ half a million dollars)

      • +2

A penny saved is a penny earned.

        • You earn from your own money?

Wonder you need to pay tax in large amounts

    • +2

Teacher when will I use maths?

Isn't it better to buy the footy gift card from Prezzee, which can be exchanged to Woolworths/Big W gift cards?

  • Can I use a Woolworths e-gift card to buy this? Inception I know.

    • +2

No. Best you’d get is loading discounted prepaid credit cards to PayPal and paying with those.

  • Your order cannot be processed because of an issue with your payment card.

    .

    • No problems here using the Rewards app

  • I can’t remember but do seniors get 5% off usually anyway or was it just 4%?

    • Yes seniors get 5% off

      • In which States?

        • NSW

        • +2

          NSW, VIC
I have access from my parents, so this deal isn't really exciting to me at all lol

          • -1

@cwongtech: I mean you can stack this with the 5% seniors discount. Just putting the thought out there.

            • +2

@johnkash: Are you sure? The stacking hasn’t been possible in the past.

              • +1

@sween64: Yeah pretty sure doesn’t work senior is wish gift card not Woolworths, which can be use at the petrol station

      • Can I please have more information on this?

  • +8

Everyday Pay makes these really convenient to use.

    • totally agree, so easy to use, just scan the QR code and press pay, doneski!
Also means you dont forget about gift cards, let the app remember for you!

  • Thank you just bought $1500.

  • My order has been canceled 😞

“ Unfortunately, there has been an error processing your order.”

  • Thanks, worked on the rewards app.

  • Worked fine via website for me just now.

  • Has anyone tried to use the Coles MasterCard to buy? I keep getting an error.

    • +1

It worked the first time but I tried again with 2 different cards and it didn't work, also keep getting an error.

  • I tried Paypal and Paypal in 4 and both failed for 4 x $500 cards. Both times using my credit card which has more than enough available credit. "Your order cannot be completed."

    • This time just via credit card - "Something went wrong. Our system is temporarily unavailable."
