    Oh. Bloody hell. That's amazing.

Tad lame the 14" can't do 32gb, unless I'm missing something.

New Xiaoxin Pro 14 in Lenovo China comes default with 32gb, 7840HS, 1TB, 2.5K screen, 120HZ refresh rate, 400nits for around $1170 AUD at current exchange.

      • Link please!

        • Google Lenovo China, links are not permitted here.

I think its the 4th banner on main page

          • @Vater Woods: I think I found it - but how do I buy it. Do I have to use one of those companies that ships out of CN?

            • @busymoddingskyrim: Yes, you will need a Chinese friend to ship it out for you or bring it in with them.

Last time I got it shipped for around $90 aud.

              • @Vater Woods: Do you reccomend a service/website, low on Chinese friends. But I'm fully in for this device.

                • @busymoddingskyrim: Its almost $1200 Aud, unless its a Chinese friend. I wouldn't trust anyone with that amount of money, since they have to buy it in China first, then ship it out.

                • @busymoddingskyrim: I’m USYD graduate, currently in China waiting for my acceptance for a master degree. So if anyone want something in China, feel free to contact me.

      • Yeah i haven't seen it at that price obviously looking wrong place

      • Found it. Lenovo China website.

      • the 14 inch has one ssd slot, while the 16 inch has 2. I already put down a deposit for the 16 inch one and it will ship around 8 to 10th of august

This is a very good deal, 2K 16:10 display, local warranty, plenty of ports that envy mbp owners, very nice.

Although 32GB is a lot for a laptop but FYI…

      Max Memory
      16GB soldered memory, not upgradable
      32GB soldered memory, not upgradable
      Memory Slots
Memory soldered to systemboard, no slots, dual-channel

Not everyone might need 32GB but people should just be aware that the iGPU reserves some of the RAM as well so 16GB ended up being too little for me.

  • +2

If only they increased the backlight!

  • The laptop in AU is so expensive, approx. 1200AUD you can get the latest 2023 Ver. in other countries: 7840H(Zen4+RDNA3)+32GB+1TB+2.5K120Hz

  • Buy now, think later

    • Ran out of mula, hence no need to think!

  • This is an amazing deal. Any reasons why I shouldn't pull the trigger?

    • +3

If you need a better graphics card, touch screen or a lighter device :)

    • Because the 7760U/7780U is the one to get (when it arrives)

      • Is that the Zen 4? How long until it lands

        • +1

          Nah AMD updated its nomenclature.
Zen 4s would be 7740U or 7740HS, where 3th digit indicates the Zen architecture

          • @Gdsamp: Any idea when zen 4 lands and if it would be priced this cheaply?

            • @Jacko1235: Probably a year from now for it be anywhere near as cheap (and by then you'll have people telling you to wait for the next gen after that).

          • @Gdsamp: My bad, I knew I had a mistake. 7740U or 7540U is what I am waiting for.

      onboard graphics

      • +1

Onboard graphics here is actually decent. Same integrated GPU that powers the steamdeck.

    • Form factor - 2-in-1 Tablet Laptops like the Surface Pro are really awesome if you haven't considered them.

  • Good deal , anyone thinks JB HI or anyone else will price match this. Need one ASAP

  • Been looking for something like this deal but need a touch screen unfortunately… 😢

    8% Cashback through ShopBack.
Still have no idea if the code will work for shopback, The Notes section contradicts the Do’s and Don’t’s by saying "Cashback is eligible on any official Promo/Discount Code listed on the Lenovo website, regardless of it being listed on the ShopBack merchant page and up to 3 units per eligible product"
    https://www.shopback.com.au/lenovo

    @gotyourback Any ideas?

  • I bought the 14" last deal, but it hasn't arrived yet - 2 week turnaround from Hong Kong, which is slightly disappointing. Attempted delivery yesterday (with no prior notification) but I can't reschedule until Friday (when I'll WFH). It will be closer to 3 weeks by the time I get it. In case that factors into your decision.

    • Still waiting for the Legion I bought, said 2-3 weeks, will be 6 by the time I get it.

      • Good to know I'm not the only one lol

Tried to PM you about whether you had received yours or not since you ordered the same model as me but a week earlier.

        • Glad I saw this, replied. :-)

  • Yoga Pro 7 is a good price too with this current sale. Extremely tempted…

  • Purchased a Legion 7i Pro almost 3 weeks ago and still not shipped.

So take the estimated delivery time with a large grain of salt.

Frustrating as the price has come down by $70 for the exact same model in the meantime.

    • I got one of these IdeaPad Pros the Sunday before last with the FLASH coupon, received 7 days after ordering.

It's probably a matter of how much inventory they have ready to go, vs having to manufacture a custom machine up to spec.

      • It's probably a matter of how much inventory they have ready to go, vs having to manufacture a custom machine up to spec.

Yeah more likely an inventory issue since the one I bought you couldn't customise whatsoever.

The kicker though is…less than the week after I purchased mine, they had the same laptop model for sale (cheaper too) with an estimated delivery time of only 6 to 9 days! So I had hoped I would have got mine by now, but it seems the delivery estimate times are all over the place.

Anyhow, I'll wait until the 3 weeks are over before I hassle them.

Can this output 4k at 144hz?

  • Will this run Baldur's gate 3?

  • With read speeds up to 5200MB/s and write speeds up to 4775MB/s take your storage to the next level.

  • What's more 'premium' - Ideapad or Thinkbook range?

    I'm thinking for business use

  • Is 350 nits good enough if sitting outside?

    • +1

No, more likely need 500+ nits…

  • Wow impressive for the price!

    • +1

Try a few times worked for me after several attempts.

  • Seems good, anyone know if Linux works well on this?

  • Hi any idea if this is allow casing or plastic.

    • +1

I read that it has an aluminium top and bottom casing

  • Op any idea when deal expires

    • Today might be a good day to buy. 13% cashback through cash rewards.

"Cashback is eligible on codes generated by Lenovo on its website, even though they may not be listed on Cashrewards, provided last click before purchase is from Cashrewards."

So I assume the "August" coupon code will be ok?

      • Update: I made an order and it immediately tracked. So I think all is good. $165 in cashback

        • So it tracked using August code and you are getting back $165, i was actually going to wait another 3 days because i fly overseas on 6th october so its Just outside the 60 days to claim TRS but i guess 13% is better than the gst amount.

      • +1

Yes the coupon code definitely worked with cash rewards for me too.

  • Thanks OP. Just check educational lenovo shop and it costs more. $1,357.00

  • Has the AUGUST coupon code expired? It does not seem to work when you get to the final payment stage…

    • +1

I was on Lenovo chat last night and they said it was for the whole month of August.

      • Found out what the problem is: if you change the SSD option to "1 TB SSD M.2 2242 PCIe Gen4 TLC" (+$49), then the code stopped working. Grr….

  • Why don't the ideapad pro 5 have dedicated video cards like in U.S.

  • +1

Got one. Good for my needs.

Any idea how long it will take to get to me?

Also, never used cash rewards. How do I know if it's gone through.

  • Ordered one last Thursday on the 10th, said free ship in 6-9 days.

Got my estimated shipping date today, and it's 8/9/2023?

    Wtf.

  • +2

To everyone who ordered this or a similar configuration, how long has your battery lasted with moderate to heavy use? Asking because I've noticed it losing charge within an hour or two without many apps running at all.

    • Bloody fast though and I've realised it's far superior to my old Ryzen desktop.
