Thanks OP, can you have 4 of these units interconnected?

    Thanks OP.

Will this work as a mesh access point mode only (using Wi-Fi/ethernet backhaul to FTTN router)?

This says you can, but doesn't specify the Deco models (so likely?).

Edit: I needed to read properly, looks like it does according to the above link.

Option 1 FTTN setup: Use your VDSL2 modem as a modem/router and configure the Deco as wireless access point(s).

Option 2 FTTN setup: Use your VDSL2 modem as a modem bridged and configure the Deco as a router with Wi-Fi.

Disable Wi-Fi on the VDSL2 modem with both setups.

This is now out of stock for me, but that's helped! I think I'll need a 3x mesh system then with disabling the VDSL2 Wi-Fi.

Still not sure if it's going to work as I need to transmit down a hill. Worse case would be ethernet over power backhaul, I guess?

Thanks Twix (and for all the title fixes)!

EoP needs to be on the same circuit. Are you trying to get Wi-Fi between two buildings?

          • +1

@Twix: Yep, it's my brothers place and apparently it's on the same circuit (to his pool area). I guess we'll find out though :D

I've been waiting until a quality/robust mesh network is cheap enough to try, with the intention of EoP if it didn't work out.

Off topic, but I did pick up a new (but old) D-Link COVR-1103 3x pack @ $112 for the MIL a while back, was thinking of doing the same again (though would prefer WiFi-6 for music studio usage/backups).

@rompastompa: A cheaper Wi-Fi 6 mesh system might cover it. Order from somewhere with a good returns policy. The indoor and indoor/outdoor rated Ubiquiti wireless access points are another choice.

Out of stock (delivery) for me

    • Same

    • marked it out of stock, worth going past a store to double check, as have noticed in the past online isn't accurate

    Nah, i dont trust tplink.
    Have better experience with asus

  • Damn missed out, anyone get order confirmation?

    • Mines got through.

  • with these mesh devices, do i plug in each unit to the router/PC via ethernet cables? or is it all wifi

    • Deco (and I think most mesh systems) support any combination.

  • Been waiting for a while for a good mesh wifi deal, and missed this one !!

  • Ordered one last night as a present for a friend but was told this morning that it is an open box unit. Is it worth? Can't give it as a present…

    • Your "friend" as in buyers from eBay?

    • +1

its fine, aslong as box isn't damaged friend wont notice, you'll get full warranty, ask for a further discount for being open box

  • Maybe keep it for myself… Not sure if the unit is a returned one…

  • Anybody managed to pick one up in store?

  • Ordered last night and just received a formal invoice saying it has been supplied. Arranged for C&C and will see what happens.

    • +1

      Just picked up :)

Thanks OP looks like an opportunistic buy

  • So i realised i cant use this for my home landline…does anyone want to buy it off me?
Can I return to officeworks if opened?
