[QLD] $500 Voucher Towards The Supply & Installation of an Immobiliser for PCAR & LCOM (Cairns, Townsville, Mt Isa) @ QLD Police

Residents in the trial locations (Cairns, Townsville and Mt Isa) will be able to apply online for a $500 voucher towards the supply and installation of an engine immobiliser. The customers will present the voucher to a service provider who has been registered and approved as part of this trial.

To be eligible for a voucher, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Principal place of residence for the eligible vehicle is within the trial zone (postcode restrictions apply)
    • Cairns: Trial zone postcodes: 4865, 4868, 4869, 4870, 4878, 4879
    • Mt Isa: Trial zone postcodes: 4825
    • Townsville: Trial zone postcodes: 4810, 4811, 4812, 4814, 4815, 4817, 4818
  • Applicants must be the registered operator of an eligible vehicle registered in Queensland, with DTMR classifications of:
    • vehicle types – PCAR & LCOM
    • registration status – current
    • purpose of use – private, commercial, farming

To be eligible to be an approved installer, organisations must meet the following criteria:

  • have a valid and current Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • have staff who have qualifications to approve or conduct an installation in either/or-
    • a Mechanical certification III
    • Auto Electrics Certification III
    • ZEV qualifications
  • operate from a registered address in Queensland.

Current approved devices include:

  • CODE SAFE keypad engine immobiliser
  • RhinoCo Immobiliser with Keypad Model No. IM007
  • RhinoCo Car immobiliser with wireless keypad Model No. RAKP (must use wireless keypad not fobs)
  • Starter Stopper
  • Dynamco Cyclops P275PIN
  • Trackn RE147 Remote engine immobiliser (Note additional cost for annual subscription)
  • Trackn KP – 424 Keypad Immobiliser (Note additional cost for annual subscription)
  • Ghost Can bus Imobiliser
  • My Buddy Gard Car Tracker (Must use black wire version, with auto setting vehicle immobilisation)
  • Netstar ZX40KPW

  • Engine immobilizer a have been mandatory in new vehicles since 2001, so unsure if this will solve anything?
