nbn FTTP Superloop, Very Slow Speed

Hi everyone,

I switched my NBN from Spintel to Superloop last night and they activated it within 1-2 hours, problem is is it's incredibly slow to the point it's unusable. Online chat recommended resetting the router but that didn't work.

I turned my VPN on, set it to Melbourne and it's working perfectly!? I'm going to give them a call tomorrow, any help/ideas would be appreciated.

My router is a Telstra smart modem.

Edit:
The problem was they hadn't changed the IP address over

  • What NBN technology are you on?

Also, check the CVC Graph under your account to see if there appears to be any congestion.

I once had congestion with superloop and I had to point it out to the Rep via the graphs. When he finally acknowledged it, they fixed it within a few days.

I rejoined SL recently. CVC graphs and network diagnostics are gone. SL got Exetelled pretty bad.

        I just checked.

The are on the main login page.

      • I just noticed that usage stopped getting recorded mid-July though…

        • you have a new account now, check for an email from them.

I had the same problem today trying to figure out why my superloop account said it was "disconnected". No longer uses a weird login account email either, just your own email address.

            Hmmm… you're right…

I'll just keep using the old account to check CVC then.

    • NBN connection is FTTP

      • I guess that rules out wiring issues…

      • Make use of the Launtel and Aussie BB free trials. What Superloop plan did you signup for? Has the Superloop speed improved tonight?

        • 100/20 no lock-in

Speed is still the same, connection times out trying to connect to the firesitck

I'll call them in the morning

          • @Luckarti: Any updates?

@Twix: not sure if you saw the edit, they hadn't switched the ip address over

  • I had an issue similar. Downloads would start fast then go very slow. I changed my VPN port setting to Automatic and it's all good.

    • That doc looks handy…

  • Same problem as me it seems, I recently signed up to Exetel and my internet was very unstable, websites would load 25% of the time. Speed tests were also failing, but when they did load or start the speed was decent. Turns out the issue was the random IP pool i was assigned to, they eluded that the IPs in their may be blacklisted somehow. They assigned me a new static IP and that fixed all my issues.

  • I just moved away from superloop because their fttp was garbage. So many dropouts.
