Has anyone been to something like this before? How big are the queues at 12pm? How long before should you arrive?

Went to Burwood at 8am on a Saturday a few weeks ago found a giant queue of like 300 people waiting for A Merry Brown chicken store to open like 2 hours later. Were offering some sort of deal to the first 100 people as well.
Surprise surprise been back a few times since and the place is totally empty. How long until it goes bankrupt I don't know but it can't be too long.

      Deal is unobtainable totally worthless.

Good luck. There will be a line of kids for miles.

100 only, that's not going to last long.

  • Better than offering free PS5 in NY though some of those teenage gangs in Surrey Hills are pretty tough, could be a riot!

LOL Burgertory closed down in Footscray.

Owner of the chain had a whinge during the Omicron wave.

  • Not sure I would open a burger store in today's economic climate. My local New York Minute store closed down just after 2 years in operation.

    • I have understood historically that good value fast food does well during a recession (maccas/ KFC etc)

    • Owner of the chain was opening stores during lockdowns.

  • Keep in mind if it worth going with traffic around Mont Albert Surrey Hills with all the level crossing removal project currently going on, eg closed roads and streets, reduced lanes on main road.

  • Just arrived and got a token in line. There's approximately 70 people here 11.58am

  • No more available 12.02pm. I think I got lucky

Food was great! I had a Lust burger and my partner had a Pride burger. The atmosphere was great too and the staff really welcoming and grateful.

Thanks, great to hear you enjoyed the experience. I'll visit the place in weeks to come.

  • The new your style cookie is delicious!

I made the mistake of foolishly thinking I could order 2 burgers including the free one, either online or by phoning the store. The website was not helpful; requiring full payment for both. Trying to ring was nearly impossible to get an answer but when twice I did, it put me on hold for music for a long time before telling me sorry that my call could not be taken and they hung up on me. By the end of a couple of hours trying, I figured that it was too late to go there in person, especially considering the impossible parking due to the train station reconstruction vehicles everywhere. So, I gave up and am somewhat disgruntled.
