Just saw that Brainwavz Beta with In-Line Microphone earphones are down to $14 (AUD - prices on MP4Nation are USD). I think this is the cheapest they have been.
I've been using them (and just ordered 2 more as gifts) and I can vouch for the sound quality for the price range. Great step up from Iphone stock earbuds. Very balanced. The call answer/pause/play button works well (tested with Iphone 4 and HTC One X).

        I was about to ask the same thing, I wouldn't say that the UE 200 are rubbish for the price range. They certainly put the iPod buds to shame on my iPod classic.

        Actually i have a feeling mine maybe 220's. Edit/ Yeah mine are the shiny looking 220's. UE200 sucks! :p

          instead of the sound quality - hows the durability?
          the bundle of ue200's have been lasting me around 6-8 months each. Would be nice to have something more durable.

      Good bass, I use these with my HTC phone and I have downloaded an Equalizer app to boost sound. Sounds really good, highly recommend these headphones.

      They define these as warm-balanced, so they are not big on bass. They are just right for my liking, especially when I get a good seal, but may not be enough for bass-heads. Another thing I've come accross is people who complain about the bass usually are using the comply foam eartips. Silicons ones give you a better seal.

        Ah ok, oh well i'll bite, including the comply foam tips make it that much better. Probably way better than my UE200's. A bit worried about the isolation annoying people on the train though…

        I find I get a better seal on my complys than my silicon with my M4 (which I got from your recommendation :)), maybe i have strange ear canals?

          Funny you mentioned that. I own a pair of Klipsch that come with an eliptic shaped eartips that is supposed to be the most comfortable thing. And, boy, I can't wear them longer than 30 minutes, my ears start hurting. So you might be right, I might have strangely shaped ear canals!

          By the way, for poeple who haven't used comply foam tips: They ARE the most comfortable things. They take the shape of your ear canal, activated with your body heat and they get back to their original shape when you take them out. They are awesome and they seal well. I just feel like silicon seals a bit better (if it's a good fit), but nowhere near as comfortable.

    I don't suppose anyone would have any idea whether these could closely compare to the Audio Technika CKM50 Red Inner's I got on here a year or so back for $33? They have been absolutely awesome for me and I could never go back to shitty ipod headphones. Just dont want to waste my money for something thats quite inferior to what I am used too.

    I bought these last time the deal was on. I also own a pair of UE220s and I prefer the sound quality of the UE220s. The Beta is more balanced than the UE220s - which produce a thumping bass sound.

    Beta's fit in my ear better than the UE220s, and it comes down to a more flexible cord and the ear buds fit better. The UE220s have a stiffer cord and the ear buds don't seem to stick in as well.

    Those are my two cents.

    Noooo just bought a few days ago Vsonic GR02 Bass which is being shipped.

    Take a look at them as an alternative if anyone is interested - more bass for bassheads, but not overpowering, but no in-line mic.
    Has a value of 10/10 on the head-fi link posted in the above post description (search for 3A69), though 2-3x expensive sitting at $36 USD on ebay.

      hmmm, yes, these have a plastic shell, but they are reasonably built, especially for this price range.

      also, if there is any fault with the earphones, MP4Nation replaces them (Like I said above, happened to me once and it got replaced in week).

      Yes, it does have a mic in the cable and a button which you can use to answer calls, pause and play music. I am using these with my HTC One X at the moment, so I would assume they would work fine with your SGS2 (given that they are both Android). Correct me if I am wrong people.

    when i checked out, the billing address and the shipping was different.
    I made it the same address but for the shipping the state had 'Ne' while the billing had 'NSW'.

    I just hope they send it to NSW instead of Ne.

      I did see in a few reviews that they work fine with Nexus (don't know is nexus s would be different). I can also confirm that they work well with my HTC One X (ICS).
