2x $30 PlayStation Network Cards for $50 - Dick Smith

570

Hey all,

Nothing major, but figured with the Playstation Plus Membership offer the 2x $30's for $50 would be good to stack on top of that, even if you're only saving $2 you've got an extra $10 to buy something else.

I believe this deal is on all weekend and maybe Monday but I'd have to double check tomorrow.

  • is this available nationwide?

    • Should be, I believe it was put through the system today, however not 100% sure.

Best calling before hand just to be sure for now though.

Perfect timing. Bout to purchase another years worth of ps plus and will use the extra psn cash to buy a vita game.

    • of interest -> http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/79090

Yeh that's why I am buying another year now, my current subscription still has another month or so ;-) cheers though!

        • Mine has 8 months left but its a bargain I can't resist.

        • mine has 11 months left :(

        • mine expires in Jan. Just renewed now. I've only ever subscribed during the discount periods. Yay!

  • Oh cool so we can use this to buy the one year of PSplus membership? Anyone know if Woolies staff discount can be combined with this?
edit: oh looks like it can, based on the receipt you uploaded! Awesome!

    • they are getting rid of the staff discount with dick smith soon :(
edit:my bad, it's the rewards card system

      • Probably the staff discount for Woolies staff once they sell it as well.

"lol @Jeanswest, if you want to get laughed at on the streets go ahead. I only wear g-star or nudie when im out."

the hypocrisy is strong in this one.

    • If you are not interested in this deal then why comment?

Stop trying to high road some people who just want to save some cash on something THEY want.

If you are not interested in this deal then why comment?

Lol wait! You mean to tell me that a prerequisite for making a comment on here is that you must be interested in the deal?? Oh snap! I've been doing this all wrong. I really must get around to reading the OzB rules one of these days. :P

While I thought Tenma's comment was wack, and he received one of my highly-prized negs, the first part of your comment was nearly just as bad.. the second part was its one saving grace. :)

    • Maybe sell your computer then. You could probably sponsor that same child for life, rather than "introducing" him to a "better life" and then making him revert back to his normal life. And get rid of your iPhone 4S too and get an Android. That could help you sponsor a second child.

    • Makes me sad what people choose to spend their money on. Im sitting here thinking I will again choose to sponser another child in Africa for another 60 days.

Makes me sad ive really got nothing better to do atm, than to read that comment…

    • You must be fun at parties. Also, it's 'sponsor'.

    • +14

Are there any deals on these children in Africa?

    • +3

Makes me sad you just sit there thinking of sponsoring ONE child. Why not 2 or 10? Do you have a LCD TV at home? That's sad, should of spent that money sponsoring 2,000 children.

    • I don't suppose you'd consider deleting your account, Dr. Tenma? You only detract from this site.

I'm tempted to try this American PSN method with the help of the posts from this Whirlpool forum topic

    • ALOT better pricing when the dollar is equal, example Transformers fall of cybertron, $69 in store, 95$ on the AU PSN, and 59$ on the US PSN. 40$ difference and at a time when our dollar is worth more than theres!!!!

      • I've read through about the first half of that topic (it's pretty long) and I don't really get what it means by "when the dollar is equal". What exchange rate is used? From the comments, it seems like the only way for us to recharge "credit" into an American PSN account is by buying prepaid PSN US credit (the US version of this deal).

Yep, that's the way to go (Best Buy), I set up a US and UK PSN account (using sony's US big Apple address and Arsenal FC address for the UK). To get cheaper Singstar tracks(don't judge!). At the time Aussie PSN songs $2.99, and from memory US $1.99 for the same thing!.

      • So you guys saying even with the PSN card discount and AU PSN+ offer, it is still better to sign up for US PSN+?

      • Bestbuy aren't selling online cards now.

        • Damn, when did they stop? I bought some from them just a couple months ago.

        • Week or so ago. Shortly before this nobody seemed to be able to buy, all declined. Make of it what you will.

      • @ozf1: I thought DLC was all region locked? Wouldn't Singstar tracks count as a form of DLC?
@wildstone: I don't know enough about it, but I'm trying to figure out what exactly the differences are of Aus PSN+ and US PSN+. Supposedly $50USD for one year for US PSN+ and currently about the same for Aus PSN+ by combining these discount cards. But some people are saying that the $50USD is actually $57 AUD? I don't really get why it's the $50 USD PSN+ subscription is $57 AUD - seeing as $50 USD = $48 AUD.

        • I guess it is because a lot of online sites sell $50 psn for more than US$50. The sell it like $58-$60.

It would be great if someone can give a detailed benefits and comparison of US PSN+.

        • It's a bit of give and take. Some offers, like RDR, have come the EU/AU Store and not the US one and vice versa. I stuck with the AU PSN because buying things with the discounts I get is a much simpler process than reloading prepaid cards from america, but each to their own.

  • Always good to get PSN cards when it's on sale, even if it's to have a few spares! Still got some left over from JB's last PSN card sale.

  • Paid $47.50 with staff discount Good news for when more GT5 DLC comes out.

  • Grabbed the 2 for $50 at DSE in Nunawading VIC - wasn't advertised at the cards, but asked the guy and they scanned up at $50.
Now for some extra psn+ :)

  • Was just told in the Bondi Junction, NSW store "That deal expired a few weeks ago".

    • +2

Did you get them to scan 2 cards and see?
Local store did not know about the deal, but came up on the pc when they scanned 2

      • I went back and sure enough they scanned in at $50.

        • good result
