        • Do you really?, what frequency?, I will get out of one of my radios and have a listen. I got a 16m long wire to a balun (earthed) in the back yard it was 20m but some of it broke am i yet to fix it.

    The range is mostly short enough to be useless for most of us.

    • My dad is 95kms down the M5 from Sydney and he manages signal on the radio in the lounge room. Surely it can't be that bad that its useless to "Most of us"

      • Up here in QLD they are deliberately restricting the wattage output in Brisbane as to not upset the small local radio channels outside the city, so there's no reception up at the Sunshine coast for example.

    • Most of us actually live in major cities… at least in australia
