I bounce between this and amaysim every year

    • Do you have issues porting between the two as both use the Optus network? Or do you use a $2 non-Optus sim in between?

      • +2

No issues, happened within 15 mins both times i did it

    • I also used to use Catch more. but Catch is not good in my new area.
So, I use Boost which is on Telstra.
I go one month on Kogan or something else, then go back on Boost

    thanks OP!
note that its also $89 at catch -

for those who have access to discounted gift cards, e.g. via Reward Gateway 8%, can even bring this down further.

  • Any better deals for a 12-month plan with international calls/texts? I m waiting for this from Amaysim

  • +2

1 downside which I didn't realise before switching to an Optus MVNO is you can't conference calls (i.e. add a second call and merge). Good price like the recent Amaysim cashrewards deal.

    • Can't one of the other people talking link you in instead of you, them?

      • Yes this works

  • +2

I just paid $120 for it 2 days ago.

Please hand in your Ozbargain membership.

I got a text message saying my Boost plan expired so it was an emergency.

        EDIT:

Catch won't cancel my order or refund me the difference.

        Sigh.

        • +1

The online chat is responsive but not very helpful haha

    • But you would have got 120gb (double data) as I bought it 2 days ago as well. This offer is for 60gb.

  • What's the best deal if already on catch and plan expiry in november?

    • +1

Just switch out to a random monthly deal like Boost and then switch back

      • Yeah I was going to say that. Get a Cashrewards Boost SIM that pays you. Or port to a $2 SIM from ColesWorths, don't add any recharge value, port back to Catch.

So current Catch users can't buy this and add it to their existing service?

      • See my reply about BOOST - hit wrong reply spot

    • With BOOST free using Cashrewards atm can’t do better for a port ouy

  • +1

    Do Catch do esim?

    • +2

      Nope

  • +1

    No eSIM, right?

    • +2

      No eSIM

      • +1

Which ones have esim other than main 3?

      • I guess I just saw it for the data instead of thinking of the calls and text for the whole year.

      • Because thi is ozbargain and the vendor is expected to pay the buyer for using their product otherwise it's not a deal!!!

    • Lmao just a casually pay 4 times more

      • +1

yeah nuh I now realise this was stupid, I was just super focused on the data because I've been looking at getting more data lately.

  • +1

is there any things that cheaper with 365 days, unlimited call and less data? i dont need much data actually

    • +1

Last yr there was black friday deals with Amaysim (Optus owned) 60gb were $60
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/738548#comment

      60GB/12 Month/ $60, 150GB/6 Month/ $75, 180GB/12 Month/ $100

Our fam is sim hopping until black friday rolls around where everyone will pick the yearly plan that works for them based on carrier and price / features.

      • also a few weeks ago this deal was back

    • Learn to SIM bar girl another 11 times a year. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/792804. You can do it, just believe in yourself. And get paid to. ;-D

      • … but it doesn't work for keeping the same number. Need to port out in between, or dual-sim.

  • +2

Activate SIM within 30 days of purchase, or by the date advertised in a promotion, whichever is earlier. This would the 29th Aug.

    • +2

don't worry about that, I activated after 90 days and the plan was still there.

      • Thanks!! Was wondering too

  • Catch ever has deals for existing customers at all? lol

    • +4

No, network service providers are as bad as banks & insurance companies in this regard. That's why professionals sim slut around.

      • +5

        Sim slut gang

What is the cheapest mobile plan to port out of Boost for 1 month or so, so I can port back in?

    • +2

Aldi has one for $5, and Catch has one for $10. I haven't tried either so be careful. I think the best plan is (if you can) eSIM the cheapest 365 day anyasim plan, and then get boost sims. That way you don't have to go through the hassle of porting and making sure you have somewhere to go in-between ports.

    • Super alerts often have monthly kits for $10-$15

    • Lebara has $7.45 special ATM

  • MATE $1 atm
You can port out and back in straight away - not yet received sim 2-10 business days it said

  • Thanks OP - bought it.

  • I'm after a cheap data sim I can use in a mobile 4g router - don't care about the the calls. Presumably I could just use this?

  • Hey gang, is this one where they send you a physical sim in the post?

  • I usually alternate between this and amaysim annually as I prefer Optus but my workmate is looking for the equivalent pair on the Telstra network. Boost would be one but can someone recommend what the other one would be?

    • Woolworths & Aldi Mobile are on the Telstra network but apparently not the full network like Boost.

  • What is the cheapest 1 year mobile plan in the market now? I don't need data. Just a sim card with some call and SMS

    • This equates to $7.42 per month. I'm not aware of anything cheaper.

  • Does this give access to Optus 5G network? Or does this stay on 4G?

    • Also worth noting, currently with Optus. How easy is it to port over my number, and cancel Optus plan (month to month)

  • LOL! This deal is still working fine on the CC website.
Catch has already taken it down.

Also, I find Catch Connect to be extremely lax when it comes to ID verification. They don't ask for any ID.
But they just hold onto the credit card data.
