So does the Meross app and you can set whether it is open for too long and if you want an audible noise when the door is going down.
You can also set what your expected time to open and close is and get an alert if it exceeds that time - eg someone blocks it closing after you've driven away.

      • Nice, so it would be nice to have support for Tuya\Smartlife for easier management, may be it already does. I overlooked the details and assumed that it only automates opening and closuring operations.

        Does it support Alexa routines?

  • Can it be linked to both Google and Apple so either can be used?

  • I installed one of these at a friend's house. The actual physical install is quite easy and took no time but pairing it with the app & her wifi was a little fiddly but we got it in the end.

She loves being able to voice command her garage door to open & close (especially as her kids spilt liquid on the remotes).

  • I’ve gone through two of these units in the last 6 months.preface by saying it might be due to me being a n00b but I ended up giving up on them.

First time it paired easily and worked well for a couple months. Then one day it intermittently started showing “no response” where it wouldn’t work. One day, I’d gotten so use to the unit working, I didn’t take my keys out with me thinking I would be able to get into the garage with my phone - long story short, I had to call the emergency locksmith. After that I decided to try to ‘fix’ the no response issue; I tried restarting, unpairing and re-pairing, what felt like 100 times, to no avail. I ended up giving unit to my father in law who was able to pair it first go.

A few weeks later I bought a brand new unit, same product, it paired easily first time but started getting the ‘no response’ message after a couple of weeks. I’ve sadly given up - anyone else experienced this?

    • try contacting their support [email protected] they were really responsive to my questions

Sounds like a Wifi issue.. either your router is too far or your wifi network is overloaded

      • OP has UniFi WAP, known compatibility issue between newer UniFi WAP firmwares and the MSG100. Rolling the firmware back to 6.2.39 and the MSG100's will stop giving a "no response" in HomeKit.

I've had two of these for a while now and they work pretty reliably with my Merlin Tiltmaster MT100EVO openers for our sectional doors. Install was pretty easy. I bought to integrate into Apple HomeKit so that the garage door would pop up on my CarPlay home screen when I'm near my house. I'd recommend you adjust the time for door open / close to be slightly longer than it is so you don't get any "Obstruction Detected" messages.I've ran into two issues with them.

The first issue was more a something dumb that CarPlay does. If you have more than one MSG100 connected to HomeKit the opener that appears on the CarPlay home screen is the last door you used from your iPhone's Control Centre (right corner pull down). There's no ability in CarPlay to set which opener appears in which car if you have separate garage doors for different cars. Adding this as a setting has been a feature request of CarPlay for numerous versions now.

The second issue occurred later with newer firmware images on my Ubquiti UniFi UAP-AC-PRO WAP's caused the MSG100's to stop responding despite them being connected. A reboot of the MSG100's or WAP would get them back online for a while. Looking into the issue I found numerous UniFi users having the issue, rolled the firmware back to 6.2.39 and the devices are working happily again.

I’m an UniFi user so this could be my issue - will check it out. Thanks for sharing.

I've got both of mine set to 25 secs now. I think I had it at 20 before as the doors close quicker than that. The other time when I get the obstrcution detected is when people stop the door opening or closing half way through. The only way to clearer it then is to open fully & close through HomeKit.

        • I've had mine set to 10s ever since I installed it, which is pretty close to the actual time it takes, but always had the Obstruction Detected message.

Just changed it to 25s like you suggested, and it appears to have fixed it, atleast as I'm testing it. Thanks!

          • @buckethat: I think when I timed my doors they closed in 18 or 19 seconds, so I set to 20 but obviously that 1 second different wasn't enough.

  • Have had this just about 2 years and the sensor seems to be gone now. Keeps saying my door is open and sending me notifications but it's closed. I can still tap it in the app and the door opens/closes but at the end it says operation failed. Had to set up a camera just so I can check if the door is actually open or not.

  • Another good China product
