  • I recently came across this website and found it very useful for a cheap data plan for a cellular watch.

You can get 365 day expiry date with low investment cost (5 bucks, 10 bucks etc). Much better than many typical offers costing 10 bucks a month plus

    • Had a look but couldn't find any with 365 days for that low a price. They only have 30 days for Australian offerings, and Global 365 is US$69. Could you share a link?

I use this Amaysim $10 long expiry plan for my watch with a stand alone phone number.

      • Attempting thx, however upon checking the compatible devices on the page Apple Watch does not seem to be included? Also the QA page called out Apple Watch is not yet supported? Care to share how you managed to get it work?

I am using an OG Samsung Watch by the way, and I did this a few months ago now so I’m not sure if this is still accurate.
          In the Samsung Wearable app.
          1. Tap the hamburger
          2. Tap “About Galaxy Wearable”
          3. Tap “Galaxy Watch Plugin Version” 10 times.
          4. Tap “Test ESIM Feature”
          5. Set “Current QR Test Mode” to ON
You can then add an esim to your watch using the QR code scanner.

  • data only for NZ one sadly
but spose thats not the worst

  • I've used this service before and it's good and painless. Note though that not all countries are supported, which I found out the hard way last time I went to Singapore and tried to get an esim from them as I was boarding the plane

    • Which country are you referring to? I found Singapore in their list.

      • Yup, looks like they just added it in the last few weeks. It wasn't available when I travelled there last a couple of months ago

  • Hi! Would the regional sims be worth getting if travelling multiple countries (Thailand, SIngapore, Japan) or am I better off getting an individual eSim for each country? Also curious if people would consider Airalo or Travelkon for eSims? :)

Depends on the countries and how long you're staying in each as there's generally a minimum cost and expiry if you get one for each country. Also some countries are much more expensive than others in $/GB.

e.g Thailand is dirt cheap so if you're spending most of your time there, individual eSIMs probably make more sense.

Also if you're going back to a country, note that you may not be able to reactivate a previously used eSIM so in that case a regional or global eSIM would be better.
