$499. Usually $749.

The heat on these things uses a bit of power and goes alright for a small room. Doesn't actually cool, is just a fan for cooling. I know someone who owns one and I have been waiting for them to go on sale.

*Does not connect to the MyDyson™ app.

Might also be cheaper tomorrow if stacked with afterpay for afterpay day? Try your luck

Thread from last time on sale. Dont seem to get them for much cheaper in the past. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/782958

EDIT: Thursday 17th August - Is now cheaper for afterpay day. $424.15

    • no smarts / app control on this model
    • be aware of price of replacement filters before purchase

I have one like this and after trying heaps of different small room heaters this works best by far. Also echo the above statement regarding filters. Not cheap

  • +1

Better off getting a reverse cycle split system and using your window to purify the air

    • +8

Last splitty i got installed was $1500. Also, a renter wouldnt buy a splitty.

    • Even a portable reverse cycle aircon would be superior. Significantly cheaper to heat the air (up to 3x more efficient) and actually cools the air, not just blows ambient air around pretending to cool it.

what a useless product, get yourself an oil column heater or a ceramic one for $50.

    • +2

Would love an oil heater, but this is for my toddlers room. Will be much safer than an oil heater or pedestal fan.

      • -5

if not renting, get a splitty. 3 times more efficient than this.

    • I bought an oil heater to use my dyson less. It's way worse.

      • how so

        • Makes me much less warm. Which I feel like is the main benefit to a heater.

          • @bahgsy: get a bigger oil heater?

            • @cauilfield: 2400W is the most you can get right? Realistically, I have a relatively large room and an oil heater just isn't up to the task of heating the full space, so directional heat is all that works.

I mean, I could wear an Oodie, but I'm not about that life.

Do you have to install the fan blades yourself or will they do it in store?

    • Need an electrical engineering degree to install.

      • Lol

    • Fan blades are not included.

  • +1

Better check it out in stores ie jbhifi before purchasing.
It is quite small, at least much smaller than I expected.

    • +24

      That's what charmanmum said.

      • +2

        😂

      • looks like it worked in the end tho

        • +1

Yes, size has no/minimal effect on functionality.

  • How long does the filter last and can it not be changed?

    • +2

my personal experience, i just cleaned it lol

    • +3

4300 hours. Approx 12 months if used for 12 hours a day.

  • +1

Its same price with Hardly Normal as well

  • +17

Same price on their eBay listing

Add a $1 item to use the code HGTAUG, and get an additional $50 off. I went for a USB Type-C Cable for $1.99. Total paid $450.99

  • is this the one you can use in bathrooms

  • Have this one and works well for our master bed (4.7m x 5.7m)

  • Thanks for the post OP.

I'm thinking of buying two (one for bedroom one for study) as I'm currently renting (cant install a splitty) and the gas bill is about 400ish every month. The house gets really cold and has bad insulation.
I might wait for the AFTERPAY sale though and see if it brings it down further.

Any recommendations if I should go for two of the same model as my study room is small but master is bigger.

    • +2

It's a fan heater at the end. For energy saving, get a heating jacket.

      • +1

        And/or electric blanket

    • Not really, just close the door, use a door snake, close windows and blinds and stuff to try and keep the heat in. Put up a curtain if you can and allowed. Set it to 19 or similar, doesn't need to run at 24 and use tonnes of juice, 19 is comfortable with socks and some loose clothes on.

Dyson also have a liberal return policy, 45 day money back guarantee. Don't like it, send it back. Or true ozbargainer, in 45 days will be warm weather, send it back 😂

  • I used hp03 before and can't say I'm impressed with the air purifying result. Would love some suggestions as my neighbour smokes a lot. Thanks!

    • Move.

    • +1

      Bikies.

    • Take up smoking.

    • -1

Get a barrel, and a chemical mask and burn dog/chicken/cow shit with a fan blowing their direction. They'll really enjoy that! - tbh I just constantly yelled out profanities, stated the obvious cancers and slammed doors/windows shut when I had to deal with that. Too many times to count. When a smoker is sick, I got no sympathy for long-term stupidity!

      • Get a barrel, and a chemical mask and burn dog/chicken/cow shit with a fan blowing their direction.

It is tempting but that's too much passive aggression for me. Can't see how profanities will help other than perhaps exacerbate the situation… Really wish fewer people smoke.

        • +1

The situation is already exacerbated for you. Who gives a f*k about them - clearly they don't care about u. Most smokers tend to be selfish with that.

Wishing isn't gonna do shit. People are dumb. They do dumb shit as a result of being dumb. I'm a fairly nice person but just lived through too much dumb shit. And I'm done with it. People wanna smoke and/or drink, and u cry sick and die - I say fuk-em - idea is to quit, the evidence is so overwhelming that smoking/drinking causes cancer.

          • @cobknob: very strong and compelling view, thanks for the advice. :)

            • @gottadeal: Theres a point you'll be done with it too. 30+ years, if its not a family member, it's a neighbor. Hard to escape.

Wish I had better advice or a helpful solution - everyone is entitled to smoke-free fresh air.

    • I have 2 of these in my house and it does a decent job of clearing out smoke. Worked well during black summer. Says out of stock but can shop around or generally recommend philips purifiers.

      https://www.binglee.com.au/products/philips-ac1215-70-air-pu…

      • Thanks! Are these also good for pollen allergies? Any views on Philips's warranty process? I have never had any experience with their warranty. This one looks discontinued so might look into the alternative models.

        • I found it great for pollen and dust but ymmv. You do need to clean the dust filter out regularly, like once a fortnight, but we practically dont dust anymore. Its easy on this model, out, scrape outside over bin with fingers, back in.

Ive never had experience with their warranty either, cant say i had many philips products fail too though. Weve had these 3 years now? Practically run 24x7 and still great.

  • +1

Safest option for kids bedroom. The outer structure never gets hot; so safe if kids actually touch it. As suggested earlier, set at 19 overnight on night mode and it maintains the correct warmth during the night.

    • 19 is too warm to sleep, it's better to be a bit cold. Just give them warmer blankets

  • +1

$424.15 now for afterpay day via ebay. Dyson have a liberal return policy so if you paid $499, simply return it :)

  • I paid similar or slightly more for the HP03 previously and just wanted to say the app connectedness is a big part of the features we enjoy daily being able to connect / start / automate via google home and also being able to turn on / off heater when not home and monitor the air quality levels. If these features are important going forward I would wait for the one you can actually connect to the app
