  • Can be used for gaming? 😅

I'm planning to use for light gun gaming, time crisis and the like.

      • Haha, great idea, right in the nostalgia!

How are you playing time crisis? PS3 or something still? I remember having it on one of the PS's, and the gun attachment and all but no foot switching.. Also I don't remember it ever coming out on PC yeah?

I use launchbox and have PS, PS1,2 etc versions of it.

The group I am part of has recently released TC5 for inclusion. All up we are at about 500 light gun games across all platforms.

          Good fun

            @jollster101: Niceeeeeeeeee! That sounds wicked!

          • @jollster101: Can i ask, which group are you a part of?

            • +1

@Thooperman: He's not gonna spill. First rule of Light Gun Club….

              • @hughc: Yep, there's plenty of prebuilt lightgun images floating about. Search 'Batocera lightgun build' or 'Lightgun Coinops' (if you prefer to run from Windows). I've tried a lot of pre-made images but I personally prefer configuring and setting it up myself as so often you need to tweak certain settings whether it be lightgun calibration related or configuring pedals that you can't easily alter on pre-made images. Would recommend investing in a quality lightgun to (I personally use a Sinden Lightgun with recoil which is modelled after the Namco's GunCon just with more buttons).

Getting back to this deal, if you're after a pedal purely for lightgun gaming emulation such as Time Crisis, then you're better of saving some money and buying a generic USB foot pedal on places like Amazon and eBay instead which is what I did. Most of them come with rebinding software so you can assign the pedal press to whatever key you want and then simply plug in the corresponding key into your emulator of choice and you're pretty much done. Works great and now I can play all the Time Crisis games and other lightgun games that require pedals such as the criminally underrated Virtua Cop 3.

                • @merajaan: I have a setup with a Sinden Lightgun and play a few games I like. I was mainly curious about their games lists and how they play.

              • @hughc: Check below…. I've spilled ma guts. 😁

            • @Thooperman: Jump onto Zuckerbook and look for Lightgun Lunatics.

              Nothing secretive about it.

merajaan is correct, there are plenty of pre built images available. The one I use though, which a member of that group created, is updated monthly with new games, emulator updates, tweaks etc. He also does a tutorial video for each update to show the group what needs doing as a part of it.

Join the group, start reading though the posts and you will see who the person to contact is for the build. Or go you can go your own way……. As Fleetwood Mac once said

              • @jollster101: Thanks. I have a setup with a Sinden gun. I was interested in how you guys are choosing to setup your games and look at some games I haven't thought about.

I'm currently playing on my PC, but one day I'll build an arcade cabinet. I've been telling myself that for more than 20 years though

      • dang, nostalgic to hear the name time crisis.

I got one of these for free and use it everyday, i use it for escape from tarkov.

  • Anyone use this for work?

    • use it as your space bar key and burn some calories while working - 2 birds 1 stone

      • Only averaging 55 keystrokes an hour

    • i did i didnt find it that useful
I use the steam deck for work just the peddle was a fail

    • You could use it for a boss key

    • I use one of these for work. Mostly to fire off my custom autohotkey scripts, and control volume/zoom/pan. It works great, and switches layouts based on the app you're using. I initially got a Loupedeck, but couldn't get it working, most likely due to the required protocols being blocked by my workplace firewalls etc.

  • Does this use separate software tot he stream deck or is it all in one? I hoped the stream deck would just use icue but that wasn’t the case either
